Skies of Arcadia, NiGHTS, Phantasy Star, Virtua Fighter and Fighting Vipers (Fighters Megamix on Saturn was a crazy good 3D fighter) are all great IP being left behind to rot. I can't wait to see how this game turns out.
@thedevilsjester the wording still makes sense to ne. It doesn't specify that its the ps5 version, only that there may or not be a patch for the game whether someone is playing on ps4 or ps5.
My problem with the game is it's just over too quickly. Yes i am bad at it, but it's super fun anyway. However i spend more time watching the end of round screens and dropping into a new game screens than i do playing the levels. Well it feels like it anyway. If there was some way to quickly bounce all players who didn't make it through a course into another course would go toward minimising that non play time. Hell, perhaps have the players who dont make it somehow change roles and help or hinder the players who succeed in the next round. Like aiming balls, or slime cannons, something not too intrusive but enough to keep me playing as opposed to waiting to play.
I have no idea without a ps5 its hard to say. But Rocket League would be high on my list. As for solo games i sunk a lot of time into Persona 5 and DQXI. Id love to find out.
Poor MK Annihilation actors who took on the roles when a lot of the cast weren't asked back. Ive always enjoyed those two movies one after the other WITH the jarring cast changes. It adds to the cheese factor.
Same. Assuming i will be able to get a ps5 by then. It's good for Sony that it keeps selling out, bad for people who want one and cant get one. But back on topic, this game and its preview with the unveiling of PS5 was the one that made me not want to wait until a year or so before jumping on board. It looks beautiful. Should make good use of the duel sense too.
Dickish indeed. Didn't Sony just give Epic some kind of cash injection recently too? Combined with money hatting those couple of Bethesda games for 6 months which turned out to be basically useless seeing MS bought them out ( the 6 month exclusivity still stands but effectively any profiting from that deal will be Microsofts money now) it seems that PR wise Sony is having misstep after misstep, or little things where Microsoft can come in and say "hey, it's better over here" in the same way Sony did to them with the whole sharing a game thing back when XB1 and PS4 launched. It's fascinating to see it play out. Console wars, a tale as old as ... videogames... almost. Anyway, fun times if you are into this kind of thing, seeing which company's strategies are paying off and which ones aren't.
Sumo Digital would be a pretty good acquisition, Sackboy looks fantastic. A Sonic Racing Transformed 2 game is something i would love to see from them with some decent money going into it. Transformed was a brilliant kart racer.
Im hoping to get one early next year. Hopefully production is still going as fast as possible from launch right through to the new year and beyond. February and March seem like a good time to jump on board to me.
Hopefully i will be able to get my hands on a PS5 by then. I was a bit slow on pre ordering, mainly because of Sony's silence. But i am a ps plus subscriber, so hopefully i will be able to add it to my library even if i don't have a ps5 yet. In the same way ive added vita games in the past even though i never owned a vita.
@LiamCroft A lot more criticism should be thrown at Sony so they will give us what we want. Information. Any. About the console, about it's features, you know, the console we can (well, could) pre purchase, but have no idea what it's actual feature set includes. How about making some noise and be critical but without toxic negativity? Seems like a fair trade. Without some negative feedback Sony won't stop being the arrogant company we want to do better for the sake of gaming.
Ive been eyeing Vampyr for a while. Its gone super low in sales before so not great for value. But a game i will get around to playing eventually so I'm thankful for that. I don't have NFS Payback either but i doubt i will play it much if it is loaded with microtransactions.
Oh Sony. They want people to transition from PS4 to PS5 quickly but they ain't helping their cause with issues like these. And staying quiet about them isn't helping matters. Even taking some responsibility for things like this and not being able to fix them would show some humanity in the company.
@nookie_egg i remember they did a public vote thing once where everyone got the popular picks. But actually having a list of like 20 or so ever changing games where every month an individual could choose two out of them, and then someone else could choose what they prefer and get them, that as far as im aware hasn't happened.
Some kind of choice from a list of games would be great. The list could change as some games leave more are added. That would definitely change up the added value to PS Plus and be a good counter to Gamepass. Especially when the list could include indie greats alongside bigger budget titles. It won't happen but I can dream. Meanwhile i will join the chorus of people hoping for something i do not already own. Id hope for something not on PS Now as well if Sony would hurry the capital F up on making it available in Australia.
@ShadowWolf712 of course i know that. But it shows its basically the same engine with everything set to max. Insomniac have been playing around with the engine running on PS5 devkits for ages. Which is why im finding it a really hard sell as a remaster, when i would be more wowed by a new IP using the engine they have been working to wow us, not a remaster of a relatively new game. Even DLC for MM would have gone over better. Or better yet, new paid DLC for the original Spiderman game that gave access to the "remaster" with new stories to tell for Peter Parker. Sony are misfiring, and not reading the room. I wish it wasn't this way, but it sure seems like it is.
People arent expecting it for nothing. They are wondering why a remaster is needed in the first place when a bit of tinkering here and there would do as a free upgrade option. It's not an old game. They won't be building the engine from scratch for PS5 as we know MM is going to be on PS4 as well as PS5. So how could it be really a remaster of a game that theoretically could be done on PS4, but isnt. It's already a PS4 game. It's just Sony saying "Spiderman is popular, how can we greedily milk this?" Really bad decision making. Id also prefer the time and money put into this remaster disaster be put into something new and different from Insomniac.
As I've always been against the idea of timed exclusivity, i am getting quite a chuckle out of Sony paying Bethesda for 6 month exclusive rights to those couple of games, that money now being effectively Microsofts money. Great lot of good 6 months exclusivity will do when they will go on Gamepass for the low low price of nothing except the subscription price. Sorry Sony, you can't keep playing by the same rules. Make a move. Upend the coffee table. Do something. Staying the same and doing business as usual isn't going to cut it this gen. I want a Sony kept on it's toes and firing on all cylinders, not this arrogant early PS3 era we seem to be having a "renaissance" of cough irrelevant Spiderman remaster cough
This is rubbish Sony. The game didn't need a remaster. It just needed to run at 60 fps. So Sony have wasted Insomniacs time on making a brand new game by trying to milk the Spiderman brand. Remasters. Sony's answer to gamepass it seems? Haha. The ***** show of 2020 continues.
The presentation left me with more questions than answers.
What is the UI like? What is the create button? How fast do games load? Will the playstation plus collection be expanded? Where is the list of PS4 games (if any) that will benefit from being played on PS5?
Not impressed with the price hike on games. Im in Australia where the standard edition AAA games are already on that $99.95 AUD barrier and can go up to $160 and over for special editions. Imagine seeing a premium edition digital day one game on the psn store selling for $200 AUD. Crikey. For some extra skins and an artbook or soundtrack? Nope.
@Anti-Matter without a definitive list, you couldnt know for sure but at face value, 99 percent means you should be fairly confident that you will be fine with the games you mention.
I would have liked to see more games on this list. Most are ps4 classics and go on sale quite often so not a lot of dollar value. Still some great games if you haven't got them already. I hope this isnt just a launch bonus and will be expanded A LOT in the future.
@kappasig390 My ideal scenario for pricing is exactly the same. If they are going to be the same or above Series X, i really need that PS Now bundled in with PS Plus as a way of making it worth it for a launch or close to launch purchase. Fingers and other extremities are crossed.
