Re: You Can Now Install Linux on Your PS5, Transforming It into a Steam Machine

Slippship

As a big steam user, and ps, this has potential to be great. Each to own of course and I see some dislike the Linux based system. Imagine a dual boot, well I can 😁, I use my dual sense edge for steam games and PS5 and if steam machine can run on PS5 it helps with current rampocalypse.

I know it won't happen and my IT skills aren't good enough but for those who can I think it's good.

Not a Sony developer, doesn't have to make disc playable. Ooh I'm so angry.

Why is this a thing anyway? You have to install the whole disc no matter what, it's just there as a confirmation test when you start the game. If you are constantly changing your install base on your PS5 you are either so indecisive that maybe you should have less games or you've changed the HDD to 100GB which is hard to achieve.

I'm sure these posts are propaganda to keep Push Square clicks up, damn here I am helping them..................

Re: Hands On: The Expanse's PS5 RPG Has Serious Potential, But Its Protagonist Is a Big Problem

I have not thought male leads have been up to much for a while. Fem shep better then OG. Female in AC ODYSSEY over male, same with Valhalla. Same with Cyberpunk, and whilst I think about it Fallout 4, can't recall 3. Its either I prefer to hear the female voices over blokes or bloke voice acting is pants. They say the same dialogue after all. It's never what's on screen. I'd have all male protagonists picked from Sly in the 80's/90's. Marion Cobretti as a male shep. John Spartan as V. The voice means a lot more at times.

Remember when the Witcher 3 came out unfinished and everybody gave that hell too? No because we were still new to the post release upgrades. But now we call something Beta. I think it's a helluvan achievement what's been done. And if it's refined along the way from player feedback, all the better. If you want a game in beta play Assetto Corsa Rally, mind you that's awesome too.

Re: '$1,000+ Consoles Could Become the Norm': PS6's Price Touted to Touch Four Figures

I built a PC last year with an AM5 processor and 32gb of DDR5. By the looks of it my choice to start moving from PS to PC will be the price of a graphics card. I only had enough for a 4070 12gb. But that's good enough for Crimson Desert. I have this far failed completely to move to PC but 1000 quid consoles is a scary day. Not everyone gets a bonus allowing what I did, gaming has always been a past time, I think retro is the way ahead and relearn how awesome the PS3 was, but dual shock 3 remains pants.

Re: PS6 Rival Xbox Helix Could Cost as Much as $1,200

I think we will be going to a more PC based system on both sides of the fence. STEAM OS is sat there waiting in the wings and will at some point be a viable direction. Happy to be wrong, but the adaptability of my PC, any wheel, any HOTAS, choice of VR, it's time to stop locking systems.

Re: 'Sony Finally Understands': Over 70% of PS5 Fans Agree with Decision to Scrap PC Ports

Happier times before the Internet and all the tripe you have to wade through, we bought consoles and computers based on preference. The 48k speccy and c64 era was the first time I recall a 'war'. I had c64, my mate had speccy and we used to compare the same game on our massively different devices with that of kids in awe at what both could do. Now it's changed a bit into a place I no longer feel part of. It was always about what console you preferred by controller, interface and whatnot. Now it's about hiding behind walls and charging for the pleasure. Simple days dead, and none of my kids have bothered with consoles, they both wanted a laptop. Shame we got to here.
