The most recent Bethesda games were pretty bad (Fallout 76 terrible) and the next Bethesda game is still years off... And they might not even be Xbox exclusive Phil Spencer said.
Michel Ancel's beyond good & evil was his dream project, he wanted to make a trilogy. In 2008 he finally started making it but it got caught in development hell.
Then at e3 2018 it was re-announced as a prequel, and Michel Ancel cried on stage because he could finally make his dream project.
And now suddenly this??
It'll be a bad game, nothing like a charming dark Pixar like story about human trafficing and government propaganda, but a generic create your own character mmorpg.
I really don't see the similarity... In RDR2 every road trip leads to dozens of encounters, quests, oddities, all the way till the end of the game. In death stranding you piss, drink monster and avoid ink. No exploration value.
Oh don't worry, the controversy about whatever crazy thing Bioware/Ea will decide to do with it will start much, much earlier. Online play? Lootboxes? Subscription service? Nothing is beyond these kind of developers anymore.
@nessisonett Disagree. If a game allows you to do it why not... It's not like you are committing the murder in reality, it's all pixels, games are still games and looking realistic is something else than feeling realistic. And by that, I mean REALLY realistic, like feeling messed up if you did it.
@Cycologist Michel Ancel has such a reputation because all his games are good and have a certain charm and magic in them that isn't found anywhere else.
People are hating companies like EA, Activision and even Bethesda more by the day. This is going to backfire immensely if they continue doing this.
There is only one thing now that pleases gamers and shareholders alike: good games. Just look at Rockstar for proof. When are the big companies going to realise this?
Undertale starts out as a simple cutesy RPG but it gets stranger and defies your expectations in ways you can't even imagine. There is a surprisingly deep lore in the game, and you need multiple playthroughs to get the full story. And even then there will be multiple secrets and behind-the-scenes mysteries you have missed.
To be fair, they just started developing this game and the idea is with their "Space Monkey" project that fans participate in the development of the game from start to finish.
For those that say they released a trailer back in 2008, that was an old BG&E2 version which was cancelled. They started making this version at the end of 2016 I believe, after they finished developing their new engine.
So that's the idea behind it, and it means the game won't be finished for several years.
Best game I've ever played. While the Last of Us has a more gut-punching story in my opinion, the gameplay of God of War is so good that this game as a whole surpasses it. And I love the Northern mythology. They saved all the real epic stuff for the sequels, but still this game is unsurpassed in its genre.
To be fair, GoW was heavily inspired by Uncharted and especially the Last of Us, and evolved the gameplay system. It's certainly possible that Naughty Dog didn't evolve their formula (they'll probably don't have time to start doing it now), but they'll have to now with whatever comes after TLOU2.
People may need to stop comparing this too much to ME 1-3.
They compare the new pilot to joker, the new protagonist to shepard, the new krogan to wrex, the new Asari to Liara, the new AI to EDI and the new turian to Garrus.
They're new people, new characters, it will all be quite different than ME1-3
I want to know if the only thing this is is just wandering around the hut and their creepy cellar avoiding Baker's the entire time, or that there's acvtually some variety and at least some very decent surprises...
I want uncle Harry to show up I want Umbrella and a real plot I want familiar characters I want to explore a castle, a forest, an abandoned ship and much more than just one hut/one house avoiding the same enemies all over!
@Grawlog I agree entirely. That's why Michel Ancel released BG&E2 pics on his Instagram, and why Ubisoft France directed gamers to Michel Ancel's Instagram. To show Ubisoft still cares about taking creative risks.
I think there is a meeting between Ubi and Vivendi today. If Vivendi wants control, it could mean that BG&E2 will be scrapped because it doesn't make any business sense.
Looks like Michel Ancel is fighting for the game's existence.
@kyleforrester87 I don't know because I didn't play it. But just watching the video of Sean Murray lying to people makes me angry. I think the biggest deal for me would be the mundane-ness of most planets. Where are the dinosaurs and giant earthworms from the trailer?. Also they advertised as "Find out what's in the center of the Universe". I won't spoil it here, what happens, but I also see that as a big lie.
I can't Judge the rest of the missing features because I haven't played the game myself.

Re: The Last of Us 2 Dominates Game Awards 2020 Nominations
A great game with a flawed story that with some minor changes could've been a really good story. Oh well.
Re: Poll: Has Xbox's Bethesda Buyout Made You Reconsider a PS5 Purchase?

So yeah, a PS5.
Re: Rayman Creator Michel Ancel Retires from Games, PS4 Exclusive WiLD Going Super Well
He left because Ubisoft makes a hot mess of his dream project.

This is fishy.

Re: Poll: Vote for Your PlayStation Game of the Month for January 2020
So the award is a popularity contest now. Indie games that flop but get 10 out of 10s don't stand a chance.

According to other sources, Ancel left this game to work on Beyond Good & Evil 2 full-time

Never played the first one. It's still not on PS4, nor on PC. Oh well, then let's start with part 2 I guess.

@rjejr It's an old version of a game that is cancelled. The development of the current BG&E2 only started not too long ago.

A new FromSoftware game is one of the things that would make me happy.
Re: God of War Director Speaks Out in Defence of Single Player Games
We still have Naughty Dog as well! And CD Projekt Red. And Rockstar. And many more companies.
As long as there is demand, we will get SP games.

Re: Why Didn't Sony Show Any Indie Games at E3 2017?
@Sinton It was the most meaningful trailer for me since the 2008 trailer of BG&E. I needed this.

Re: Inside and Limbo Dev Teases Its Next Game
The games are very artistic, but also quite depressing. I'm already depressed enough. XD

BG&E1 I meant ^

OMG Yussss, BG&E2 is my all time favorite game!
Re: Sony's Latest Sizzle Trailer Spotlights Major PS4 Games
Skeptical about Horizon and Final Fantasy, not interested in CoD and WD. I hope next year will be better!
Re: TGS 2016: Horizon: Zero Dawn Is a Proper Role-Playing Game
Still not a fan of the voice acting. I think this game tries a little too hard.
Re: TGS 2016: Resident Evil 7 Will Turn Up the Terror with PS4 Pro
Thanks, but no thanks. I'll be enjoying my regular PS4 until the PS5 comes out.
Re: TGS 2016: Horizon: Zero Dawn Is Even Cooler in Japanese
Sceptical about the English voice acting and the game in general. And the background music of the trailer is way too cheesy.
I think this game wants to be more than it actually is.
Re: Oh Dear, The Last Guardian Delayed into December on PS4
Jeez man, these months already are so empty...
Re: Review: Resident Evil 4 (PS4)
I don't really like the HD graphics. I actually prefer playing this one on low-res ^^
It's been long since I played this on the Wii. But it's very good, and actually quite scary (due to the atmosphere)

@Bad-MuthaAdebisi There are enough lies, I'm not going to name them all, just look on YT for people to talk about the lies, including proof.

@Bad-MuthaAdebisi It illustrates how angry people are about the game (No Man's Lie).
