With the launch of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, the 2025 release schedule has finally begun. There's lots to look forward to over the next 12 months, so get a move on with those backlogs and catch up to the present so that we can enjoy all of the promising titles ahead. This is what we're playing this weekend, either old or new.
Aaron Bayne
This week I started up a Death March playthrough of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It's been a long time since I went all in on a big RPG, so why not recapture the glory days with a genuine masterpiece.
Echo Apsey
I am checking out Synduality: Echo of Ada to see what it is all about after being intrigued by it since it was announced, alongside grinding Season 1 in Marvel Rivals!
Jamie O'Neill
I'm rewatching an E3 2004 Resident Evil 4 preview DVD, which came with CUBE magazine, and I plan to replay versions of the 2005 original on both PS3 and PS4, to celebrate Resident Evil 4's 20-year anniversary this January 2025.
Liam Croft
I've got the new demo for The First Berserker: Khazan downloaded, so I'll give that a go at some point.
Stephen Tailby
I'm on a pair of smaller games for review purposes, so I'll mostly be playing those this weekend. If I get time, I'd love to dive back into Hitman, as I've still got plenty to do in Agent 47's world of assassination.
That's what we're playing this weekend, but what have you got planned in the gaming sphere this Saturday and Sunday? Share your plans in the comments below.

This weekend I will focus on DUSK for the Switch. It is an amazing retro style fast paced shooter with some atmospheric levels
My second focus is Resident Evil 2 Remake in VR. I am in the sewers section and looking forward to making it to the lab ... I hope
And lastly, if time permits, some Blasphemous 2 on the PS5 and Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles
Also, I am REALLY excited that my Switch physical collection will be playable on the Switch 2
Happy gaming everyone!!!
I shall be dressing like a princess in Infinity Nikki determined to get a couple of iridescent eurekas over the weekend, if you know you know.
Also trying to enjoy Flint: Treasure of Oblivion in short bursts.
Then it all stops to watch the Lions win tonight!
Arma Reforger and the last 6 races in Hot Wheels unleashed 2.
Have a great weekend.
Just wrapped up on Black Myth Wukong, decent game but certainly frustrating even as a FromSoft fan. A classic 7/10 experience. Now I've started on Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, should be fun!
Will be playing GTA: San Andreas on Series X and Trails to Azure on Switch. I'm also considering starting up a horror game as it's been a while since I played one of those. I think I'm going to go with Outlast 2.
I’ll be booping every enemy on the head instead of killing them that I possibly can in Star Wars outlaws on the 5pro and will be continuing my slog through Luigi mansion 2 on switch.
Ys X: Nordics and possibly some It Takes Two.
Witcher 3 and Lost Judgment
Finishing up Robocop Rogue City. Very enjoyable and might try the plat.
Visions of Mana and Dragon Age Veilguard on PS5 and Indiana Jones and Black Ops 6 on Xbox.
Got sucked back into Dark Souls 3. What a game! Will be doing my standard strength build run.
I reached chapter 8 in Lost Judg(e)ment last night. Most definitely playing more tonight as the story has taken a dark turn. Not that it wasn't already!
Nothing, as I am in Dublin this weekend with the lads. Did finish watching Castlevania Nocturne yesterday night which was excellent 👌
Limited game time at the moment so today am gonna flip between Night in the Woods, The Stanley Parable, Animal Well and Guardians of the Galaxy and see if I can make some progress on any or all of them.
Take it easy peoples and enjoy your weekend.
I've had no gaming time at all this week as I've been away from home down in misty Cardiff. Now that I'm back, planning to catch up and get as much time as possible on Trails in the Sky first chapter.
Have a good weekend all.
Made time to finally beat that Consort in Shadow of the Erdtree. What an epic battle with great sound to match, my bro who hasn't played games in a while was amazed by the Consort's incredible moveset. Elden Ring will be spoken of for years to come. Next, I'll focus on beating Metaphor, meanwhile just want to hangout in BB's The Old Hunters for a while.
