Re: 9 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for January 2026 Announced

Slippship

Ridge Racer Revolution maybe. Why is premium so bad. I accidentally paid for it so kept it and the PS1 emulation is worse than any other I use, and unless you want to stream on a portal anywhere or watch movies that you can get anywhere else on other subscriptions, someone is going to remind me I can get 5% off but the price of the sub covers that. I do miss being able to play PS3 games, but not that much, because I have a PS3 upstairs and never use it...

Premium is pants, I pay my way have 3 kids and a grandkid.

Re: Best Assassin's Creed Games of All Time

I like how Rogue and Unity are connected, bit of a clever move there. AC did in a week from blockies, loved it. Ezio trilogy will always be a great moment in time but has been beaten. Origins, Odyssey then Valhalla in that order for the RPG, Valhalla being best. I loved Syndicate more than most but Edward Kenway will always have the best game. Yeah, i missed 3 out. Still to really get claws into Mirage and Shadows just feels a damp squib after GoT.

Re: Microsoft CEO Really Wants You to Stop Calling Generative AI 'Slop'

Slippship

6, 7. Does that count here. I dunno. Slop is food I got in many a naval vessel as I cross the Atlantic again. Slops is also a term used for clothing exchange, never figured out, slop comes out of the bucket if you push along the deck and it stops abruptly. Any of which holds more intelligence than the gen AI we are now paying for in more than 6 finger pictures. Go buy some DDR5 for me please I want to expand my pc. There's so much more explicit words I want to use, it's another thing we didn't ask for but in 10 years the 20 somethings can't live without. I didn't reread, errors are my own.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Most Anticipated PS5 Games of 2026?

Slippship

Code Violet. I know it will be pump, but I rarely sit in front of a PS5 anymore and just want it to be dino crisis - ish. It won't be, everyone else can hang on for dear life on GTA6 while I'm chuffed with RDR at 60FPS. Most of that list looks expensively disappointing.

Re: Talking Point: Does PS5 Have a Sequel Problem?

Slippship

I'd say we have more of a remake/remaster issue personally. Mind you RE4 was a cracker and the Thing brought back some of the PS2 greatness. The only sequel I have finished is Horrizon. With 7 basic plots nearly every game we've seen this gen is overcoming the monster, and that is the staple of nearly all games and tbh I kinda like that.

Re: Valve's Steam Machine May Not Be As Affordable As a PS5

Slippship

A lot of you guys weren't born or old enough to know what is was when I bought a PlayStation after Nintendo threw sony to the dogs. I've had at least one of each generation. But I've gone and bought a PC as PS5 didn't have a racing sim I liked, and Elite Dangerous left consoles behind. I then got a steam deck to take away and I play ALL the games I did on PS5 or PS4, mainly single-player. I would rather have a machine now I think as my PC is too gaudy for the living room and I'm not desperate for Ray tracing and 4K. There will be more like me who are the perfect audience for Steam Machine, have been drawn into the fantastic Steam ecosystem. Playstation may get a slot on the shelf but this gen has pushed me away when most of those I would buy play well enough for me on deck. Haven't bought a new game for PS5 since cyberpunk. Plus extra is enough.

Re: Poll: Does the Steam Machine Pose a Threat to PS5?

Slippship

I have a deck, I used it docked whilst away at sea because the PS5 generated too much heat in my cabin, mad as that sounds, and I would quite happily put a steam machine with its open eco system in my living room. It will increase the longevity of PSVR2 hopefully in that space as I only use it with pc now. Steam is a very good way to play and without Windows getting in the way I just hope it's not bonkersly priced.
