Just thinking about this, how can Xbox possibly expect anybody to be hyped for any showcase it has going forward, if they just cancel a bunch of them weeks after showing them off.
@rachetmarvel I do get where you're coming from. In order for an adaptation of Persona 4 or even 5 to work, they're can't tiptoe around sex and make it PG 13.
I think it’s also important to remember that Xbox’s premiere title is Halo, which redefined what a console FPS was, so it’s no surprise that its audience are more multiplayer focussed.
I'm sorry, I know that GTA 6 will likely exceed the 100gb storage limit on PS5 discs, but call it a hunch, I think GTA 6 is going to be enough of a hit for it to warrant them warrant forking money up for more discs.
It's not entirely unreasonable it comes out in 2027. Game marketing has changed a lot over the last few years. Announcing games years before they release is isn't as common as it used to be, and I for one think that's a change for the better.
@1UP-HUSKY You need to remember that for a lot of kids, this is going to be the first new GTA game that's been released in their lifetime. If you were ten when you played GTA V for the first time, you're old enough now to be hyped for GTA VI.
I try to be as platform agnostic as possible, but how can anyone possibly have any faith that Xbox are suddenly going to deliver after the years of destruction they caused with their layoffs and closures, many of which are to studios which are beloved.
Sony is no saint in this, I’m well aware, but Xbox has been so much worse.
If there was one area the PS4 flopped hard, especially compared to Xbox, it was racing games. How many good ones did it even have outside of F1 games? CTR Nitro Fuelled, Redout, Trackmania Turbo, GT Sport…….am I missing anything else?
@ShadowRJ By the way, I'm talking about everything surrounding the "controversy" of this game. There are things to be genuinely worried about, and to be fair, I don't know if the people concerned about Wolverine's success, but I'm sure at least a few of them are hopping aboard the "women in games are bad" train.
@Yor-sama the trick I believe is that Game Pass is sustainable as long as you only take into account the costs of GamePass itself, eg: the cost of getting Persona 6 on there on day one.
It doesn’t take into account the development budget or revenue generated from the games they’ve developed in order to get games onto GamePass. Probably because if they did that, they wouldn’t be able to get away with calling Game Pass profitable.
Xbox’s biggest competition isn’t Sony, it’s Microsoft. How can they regain consumer trust or try and build more of a user base if they keep on having to downsize all the time?
@AdamNovice In my opinion, the biggest loser of Septermber is going to be Control Resonent. But I imagine that several studios are bracing themselves for Wolverine and GTA VI's releases.
I'm really looking forward to this, it's great that Spyro is finally getting another new game. It'll be interesting to see where Toys For Bob go from here. Will it be Crash 5 then Syro 5?
It’s very unusual. I understand the desire for Xbox to return to exclusives, and I won’t complain if they do so, the thing is though, surly the cat is out the bag. Can you go back to exclusives after going third party? I’m not sure.
@Naughtyottsel92 The problem is that Persona's identity is so tied to it being a high school set game, this would never happen. Most we'll get is maybe a FFX2 situation for Persona 3-5.
@Naughtyottsel92 The problem there though is that being set in a high school is Persona’s entire identity. Remove the high school setting, and it’s no longer Persona (and yes, this was a thing ever since Persona 1)
Persona 1 and I think 2 as well leaned in on the horror aspects quite a bit, which sort of got lost in 4 onwards. Seems like 6 might be taking us back to the REALLY old days of Persona.
I don’t see the issue here. Both showcases were good, and we still got third party reveals in the State of Play. It’s not like that conference was trash.
@Chupa_loyzer I do agree that the combat in the Greek games was better than the Norse ones. That I do agree with, but I do think this one is looking like an improvement on the Norse games at least.
@MrGawain I can't agree with the idea that the gameplay looks the same as 2018. Freya has shown that she can jump and double jump. That alone creates a brand new dimension to the combat.
This sounds to me that the development team were probably forced into using AI to help the game somehow, and so they obliged by meeting the bare minimum requirements.
Lacking gore? Have we been watching the same footage?
Kratos not being the same character anymore? The guy who tried to commit suicide in his very first scene, because he wants to move on from the atrocities he committed?
Strange how we have Carnage but no Venom. It’s also weird that it took this long for Green Goblin to get into a Marvel fighting game. Great additions though, can’t complain.
@RainbowGazelle in fairness, Scarlet Nexus came out after the PS5 launched, and pretty much every game in that time period has higher sales on PS5 than on PS4.
@AdamNovice You can't compare Astro Bot to Concrete Genie or Gravity Rush 2.
Astro Bot has way more accolades and way more sales than either of those games. I like Gravity Rush 2 (not as much as 1, but still liked it) but that game debuted at number 17 in the UK. It wasn't even the best selling new release. It lost out to Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS.

Re: 'We're Not Worried': Onimusha Producer Stares Down September's Insane PS5 Release Schedule
Onimusha has the Capcom hype going for it. They've been on a roll for nearly a decade now, they've earned a lot of trust from me.

Re: 'Likely the Largest Single Layoff Event in Gaming History': Ominous Words as Xbox 'Bloodbath' Looms
Screw Xbox and screw Microsoft.
Here's hoping that these developers will be able to find stability after the bloodbath.

Re: Persona Is Reportedly the Latest Game Series to Be Adapted for TV
A lot of questions to be asked here. Starting off, which game do you start off with?
Not enough people care about 1 or 2, and I don't think 3's plot translates well to a TV show.
It's probably going to be 4 or 5. I'm guessing 4, as I think that's the easiest to adapt into a TV show.

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds May Not Have Sold Well, But It Gets More Awesome by the Month
@nomither6 I wouldn’t go that far. Of the four Sonickart rracers, I’d rank it second best. But yeah, Mario Kart and CTR are a lot better.

This has got to be the most pathetic attempt to start a THEY'RE GOING WOKE grifter campaign that I have ever seen.

Re: Wolverine Isn't Out Until September, But It's Already One of PS5's Best-Selling Games
@PuppetMaster Onimusha does have the Capcom wave going for it.
I think Silent Hill Townfall might struggle due to it being the third SH game in as many years.
Ace Combat 8 is in a unique enough genre where I think it will be a steady seller long after launch (the same way AC7 was).
Control Resonant is what I'm most worried for.
Re: Now Spyro Is Back, Dev Wants Him to Stay for 'Many New Games'
@themightyant That one bridge level was the biggest victim in Crash N. Sane's jump physics changes.
And honestly, Crash 1 as a whole isn't a great example on how great Crash is. Crash 2 and 3 are what truely made the Crash games special.

I'm predicting Wolverine to dominate September, then GTA V to dominate October...
I do hope Onimusha and Ace Combat will find their audience.

Re: Persona 6 Details Confirm Japanese School Setting, 'Supernatural Adventure', and 'Bold Story'
@Naughtyottsel92 Yes, Persona 2 had varied age groups, but I believe the adult protagonist in that game was a school teacher.

Re: Poll: Who Had the Best Not-E3 Livestream This Week?
Yeah, all three were pretty good. I guess I would rank them
SGF
Xbox
Then SoP in last, but that’s no insult here. All of them had good things to show.