I’m off to IKEA but later I shall be partaking in some Ragnarok because why wouldn’t you 😆 happy gaming lads and laddettes
Just started Ragnarok, which has an appropriately chilly vibe as my heat’s out and wont be fixed until Monday. Im holed up in my little office using the PS5 to keep warm. How very Dickensian! Im going to be using Sambuca as antifreeze tonight.
Oh, and i just got a dvd drive from Sony, so they are out there. Less than 24 hours from ordering to delivery, which was pretty darn good
I completed The Thaumaturge and just started on Banishers of Ghost Eden . These supposedly AA are much much better and fulfilling than the AAA GAMES I've been trying to finish these days.
Jet pack willy on the spectrum
Fire ant on the plus 4
Opus 3 on the track listing
It's g9nna be a fine night!
I Platinumed Rise of The Ronin a few days ago, really enjoyed it even if it didn't scratch that Nioh 2 itch!
This weekend i am playing Stellar Blade and Dragon Age 2!
Stellar Blade is excellent so far
I’m chasing down the final few trophies for AC:Mirage. I haven’t quite decided if i want to play something new or wait for the new Yakuza.
Got a second PS5 for Christmas, so this weekend I am playing some online multiplayer with my son that are PS5 only. Playing Phasmophobia (his choice) and some Marvel Rivals (mine). Also going to watch Wild at Heart tonight since David Lynch just passed. It’s about time he saw the origin of the snakeskin jacket that Nicolas Cage wears in Dead by Daylight.
Finished the super Silent Hill 2 mid week and just finished Thank Goodness you're here! (Absolutely mental game).
Just bought Crypt Custodian to start today
Well, well, well .... I think it's gonna be mostly COD and Indiana Jones on Xbox this weekend.
Whilst I was in Mexico visiting my wife's family I also spent quite a bit of time with my Switch. I started and finished Doom 2016 (which I had already completed back when it was first released on PS4 ... great game!) and played through most of Super Mario Wonder, which I plan on completing 100% within this month.
Happy gaming everyone!
Finishing up on the Space Marine 2 platinum trophy and doing the last two operations on Lethal.
@Steelhead Ys X is an excellent game, enjoy! I'm still disappointed about Falcom doing an Atlus and re-releasing it in an enhanced edition though...
I started Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana last night, the nostalgia is strong with this one, having played the PSP version ages ago!
Stellar Blade and Lollipop Chainsaw

Final Fantasy 16. I have been putting off the The Rising Tide DLC until now. This game has a ridiculous amount of cool boss fights.
On the Pro completed Silent Hill 2 what an awesome remake. Playing mostly Persona 3 Reload in October now
Finished:
Finally finished this game. Definitely one of the best in the series despite some flaws including some bad frame rate.
Playing:
My save file was gone when my HDD got corrupted. So i start from scratch again. Currently at Baskar village try get the summons.
Just finished Oni Island and i thought it's the end. But turns out there's a 3rd act.
Happy weekend everyone 🍻
PoE 2 for me mostly and I downloaded kazan the first berserker demo which is very good. I watched the 2nd series of SAS rogue heros which was amazing so I might boot up sniper elite 5 and go on a nazi murder spree..have a great weekend everybody 👍
Heading to Mom's to get a few things done. Her car isn't starting, so that could be 5 minutes or an hour. I think it's just been sitting too long, so I'll take a jumper pack and a charger. Worst comes to worst, a reman starter for her car is only $130, is easily accessible, and only has three bolts. We'll see. My son is all of a sudden back in to Fortnite, so I may play a few games with him. Fantasian Neo Dimension has my full attention at the moment. It's such a throwback that I can't help but love it.
Speaking of throwback, I may follow suit with everyone else - bust out the GameCube with the copy of RE4 that I bought 20 years ago and spend some time with it. I unfortunately don't have a CRT display, but one of my TVs does have component in, and I happen to have component cables for the GameCube. We'll see how it does.
Have a good weekend, everyone.
As genius as I am, I'm deep into three JRPGs at the same time, those being Metaphor, Ys X and Mario & Luigi Brothership. I'll probably finish Ys first, the music is godly.
Not much this weekend as will mostly be watching the snooker, if i do get time probably something easy like balatro or something.
