The thought of a Ratchet & Clank game on mobile phones instead of a big-budget Rift Apart PS5 sequel will have had some PlayStation fans turning their noses up, but give the new game a chance, and its debut gameplay videos actually look more than acceptable.
Above you'll find 22 minutes of Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble gameplay, with the tutorial opening the video, followed by a few matches of what looks like Total Rumble, which riffs on Overwatch. Staying faithful to the Ratchet & Clank series, it has all the wacky weapons you've come to expect from the main games, along with a lot of the chaos and debris.
There'll also be another mode called Blast Ball, which looks like Rocket League, and then Bolt Rush, where you have to collect the most bolts in a level. You can still pre-register to play the game now, with the title already available to play in select countries.

No gonna lie, this actually looks pretty decent, nothing wrong with harmless fun. I would assume there will be MXT right?
Look I'll be honest, the game looks fun (along for the Horizon mobile game) however I just don't want to play games on mobile. I'd rather enjoy sitting on the couch, picking up the controller, and playing something like this opposed to being hunched over with my focus a few inches from my face. I use my phone often for work so I don't need something else to continue using my phone after work. Something hits different, to me, playing on a console.

@PocketHotDogs I wonder if they can some how get these mobile games to stream onto a console/portal, I think that could go down well with players.

The gameplay looks fun, idk if it'd make me become a handheld gamer, but I'll at least give it a shot.
Also, no voiceover kinda sounds weird. I'm assuming if I'm actually playing it I won't notice, but the ambience sounds too quiet from the video.
@PocketHotDogs Feel exactly the same. Have absolutely no interest in gaming on mobile, and that’s surely the feeling for many (if not most) Ratchet fans. Why not release this on PSN as well, a download only title would do no harm.

I can't see controlling Ratchet with a digital stick and 4 digital buttons as particularly fun...or intuitive.
Then again this is the series that twice mapped strafing to a Dpad and then to a back touchpanel

It may be the best game at what it does, but I don't care, f2p multiplayer phone game is something I would never play.
Mobile is a big no from me. I try to look for ways to interact with the damn thing less, not more. It could be the best gaming experience I'll ever have, I'm still not doing it on mobile.

I think most people on here aren’t the target audience. But i have no qualms with Sony trying to get a share of the mobile market, like every other publisher is doing
I love Ratchet but this looks like a low budget knock off. Sony should bring over all the Ratchet classics to PS5 including Deadlocked
