Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds May Not Have Sold Well, But It Gets More Awesome by the Month

Speaking of Space Channel 5, I finally actually played it after 15 million Ulala crossover appearances and I’ve never wanted to like a game more despite being genuinely painful to play. I assume it’s just because I wasn’t playing on a CRT but the timing required is brutal. The music is indeed incredible though.

I played this a lot at launch and over the Christmas period, think I’ll jump back in especially with the crazy taxi update. I was hoping for more tracks though similar to how they did with mk8 but guessing not with the sales.

Amigo's car is lush.

Nights being added made me really really want to buy the game.

I gotta be honest, it's sad the game isn't selling super well cause Sega is doing a great job with the characters they're adding.

Anyone else feel like they should do HD remasters of the All-Stars Racing games?

Figured for sure they'd do either Yu or Aigis in this batch given they did two Yakuza characters.

OK now this is a bit more like it, the add on content has been a mixed bag for me but this is more along the lines of what I'd be hoping for, though a shame we aren't getting courses based upon them. This is why I still much prefer Sonic All Star Racing Transformed.

it’s the worst kart racer i’ve ever played. doesn’t hold a candle to CTR or Mario Kart Wii and 8

@wildcat_kickz me, I still play Transformed and much more than Crossworlds, albeit on PC so I can get 60fps. I'd love a modern console version of it

@nomither6 I wouldn’t go that far. Of the four Sonickart rracers, I’d rank it second best. But yeah, Mario Kart and CTR are a lot better.

@nomither6 You need to play Atari Karts my friend.

Always nice to have more characters thrown in here. Hopefully characters from Shinobi, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage can make it at some point. And kinda out there, but I want Kenshiro from Fist of the North to be in it. Sega made FOTNS games before and it wouldn’t be the 1st time Sonic and Kenshiro have been in a game together.

The only things I don't like about CrossWorlds is that (with the exception Hatsune Miku) none of the DLC characters are voiced and there are not themed tracks for them. If I had a decent gaming PC there is the "Speak DLC" mod that adds voice lines to all of the DLC characters.

This is so cool! 🤩 I think we could get Beat or Gum when they eventually reveal the new JSR title.

Hold on a second...either Axel got himself a new cab or he managed to fix the one that got smashed by an asteroid. After all, wasn't he the owner of the vehicle with the license plate number 1NOM155 that ended up in the path of an asteroid during the events of Sonic Colors?

@nessisonett Oh yeah the Space Channel games are no joke, I had both Dreamcast versions and never managed to beat them 😅 I do like watching other people be good at them.

@Juanalf They really do demand almost perfection. And I love rhythm games too, just found that way more difficult!

It's a very fun game, but does need more courses, especially Sega themed ones like Transformed had. The free racers and music are genuinely awesome, but feels a little held back by lack of tracks currently.

100% id buy an Mario kart 8 esque course expansion pass day one if Sega decided to do it.

@Uberjinks same. Bring it on - "Sega classics track pack"

I mean most of the characters seem a bit eh. I get it not renewing prior IPs/characters/music (or Sega IPs most don't even know about even if many fans may care for them) but most of the new characters give me 'were desperate' vibes of business deals to make then caring.

I don't know what to think of this game whether to buy it or not. If the core gameplay sure, the characters and other stuff doesn't interest me at all.

Same with Stuntman Hollywood, the movie licenses don't interest me at all, the gameplay does. So they can keep trying with 'selling points' but most of them aren't appealing at all. But I'm not the target audience either so that's clear why. I inform myself on some things, but I still find a lot I've never heard of or don't care about.

@Yor-sama We can only wish, I hope so they need to be there some day, those IPs deserve more.

@Almost_Ghostly yeah it is a bit much to have characters without tracks or details in the tracks or other things to suit.

A speak mod/DLC says a lot in the PC space, they can pull lines from any of the games or make custom voice lines but Sega can't be bothered to do the work, that's just sad. The community would go all out with anything for them to say, from any game, or voice anything they care that much. Sega having the licenses, voices, likeness, whatever and they can't even do on point or placeholder ones, sigh.

@Yor-sama Agreed I'd go for those.