Played since last week
Spider-Man 2 - Finished it, amazing game. Miles is still my favorite of the three Spider-Man games but some of the main missions in S-M 2 are incredible.
The Stanley parable - finished and platinumed. Brilliant game, great humour. The end is really never the end with this game. Not even sure I´ve seen all the game has to offer but having seen most of it I can put it down now.
Star Wars: Tales from the galaxys edge VR - not been feeling the urge to play it at all since last week, which is pretty telling. Mediocre game, but I think I´m gonna drop it. There are other games I want to play instead.
A Plague Tale - Requiem - I played this back at release on the Series S but I'm going back to it now on the PS5 pro, really enjoying the game. Loved the first one as well, need to add the platinum of Requiem to the collection as it bugs me otherwise. Yes I’m wierd like that 😂
Cyberpunk 2077.
I'll be heading through the Gatesnof the Sundom in HZD Remastered along side watching NFL playoffs this weekend.
Happy gaming!
My first time with Baldur's Gate 3. At the early game, taking my sweet time just trying to learn the ropes and exploring. So far, so good.
Talos Principle VR

Puzzle game from makers of Serious Sam.
Shadow Warrior 2

Gory action FPS with silly Duke Nukem'ish dialogue.
I'll be playing with my Willy ))
Finished Space Marine 2 this week, it was good but I am not bothering with the platinum (MP trophies) so I am on to Indika now which is very interesting I am keen to see where it goes!
Happy gaming folks
Mafia 3 in preparation for The Old Country (1st playthrough ever and I’m really enjoying it, the setting is amazing, but the graphics are broken on PS5- broken lighting and texture flickering). Also started Alan Wake 2. I’m a fan of Remedy and I’m already loving the game. How the PS5 is capable of displaying such graphics while still staying silent is beyond me.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure
Didn't get to play it as much this week as I would've liked to, but I still highly enjoyed it when I did. I hope to get some decent time with it this weekend.
Finished Metaphor. Great game and deserves the praise until the last boss. Seriously, that spike in difficulty. Now I’ve moved onto Silent Hill and found myself engrossed in Resistance Retribution as I missed the whole series back in the day.
Lastly, I’m hitting up Infinity Nikki when I can and want to get back to ZZZ
This weekend I’ll be focusing on a NG+ run in Stellar Blade. I’m halfway through and plan on wrapping up the platinum trophy. I forgot how brilliant this game is, from its soundtrack, combat, and ambience. Meanwhile, earlier this week I completed Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl and got the platinum for that. It’s an achievement I’m quite proud of, and after playing the first game — recently starting my entry into this franchise with Stalker 2 — I can confidently say it has become one of my favorite franchises.
Edit / Update: I just got the platinum for Stellar Blade. Now I’m unsure what to play next.
Atelier Totori (finished Rorona recently), some old WWE game, (I think it's 2k16) and... I don't know. I kinda want to play another turn-based RPG too.
Still going through collecting all the trophies for the Uncharted series. Currently blasting through Uncharted 2 remaster on Brutal difficulty. The difficulty of brutal is no joke either. Getting spawn locked instant deaths is one hell of a way of making a game challenging. But I am still having a lot of fun with it. The series is amongst my all time favourites. As well as grinding out the last few trophies for UFL. Want to get the platinum for that as quick as possible, so I don't have to play it ever again. Happy Gaming All.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and I finally started Kingdom Come Deliverance. KCD has quite the learning curve but I’m really enjoying it.
I am still playing Dragon Age: Veilguard and really enjoying it. I am surprised, as I disliked Dragon Age: Inquisition. But the newest one had really grabbed me.
Played The First Berserker - Khazan demo yesterday. Really solid 3 hours.
Dark Souls II, this game is longer than I remember. Also Wo Long and Fallout 4, which I'm still absolutely loving, more so than first time around.
@stBoa damn man that’s some gaming! I used to love Chucky egg myself
I’m currently playing through FLINTLOCK: Siege Of Dawn. The game is pretty good overall and definitely fun, but the XP system, floaty jumping and some of the elements of combat make it a bit frustrating to play at times. So far I’m about 1/3 of the way through it and I’d say it’s a solid 7.
