Or Sony could just offer PS Now to Australia and any other countries who are missing out. Really thought we would hear news of this happening with the PS5 launch so soon. Some kind of amalgamation of plus into now going into the next gen.
Im one of the people that subscribe for the 2 "free" games and the discounts are ok too. I rarely play multiplayer but its nice to have. I am getting tired of the quality of games on offer. Im just keeping it as i am hoping with ps5 going forward it will be a return to getting awesome indie titles instead of this. Fall guys was excellent. I think thats the only free game ive enjoyed this year that i didnt already own.
I really think it's time Liam just came to the party and state he was wrong or at least state that his understanding of GaaS and live games isn't what his previous understanding of them were while writing this article. It's no big deal to be wrong, or shown a different perspective, especially when we all learn something from it.
Im hoping for 600.to 700 $AUD. If it's any more than $600 for the digital edition i will hold off until a price drop. Maybe. Or at least a deal that includes some decent games and another controller. I.hope the price is announced soon. Come on M$ and Sony. November is not far away.
Ive never won a match and i love the game. Not something I can play for hours though. I wish it was something i could play for hours as i too agree with the article that the other heavy hitters in the genre of battle royale do have ask to have a high level of skill. That's why i loved Splatoon so much on the Wii U. I wasn't skilled with shooting, so i always went with the roller. I could play for hours knowing i was an integral part of the team covering space with ink without the need for skill based shooting.
@Greenfisted i did read it, admittedly really fast. I read something back to front later on in the article. Dyslexia can be a bit of a pain. Thanks for pointing out my mistake on the backward compatible issue. It did make the article seem like click bait and not make much sense to me until i reread it again for a 4th time.
Im hoping at least that ps4 games played on ps5 can be played with a DS4. I get that it shouldn't be expected that PS4 controllers will work for all games, but for some games where haptic feedback and what not aren't needed, and assuming PS4 games will be available to buy of the psn store on PS5, Sony should allow devs to implement ds4 compatibility. But i totally get Sony wanting to make some more cash from selling Dual Sense controllers. I don't like it, but that's business.
I really want this game, but i am afraid of the difficulty. Just because I'm not the best at videogames doesn't mean i shouldnt be able to enjoy them, and i always play on easiest modes. I have so many unfinished games. It sucks for players like me who enjoy games stories or aesthetics but can never see the whole game due to difficulty. Not sure if i should buy this game. I love the style, but i dont like wasting my money on something i will never see. I cant just get good. I do my best and it's just not good enough.
It would be a perfect time to shake things up. However being this close it's not going to happen. I'd like to see a convergence of PS Now and PS + together, with pricing taking into account regions like mine where PS Now isn't available. I really like the idea of having games added to a collection and be available permanently than only for a month. I've been a subscriber for 4 years now, but i bet there were games before then that i would love that i missed out on.
I still watch Spongebob daily among other classic and newer cartoons, so im sure i will have a blast playing this. Just not right now. I have a backlog of games to get through.
I'm totally weird, just not furry type weird. I just didn't see enough of Goodbye Volcano High to form an opinion of what kind of game it could be. No like nor dislike for the game here from me. I actually do like the character designs. I'd like to see more of how the game plays. Same for Stray and Little Devil Inside. Need to see more.
Sony has stated that they believe in generations and that the overwhelming majority of ps4 games will work on PS5. So, until there is confirmation, cross buy should work the same way it does now for Playstation users, on a title by title basis, and while a ps4 version may not receive any enhancements on PS5, be assured your ps4 version will work on PS5, especially games released here on out which are more likely to be compatible with the PS5's boost mode.
It's not smart delivery, but i think Sony's comments about believing in generations of hardware is meant to cover questions like "will my ps4 game purchase = ps5 version of same game. Short answer is no. But that doesn't necessarily mean it won't work or have compatibility with boost mode. Basically Microsoft are trying something new, and Sony is doing the same old thing. I don't need confirmation about cross buy. I got it from "here at Sony we believe in generations" comment.
I hope it's fast. My PS4 is getting slower all the time and locking up and freezing up. I do have a tonne of games in folders on my home screen though. I don't and can't get unlimited data, so i need to keep all my fave games and ps+ games downloaded and ready to go. Something that i think will be a problem for me with PS5 after a while thanks to the brilliant but sub 1tb ssd. My ps4 has a 2tb hdd and i have another external 2tb hdd all full.
To me it looks like something i might enjoy, but it didn't showcase anything great. Graphics looked really dated. It could be a fun game, and it did stand out in the whole show, but for the wrong reasons.
