I’m in a bit of a rut at the moment. Got metaphor refantazio and far cry 3 (first ever far cry game) on the go but struggling to get through either. It’s me not them!
I loved ghost of Tsushima. Excluding breath of the wild (and now Elden ring) it was my favourite ever open world game. I pretty much completed everything in the game, which is something I rarely do. Very much looking forward to the follow up!
Coming towards the end of cyberpunk. I took a gamble on this one because of a problem with motion sickness in first person games, but I’ve eased myself in with shorter play sessions and I’ve been mostly fine.
I’ve really enjoyed my time with this game but it’s def more linear than I was expecting. I’m mostly just travelling from point a to point b and ticking off objectives. I should probably spend some time just exploring map markers and seeing what happens before I finish the story.
There’s a lot of outrage around the use of ai but it’s honestly too late. Ai is here to stay and will be used in almost every aspect of our lives within the next couple of years. Every major brand and business will be using it. It’s honestly a waste of energy getting worked up about it.
I’m about 10 hours into cyberpunk at the moment. It’s a bit more linear than I was expecting so far, but I’m enjoying it. Playing in short bursts to avoid motion sickness.
I played at launch. It was an incredible piece of art: graphics, music, gameplay all fantastic, but it’s not an experience I want to re-live. Far too grimdark for my tastes these days.
Clair obscur is number one by a large margin, but I also voted for Blue Prince which was fantastic, and fantasy life I which I’m currently playing and enjoying.
I almost voted for oblivion but I think fantasy life just edged it out. When I get around to KCD2 I suspect that will be a contender.
I’m suffering with a fairly significant concussion from kickboxing on Wednesday so I’m struggling to play anything without feeling sick. I’ve downloaded xcom 2 on my phone in the hope that I’ll manage better on a small screen.
After finishing Clair obscure I’ve been a little lost. I played mafia definitive edition which was both fun and frustrating. Dibbed and dabbed with various games since but seem to have settled on Days Gone which I fell off after a couple of hours the first time around.
Finished Claire Obscur last night - what an absolute masterpiece. It’s a solid 10/10 for me.
Going to play Mafia definitive edition as a palette cleanser before starting cyberpunk 2077 which I picked up on steam deck. I wanted to play it on ps5 but no FOV slider ruled it out.
I decided not to vote as I’ve only just finished act 1 but I’m pretty sure this is on target for a 10/10. I can’t see it falling any lower than a 9/10.
I wasn’t very happy about the lack of mini map at first but the game is so well designed that I always seem to end up back somewhere I recognise meaning I can take other paths.
It was my first time playing this game and I enjoyed it. I went with 8/10. I finished the story and a load of side quests after 40 hours and that was enough for me. I do plan to go back and do the shivering isles dlc though as I’ve heard it’s good.
Finished oblivion last night (main quest at 40 hours - loads of side quests left to do) and have moved on to Clair obscur. Just finished the prologue which was amazing.
I’m going to revisit Skyrim after this having fallen off it every time I’ve tried in the past. My main problem is motion sickness and the fact there’s no FOV slider.
Oh, also dipping in and out of lords of the fallen which is a great souls clone
Of all the companies to do this, Xbox seems like the one this going to have the worst effect on. They’re not selling any consoles as it is…
If the ps6 is too expensive that will probably be the nudge I’ve needed to move over to PC. I already have a huge library of games on steam deck and there aren’t that many PlayStation exclusives I’m worried about missing out on.
Balatro might be the most addictive game I’ve ever played. I keep having to delete it from my steam deck because it steals all of my time and makes me stay up too late.
I finished Blue Prince yesterday (which was fantastic) so have now moved onto Oblivion.
I’ve fallen off Skyrim multiple times over the years but this one is starting to click. I’m just wandering around doing the occasional side quest and levelling up at the moment. Not really sure what I’m doing but exploring the mines and dungeons is fun nonetheless.
@lazarus11 yeah, I’m not planning on rushing through it. I just have a tendency to not give complex games enough time before moving on or getting distracted by the shiny new game that just came out. That’s why I’m making myself stick to it.
Great run of games lately. Just finished blue prince, need to finish oblivion then will pick this up (I’m trying hard to stick with oblivion having impulse purchased it despite not being a fan of Skyrim and having never enjoyed any Bethesda games before)
I have preordered but I'm not sure whether to keep it yet. I have a steam deck and ps5 and I don't think I can justify all three.
If they'd launched this with a stronger game lineup and less terrible pricing it would be a no brainer to keep, but its hard to beat steams game pricing.
I've been working my way through It Takes Two with my wife for months. She only plays in 10-20 min chunks and gets bored easily. She also struggles with the camera controls so I'm not sure how she'll get in with this one but ill pick it up anyway. Looks amazing.
I bought dragon age veilguard on steam deck and couldn’t get into it - the graphics were just way to blurry in order to get a decent frame rate. I’ll probably give it another go on ps5
I'm struggling a bit with kingdom come deliverance 2 - not because I don't like it, but because its the kind of game I need a couple of hours to sit and get into.
So, I picked up Cult of the Lamb which is a nice pick up and play game for when I only have half an hour gaming time.
Mostly puttering around in divinity original sin 2. Everytime I think about playing kingdom come deliverance 2 I realise I don't have time for a longer play session and its not the kind of game I can dip in and out of.
Kingdom come deliverance 2. Loving it so far, although losing over an hours progress last night was pretty annoying. I need to remember to save more often!
Helldivers 2 was so much fun. I put nearly 100 hours in when it first came out and have never laughed so much playing a game. It was hilarious with friends but almost as good with randoms.
I only played it for a couple of months and doubt ill go back to it, but it was fantastic whilst it lasted.
The only one I've played is dragons dogma 2 which seems to be getting a lot of love in these awards. Maybe I'll give one of the others a go, but it seems to have been a slow year for open world adventures.
If DD2 is an action game, does that mean DA Veilguard is too? If so, that would probably get my vote. I gave up on DD2 about halfway through - it just never quite clicked for me.
Finished work today and I'm not back for 4 Weeks! Off to Thailand to train Muay Thai for two weeks on new years eve and have family descending on me on monday.
I've downloaded the Metaphor Refantazio demo and if I enjoy that, it'll be my main game over the holiday. I might take my switch to Thailand with me as I've yet to take Echoes of Wisdom out of its wrapper and it seems like a good in-flight entertainment option.
I haven’t played Helldivers 2 since the summer but had to give it GoTY because of how many hours I put into it and how much fun it was to play with friends/strangers.