Other than that I’ll be mixing in a little COD: BO6 and watching my Detroit Lions (hopefully) advance to the NFC Championship game tonight, which, needless to say, I’m quite excited for! Hope everyone enjoys what they’re playing this weekend and GO LIONS!!!
Crusader of Centry / Soleil on my old handheld emulator machine, some old school vibes!
PS5: Octopath Traveler and something new since I (finally) beat Post Void last night. Picked up a few games on sale, too.
Switch: Metroid Prime Remastered and Mary Skelter Nightmares
@Mikey856 ooh classic
Continuing with Eiyuden Chronicles Hundred Heroes which I’m still really enjoying. I’m loving all optional stuff you can do such as cards and a Beyblade type of game. Also recruiting characters and building up your castle town is satisfying too.
I’ll also be playing co-op raft, which aside from trophies not popping for anyone but the host, is an amazingly addictive survival game that was definitely worth the wait.
Also might be finishing up Journey to the savage planet co-op which I knew nothing about going into it. Turns out it’s actually a pretty good game.
Lastly I’ll be playing Hunt Showdown between all that which I’ve gotten into quite a bit recently. I can’t think of anything else like it on PS. It’s probably the most tense MP game I’ve played, I’m always on edge!
Is rocking back and forth waiting for KCDII classed as playing anything? 🤷♂️
Nah, I'll probably be putting up a nice new sword display at some point though, so that will satisfy my historical weaponry urges, and maybe i'll play a bit of KCD too, which sounds like KCDII if you say it out loud 😛
Still going through Rebirth, I'm about to leave Corel. I'm also playing Zenless Zone Zero as always, I'm finally done with that tower defense minigame 😭
I’m taking more beatings in wukong. Great game!
@Foxhound I'm about halfway through Ys X and I've actually been finding it a bit underwhelming. Combat and exploration both feel lacking compared to earlier entries. For me the old multi-character with varying damage types was really a core part of the series and Ys X is struggling to impress without it. The new combat is growing on me though, so things may improve.
Infinity Nikki and I absolutely love it! Refreshing to play a game with solely good vibes.
Speaking of good vibes: I was playing Dead Space remake this week, but was surprised to not like it at all. The gameplay was so boring and the graphics really disappointed as well.
Played a bit of Subside on psvr2 now and then, and finally unlocked all regions. Not much of a game but very beautiful to explore the environments and watch the animals. I am hoping for a coral reef DLC.
Started Ghost of Tsushima on ps5 (directors cut). Everything in this game including music is so beautiful. But for whatever reason it hasn't hooked me yet. Maybe I don't care all that much about the story? Or I haven't played enough.
Started Arken Age on PSVR2. Looks pretty good in the headset, although in many respects looks more like a ps3 or early ps4 game. But, somehow I do not enjoy the combat all that much, maybe I haven't really understood how the game is to be played ? And I am also not really hooked.
Cat Quest 3 on the PS5 and Sonic Origins Plus on the Switch
@Darude84
Thought I was the only one. Tried it before I started Alan Wake 2 and the original is still untouchable to me. The graphics are too clean, taking away the murkiness and the oppressive atmosphere of the original one. I also found the voice acting subpar. Just my 3 cents.
I've been making progress in Lords of the Fallen 2024. Game is surprising me with how good it is.
Black Myth Wukong. I ordinarily don't care for hard games like this but this one is an absolute masterpiece that I can't stop playing. Currently working on finishing chapter 3.
Honestly, I’ll probably play Skyrim at some point. I can’t believe I touched it for five minutes when my son discovered it on my Xbox 360 and now I’m mildly hungry for it… again… eight playthroughs over the years aren’t enough, I guess? It’s sort of amazing how well it holds up, but it also sort of makes me feel a little weird about current games because it just feels better than most of what I played last year.
I should play some more Indy. I’d like to beat it before the Xbox showcase in case there’s a shadow drop.
Friends of mine want me to play Hunt and Marvel Rivals, but plans just haven’t coincided for that. I’m sure that’ll eventually happen, but will it be this weekend?
