Persona 6 Release Date Rumour

When do you think Persona 6 will release? Next year? 2028? Even later than that? It's perhaps difficult to imagine that it's even remotely close, given the game's tiny teaser trailer.

But I'm here to offer some hope. A seemingly innocuous post on Tumblr has been picked up by the rabid Persona fanbase, in which a video game translator claims that they're working on Persona 6.

Here's the thing: localisation efforts tend to kick into gear towards the end of a project's development timeline. In Atlus' case, translators are typically brought on roughly one year out from release.

If there really is something to this, then the suggestion is that Persona 6 is targeting the second half of 2027 for its launch.

And funnily enough, previous whispers — that date back as far as last year — had Persona 6 earmarked for September 2027. It's all lining up... maybe.

Alright, so if the game's only 12 months away, give or take, then why was the reveal trailer so vague? Well, I think it's highly likely that Atlus doesn't want to overlap with Persona 4 Revival to any significant degree.

The remake's releasing on the 18th February, and so all of parent company SEGA's marketing resources are going to be pumped into that first. Once it's out of the way, we're all but guaranteed to hear more about Persona 6.

Again, it does line up from a business perspective, mirroring Atlus' schedule from 2024, when it launched Persona 3 Reload in February, and then Metaphor: ReFantazio in October.

What do you make of this, then? Does late 2027 seem about right? Or are you unconvinced? Place your bets in the comments section below.