Probably going back to metaphor refantazio after taking a break for DK bananza.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 590
DK Bonanza on switch and metaphor refantazio on ps5. Such a good combo!
Re: Poll: 5 Years Later, What Do You Think of Ghost of Tsushima?

Randomly playing binary domain after hearing about it on a podcast. It’s so good!

Re: Feature: Top 20 PS5 Games of 2025 So Far
Clair obscur is going to be hard to beat for game of the year. I still need to get back into KCD2
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 586
Faffing around with various games, mostly on switch 2

Re: DualSense PS5 Controllers Will Soon Be Able to Pair with Multiple Devices At Once
This is actually really handy. I use mine with my steam deck but always just use it wired because it’s a faff to pair

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 580
Clair obscure is phenomenal but I’ve just come across the first boss that feels unbeatable towards the end of act 2. Time to git gud
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 580
Bizarrely the same as Stephen. I’m working through Claire obscure then onto mafia: definitive edition.

Re: Expedition 33 Is Increasing in Popularity with Each Successive Week
I’m about ten hours in and absolutely loving it. The character, story, gameplay and soundtrack are all top tier. I’m glad it’s selling so well.

Wow! Clair obscur is running away with that poll!
I loved blue prince but oblivion got my vote. Clair obscur is my next game.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 577
My backlog is getting ridiculous and it’s overwhelmed me so all I’m doing is playing ten mins of a game, getting fomo and going back to Balatro.
To counter this, I’ve made myself a list to play through.
First up is Lords of the Fallen which drew me back with the new update as I gave up originally because it was a bit janky.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 572
I've got too many games on the go at the moment - I'm struggling to focus! The steam spring sale certainly hasn't helped.
But, I am slowly making my way through Divinity Original Sin 2 on PS5 and thoroughly enjoying it.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
@DennisReynolds I knew it was fixed! Oh boy, some heads are going to roll! 🤣
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
I’m still trying to figure everything out. Struggling with combat and navigation and… well, everything… But, I’m enjoying the struggle.
This is going to be one of those games that I either give up on after 20+ hours or it will take over my life 😂
Also, loving the dice game but I swear it’s fixed!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 567
Kingdom come deliverance 2. Loving it so far, although losing over an hours progress last night was pretty annoying. I need to remember to save more often!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 565
I’m in a bit of a gaming drought at the moment - not because there’s nothing to play, but because I can’t get into anything.
I might put another hour or two into dragon age veilguard later.
Re: Celeste Developer Cancels New Game Earthblade
I’m disappointed to hear that. I absolutely loved Celeste. I’m hoping we don’t have to wait another 5+ years for whatever comes next.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 564
Dragon age veilguard, but I’m not in love so far. One hour bursts seem to be enough.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 561
Yakuza zero, veilguard, and kingdom come deliverance.
I'm off to Thailand on new years eve and have been saving echoes of wisdom for the flight. Can't wait to get stuck into that.

I voted for space marine 2

Metaphor refantazio demo amd DA veilguard. I need to stop buying games

Balatro number 2
