Sort-of-spin-off Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has gone gold, developer Naughty Dog has announced. For those who may not know, going "gold" means that development of the game has finished, and so it won't be long before it enters mass production.
The standalone adventure was originally revealed back at the PlayStation Experience in 2016, and we've seen plenty of gameplay since. In short, it looks a lot like Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, but that's not exactly a bad thing, is it?
The Lost Legacy launches on the 22nd August, so we don't have a long way to go. Will you be picking this one up? Search for ancient treasures in the comments section below.

Really looking forward to this.
I preordered it yesterday after I wrapped up Thief's End. I'm looking forward to how an Uncharted without Nate turns out.
Matterfall has gone gold too, August is so packed for games I'm interested in.
Matterfall
Uncharted
Patapon
Everybody's Golf
Hellblade
Sonic Mania
Cities
Undertale
and Tokyo 42.
@adf86 Yeah... It's... wipes sweat from brow
@adf86 don't forget yakuza kiwami and thimbleweed park. Apparently obduction on psvr is out in August too...Remember the good old days of the summer game droughts? Haha, this year has been crazy
Getting this one for sure. The fact it is budget priced is the icing on the cake. Hopefully it is not that short.
@rjejr
Happy birthday my friend!
Day 1
@adf86 The amount of games that I want to play on ps4 is getting ridiculous
@JoeBlogs I was playing transistor, child of light, velocity 2x and infamous 2nd son back then, it's nice to be able to finish games and not having a backlog.
Yeah, a day 1 play for me for sure. The first Uncharted game was a strong reason behind me first getting a PS3 (jumped to the 360 after PS2, like many) and the series has only gone from strength to strength since. It's gonna be interesting to see if they can successfully branch the franchise out with this one, but there's absolutely no reason to doubt them doing so.
PreOrdered and so so ready
@adf86 + Absolver
not a spin off.its a sequel to uncharted 4
@JoeBlogs Dragon age inquisition sucks.evil within is way better
I don't like preordering for most games but ND deliver so this is a defo for me
@sinalefa Thank you very much. Heading out to play Monster Mini Golf w/ my sons now. It's 90' outside but that mini golf is indoors w/ black light and lots of classic rock, it was built for me. Also just put baby back ribs in the slow cooker for dinner, I'm multitasking.
So what is it like 120' by you? I've banned my kids from going to college south of the Mason-Dixon line. Which funnily enough my son Mason is named after.
Pre-ordered... Can't wait!!!
I guess this will have to do until Last of Us 2. Interested to see if the smaller title and different characters will give us some gameplay tweaks/experimentation. If it's pure-uncharted gameplay I'll be fine but would love it to be spiced up. Seems like the title to try new things with
@rjejr What the heck? Is this some new kinda spam? lol
@rjejr
I hope you enjoy it. Regarding the temperature (I needed to convert it as we do not use Fahrenheit here), we are nowhere near 120°. Currently at 72° in downtown San Jose where I live, although in the coast provinces it may reach 90°
@rjejr Happy Birthday Man!
Oh and yeah I finally got a PS4, the gold one that was on sale last month. I'm done with Xbox, except for Ori 2.
@JoeBlogs Haha, I remember it well. Now I feel like I need to clone myself three times over to get through everything. Being a JRPG fan doesn't help either!
@Rob_230 I'm probably going to play Yakuza Zero first since it seems like a good starting point for the series. @JAMes-BroWWWn That as well now?! Another one added to the list.
I'm in... love the Uncharted series.
I've had it preordered for a while. I'm really excited. Hopefully they experiment a bit with the Uncharted formula since this is sort of a spin-off. Even if they don't... I'll love it.
The stories in these games are great (except for 1. That game was pure garbage in every way IMO) but I wish they would change up the gameplay a little. I believe this will be the 6th Uncharted game, and yet the gameplay really hasn't changed at all from the 1st one. I hope this one changes it in at least a semi-significant way. Climbing, shooting, and puzzling gets old after a while.
Can't wait to jump back into uncharted
I already have the digital version pre-ordered because I bought the Triple Pack for Uncharted 4 way back when it launched. Still thinking about getting the physical copy though, it'd sit nicely with the boxed copies I have of all the other Uncharteds.
I can't remember, but wasn't Nadine the evil one? I don't know if I want to play as her.
Can't wait how long is the game btw?
@Ryno Holy fudge ryno you're alive. I thought you disappeared off the face of the earth w/ the Wii Mini. And the Wii U. Though my U is still getting ample use via Zelda U. And Miiverse is still a thing.
It's supposed to be summer of Xbox for us, but Zelda is too addictive. I sit down for 30 minutes to scan my 15 amiibo and next thing I know it's 2 1/2 hours later. It's getting traded in for a Switch when Mario releases either way. Ori was 1 of the best 2D platformers I've ever played, almost worth the price of the system. Sunset Overdrive should have been on PS4, it would be at least as world famous as inFamous, 1 of my new favorite games. Gears was meh and Rare is overrated. I'll take the original Spyro trilogy over the BK trilogy any day.
My PS4 is full of cheap on sale games I need to play so I can get to Horizon, which is going to seem limited after Zelda, but I'm looking forward to the linear story and realistic graphics.
Then NNK2, XC2 and DQXI. I'm all about the JRPG.
Same time next year?
@Lonejester Birthday spam or mini golf spam? The birthday thing seems to get a pass here, the minigolf is more like off topic, but I can see it being spam from an uninterested parties point of view.
@rjejr: I imagine I may be sticking around here a lil while now that I have a PS4. Comparing the releases between Xbox and PS4 there is really no contest so I finally decided to join the "Greatness" that waited me.
I never got around to getting Zelda BotW. Maybe I will get it someday and as for a Switch, I'm in no hurry. Everything about the Switch is too expensive so I may join in when there are better bundles and my kids are a little order or once the Switch Mini is available
I wasted to much money on PS3, Wii U, and XB1 games I hardly or never played. I'm going to try and not do that with my PS4 not matter how good the deal is.
Cannot wait for this I know its a long shot but I am hoping they do some more of these for Uncharted 4 down the line