Oh, and then there’s the ever present Balatro which is the only certain thing in gaming lately. I’ve played it on my phone every day since it’s released on mobile to some extent... and that’s after owning it on PS and Switch. I think I’ve got an addiction.
@gollumb82 I have to say I didn’t play the original. Maybe that’s also the problem: for me it’s just a game with old fashioned level design without feeling any nostalgia.
Death Stranding and Persona 4 Golden. Both on PS5. Playing P4G when the TV is occupied on my Portal. DS much better on the full screen with the surround sound.
First time playing both and enjoying them very much.
None atm I'm rewatching all of Daredevil
@somnambulance Skyrim is on all-time low sale for 4 bucks on Steam now if you have a PC. Then you can mod it to the point where your ninth playthrough will be quite different.
Or maybe you have done so already? Then there's things like Enderal and Bruma. I plan on trying those for my next Skyrim run myself.
RE4 Remake Separate Ways DLC
Have driven every centimetre of the UK in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and have headed off to the continent.
Need to get back to Zelda BotW.
My main game is Ys Memoire: The Oath in FeIghana. I'll also be playing Raft co-op.
Started Dave the Diver and I’m absolutely addicted to the gameplay loop. Its such a cozy little game.
I started playing Live A Live while being sick this week; the other games I played were the usual: NBA 2K24, Mortal Kombat, Final Fantasy, etc.
Dragon age veilguard, but I’m not in love so far. One hour bursts seem to be enough.
Finally finished the main story in Star Wars Outlaws, took me 112 hours and I loved it all. I intend to return and mop up lots of smaller quests as I just love the world and give they hit.
I started Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth from my backlog. It tells a good story if you played the previous title, but I've spent about 1 hour of my first 14 watching story and not actually playing at all, so that balance will need to change quickly for me. I love Ichi but I want to play as him, not just watch . I'm sure it will start to balance out soon!
Whatever you are playing this weekend I hope you have fun..
Microsoft Wordament (Android) - Adventure mode and Dailies as usual.
Gravity Guy (Windows Phone) - Nearly halfway through it now.
Microsoft Minesweeper (Windows Phone) - I'm not very familiar with this franchise, slowly getting the hang of it though.
@spakai
I hear only good things about The Thaumaturge and Banisher. Which of them should a fan of deep, story -driven RPGs choose first?
I keep leaving games behind.
I saw that the expansion for Horizon Forbidden West is on discount - I might buy and finally return to my playthrough of the game. Something about the pacing of this game has ruined it for me. It's been so long that I probably should restart the game but that also seems tedious. Hopefully, if I do I will be able to accept the first attempt as a trial run.
I should have been playing PS4 Golden, but instead I changed into playing PS5 Royal AGAIN. It is like reading a good book you love, and once you are familiar with this game it gets super easy as you create overpowered Personas and manage your time better than anyone playing it for the first time.
Uncharted 4 on PS5. Getting to the end…
DOA6. Dunno how I got suckered into it, but I've been angry recently and it's a great way of letting that out constructively... It's a lot frickin harder than the early iterations I remember so fondly though... 🙄
Mass Effect as part of the legendary edition. I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. It's content-rich without feeling bloated and will probably only take around 30 - 35 hours, refreshingly short for an RPG.
Diablo IV with my partner. She doesn't play games much but seems to just enjoy making her sorceress look as suggestive as possible whilst blasting flaming beams at demons. It's the second time we've beaten the main story and we're just checking off the outstanding dungeons.
We're due to get a banger of a snowstorm this afternoon, so I went to the PO & picked up DQ III HD-2D remake this morning. Will start it tomorrow!!!
I finished Tomb Raider Definitive Edition 2 days ago, just rushed through main story this time as I already played it few years ago on PC. Hopefully we'll see something more from new Tomb Raider game.
Now not yet sure what to play next from my backlog, lot of options: Dark Souls 3, Stellar Blade, HZD Remastered, Mass Effect LE, Control...also picked up Witcher 3 Complete Edition for my collection, eoulf love to start it some time but not sure if I'm willing to commit fully right now.
Whatever you're playing, have fun
@EfYI tough one, both have rpg elements .