Was that Lucy Lawless voicing the main bug thing? I got serious "So, you've gone dentist" vibes. Adventure time fans will know what I'm talking about.
Sometimes previews for games look amazing, even without knowing what the game will be like. This is one of those for me. I hope it turns out great, even though my instinct is that it will be some kind of sedate puzzler. Which can be great games if presented right and with an intriguing story. So far, cat with a backpack gives the game a tick in the presentation department for me.
I think it's beautiful. In love with the headphones too. I am puzzled by no mic on the headphone. I suppose Sony has faith the dual sense mic will work well enough. Probably not in a noisy environment though.
Agreed. I skimmed and thought Thursday is pretty soon. Friday morning seems not as soon. It is confusing at first. But a simple 12.06.20 followed by time would be appreciated.
Ive been in Sonic mode lately, buying SA1 and 2 on Steam, and watching Sonic X on Netflix. I am having a blast with Sonic Forces. Sure the voice acting is still not great, and the story is clumsy, but to me it is on par with Generations. Much better than Lost World too. I am playing on Normal mode and it has been quite easy, but i have seen lots of alternative routes whizz by and it should be fun working out how to get there in reruns of the levels. I would like a bigger roster of animal avatars, but other than that, this is a pretty great 3D Sonic game. In fact, the "classic" Sonic levels feel really Sonic-y. More so than Generations. Not sure if there is many of them yet though. They aren't Mania perfect feeling, but probably as close as they have ever gotten in capturing that momemtum of the old Megadrive games. I like it, although it's definitely geared towards the younger crowd, the gameplay is still fun and the graphics are great. I will definitely not be taking the reviews of future Sonic games so seriously.
I would have gotten it on PS4 but my wife really wanted it asap, and i don't have a Switch, so i got it on PC. Its fine. Plays well on a budget pc. I even use my ps4 controller so its all good.
As somewhat of a relapsed lapsed gamer, (mostly sat out the previous generation, then started again with PS4 but hardly play any more) i would love a subscription service. I rarely buy games as most modern games aren't to my tastes. (Nothing beats the 32bit and Dreamcast/PS2 eras in my book!) I would love a service that throws a bunch of games on there to check out when i get the chance to actually play games. Especially if it included heaps of retro titles. It doesnt have to be brand new games, maybe give the big titles at least 1 year on the market before putting them onto the service. Keep the money coming in from retail sales when a game is hyped up, and then add to the service when the hype is gone, to either keep a decent sized player base for multiplayer games or try to flog off some dlc for it.
Will it happen? Who knows. But i am all for it. Not enough to make me jump ship to a microsoft console though. The few games i do buy only get released on Sony's machines. Plus their 1st party games are top notch if i ever want to jump back into gaming.
If there was another smaller indie game or psvr game thrown in on top of those two games, it would have been perfect. Not for me, i dont have psvr or really want to play the two available games, but three titles would have softened the blow of losing the ps3 games and Vita games. I really loved getting those extra cross buy titles for my ps4 that were on Vita also. (I dont have a Vita either but i liked the extra bonus of having them available on ps4)
It's not the end of the world though. And im sure when PS5 comes things will flip around to a better (for me) value for money deal. As it stands this month, it's not great for me, but i would imagine these games would be great for others.
I hope it's true and the PS5 is backward compatible with all my older games from previous generations. But it could be leading up to some sort of gamepass system to go along with or be included with PSN now that Vita and PS3 games are no longer part of the monthly games. Having a couple of great PS5 games coming for free every month plus an ever growing list of legacy games that you could download and play as long as you are subscribing could be a winner against Microsoft and Nintendo's offerings. I would be down for that.
I would say im not a vocal minority. But a minority none the less. I don't care about the major games, the Red Deads or annual sport games or CoD. But there are a lot of little indie games that intrigue me that i would probably buy or spend money on if they had cross play because i know after a while these types of games lose a lot of their userbase. And i have a PS4, which has done we well this gen, but denying it to these smaller devs games basically means me feeling like i have backed the wrong horse this gen. And coming from someone who owned a Saturn, Dreamcast and Wii U, at least with those consoles i got the feeling like Sega and Nintendo were trying. Here (on this issue) i just see Sony arrogance. Of course the PS4 is successful, and there are heaps of games to choose from, but any time i see a game of interest come up and see that it is on the other consoles with crossplay, i get that feeling that i made a mistake getting the PS4 this gen. A hard feeling to shake.
