PS5 Game of the Month April 2026

Update []: There was some decent competition for April's Game of the Month award, but apparently, Capcom can simply do no wrong.

No, it wasn't enough for Resident Evil Requiem to win our Game of the Month vote back in February, or have Monster Hunter Stories 3 be a nominee in March — Capcom needed to release another banger just weeks later with Pragmata.

The sci-fi action adventure has claimed victory, and is officially our PS5 Game of the Month for April 2026.

Over 1,200 votes were cast by readers of Push Square across a selection of ten high quality titles.

Here are the top five releases of April, as decided by our audience:

  1. Pragmata - 581 votes (47%)
  2. Saros - 360 votes (29%)
  3. Starfield - 103 votes (8%)
  4. Hades 2 - 62 votes (5%)
  5. MOUSE: P.I. for Hire - 44 votes (4%)

Indeed, Pragmata had to fend off two other sci-fi contenders to leave with the win — one of which is a first-party PlayStation game. It's not often that a PS5 exclusive gets outvoted on this website!

But as alluded, Pragmata deserves all the praise. It received super positive reviews and it appears to have gone down extremely well with players, selling over two million copies in just a couple of weeks since launch.

"Pragmata knows its strengths and leans into those hard, and the result is a cracking action game that just feels brilliant to play," is what we wrote in our Pragmata PS5 review.

Congrats once again, Capcom — we hope Diana's prepared to do a funny little dance in celebration of this achievement.

Original Story: Well, that one just flew by, didn't it? April seemed a bit back-loaded, with the likes of Saros — Sony's latest first-party exclusive — dropping on the final day, but in hindsight, it was a pretty strong month from the start.

Aside from Housemarque's intense and enjoyably broody action-shooter, the other headline act was probably Pragmata, which went down extremely well with both reviewers and players.

Yep, Capcom's winning streak continues, as the Japanese publisher appears to have established yet another hit property.

Continuing the sci-fi theme, April also saw the launch of Starfield on PS5, after years of leaks and rumours. Bethesda's open world RPG certainly has its fans, but we'd be surprised if it makes a push for our Game of the Month award considering the competition.

Other highlights of the month included the eye-catching MOUSE: P.I. for Hire, the insanely addictive Vampire Crawlers, and the stylish People of Note.

The gacha enthusiasts had something new to obsess over, with the outrageously ambitious NTE: Neverness to Everness dropping.

Even fighting game fans were catered for with the arrival of Invincible VS. The phrase 'something for everyone' is springing to mind, here.

Oh, and who could forget, we finally got Hades 2 on PS5 last month as well. Damn, it really was a decent period for Sony's current-gen console!

Now then, as always, we're here to ask you to vote for your personal Game of the Month, but before we dive into the voting process, let's quickly recap all of our 2026 winners up until now...