I started a fresh play through of Final Fantasy 15 Royal Edition. This game has held up pretty well for its age.
FF15 could definitely use a current gen patch, but it still looks better than a lot of PS4 games and runs smoothly on Lite mode.
Those bits aside, FF15 is a weird entry in the series, yet it remains one of my favorites due to the characters and the journey.
@Zuljaras
Bloody hell that’s one big switch collection!
I’ve had mine since launch and have 10 - 15 games….lol
What does your PlayStation collection look like out of interest?
Megaton Musashi. What a treat by Level-5
I have started Wuthering Waves and loving it. Been a Genshin player and just finished Stellar Blade on New Game+, so Wuthering Waves is a great blend of both Stellar Blade combat with Genshin exploration. WuWa does have a style of it's own to set it part from Genshin, like the gear system is actually hunting and absorbing monsters to use them as your gear boosts
@Hurblyburbly mmm ps4 is around only 50-60 games and ps5 is only 15 I think.
I have to count them too, later
In the endgame of Red Dead Redemption trophy hunting and again, just a tighter experience than the sequel imo. I think John Marston is a much better protagonist than Arthur which also heavily influences my opinion.
@Hurblyburbly I took the time to take photos of my PS4 and PS5 collections. As you can see, they are humble next to my Switch collection.
PS4 - 86 cases
PS5 - 23 cases
Can not be more happy with this 2 games
Well here we go with another interesting WAYP. The week was some new games and some of the GOTY hunt again. Trails Through Daybreak, Emio and Metaphor with some Mario and Luigi and WWE2K24. Started Wuthering Waves too and honestly of all these Gacha games it’s the best not Hoyoverse game of all of them. Most of the weekend was spent with Mario and Luigi Brothership and Wuthering Waves. Mario and Luigi is honestly just a good comfort game and I’m not just saying that. Granted I ain’t played much because I’ve been going in on Trails Through Daybreak like Alana but I feel bad for that because it’s genuinely cute, comforting and fun it reminds of Bowsers Inside Story And with Wuthering Waves like I said it’s a game that honestly may not be the best but like I said outside of the trio of Genshin, Star Rail and Zenless it may genuinely be like 4th place then it’s fun, cute, has awesome characters and a really interesting world. And fantastic combat. Rest of the weekend I’m thinking is gonna be maybe some Marvel Rivals or YS Memoire The Oath in Felghana. Didn’t start that one yet but it’s apparently stellar so I’m excited. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Trails Through Daybreak, Emio, Dawntrail, Metaphor, YS, Mario and Luigi Brothership, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake and WWE 2K24. Try to start Tales of Graces F Remastered and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD too. Genuinely wanna try to beat Emio too like for real. As a side note the Switch 2 getting announced really makes me wanna go hard in the switch and just destroy that backlog because I’m so excited. GameStop actually didn’t even get a copy of Dynasty Warriors Origins although I preordered it so we’re gonna just wait on that one. Little disappointed I won’t lie but I’m excited to crack into it when they do get a copy. The wrestling thing this week being more of WWE on Netflix. This second week of it was way better with things like the debut of Penta and Lyra Valkyria becoming the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Here’s hoping Saturday Nights Main Event and the Royal Rumble as well as the continuing Netflix RAWs keep the good vibes going. Anime of the week gotta go to Dragon Ball Daima and Shangri La Frontier and Yakuza Fiancé and Ron Kaminohashis Forbidden Deductions and My Happy Marraige. Slotted in that last one to replace Ranma for now. Still gotta focus on the picks for Winter still dunno what we’ll do with those. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel Podcast and Remap Radio. As always yall stay safe, be cool to each other. Have a totally amazing weekend and of course Happy Gaming.
I've mostly been spreading democracy valiantly in Helldivers 2 and occasionally playing EA FC 25 (and losing).
Finished Bloomtown: A Different Story, one of a handful of indies I stayed until the end for. Started Tales of Graces f Remastered today.
@Zuljaras
Still very impressive collections (imo)
Plenty to keep you going.
It is good news indeed that the switch 2 will be backwards compatible for the most part.
