Oh for crying out loud EA, what the heck is wrong with you? Earlier this month, studio boss Patrick Soderlund said that the company was "actively looking at" remastering the original Mass Effect Trilogy for current-gen consoles. Soderlund's comments were met with cheers from countless fans of BioWare's sci-fi series, but it's never quite that easy, is it?

Speaking to IGN in a new video, party pooper and EA executive Peter Moore has delivered a pretty decisive gut punch to the followers of Commander Shepard, stating that the publisher is "focused on delivering for the future". Echoing comments that Moore himself has made in the past, the exec continues: "Can we make an easy buck on remastering Mass Effect? Yes. Have a thousand people asked me that? Yes, they have [...] We just feel like we want to go forward. There's a little thing called Mass Effect: Andromeda that we're totally focused on at BioWare and it's gonna be magnificent."

Okay, so we get that Andromeda is a big deal for both BioWare and EA, but surely a remastered Trilogy would be a great way to introduce new players to the Mass Effect universe? We're not entirely sure how two of EA's most important figures can provide such different points of view, but then, this is the company that says press conferences are a waste of time after years of putting on absolutely awful presentations.

What do you make of Moore's patter? Is this remaster happening or not? Feel free to write EA a letter in the comments section below.
