Re: Battlefield 2042 PS5, PS4 Pre-Load Available Now

Scarla88

Nice, will download now. Finished Vanguard’s campaign and trophies (A few zombies trophies left), reached pre season level cap so BF will come at a perfect time! Looking forward to see what the release version of BF will be like!

Vanguard, finished campaign and I thought it was great! Just running through a few missed campaign trophies.

Multiplayer is much better than in beta and they have improved so much from then. Enjoying the new patrol mode and blitz options!

Played a round of zombies and looks interesting.

For me at least it’s better than Cold War and I’m liking Vanguard a lot.

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Will Now Offer Free PS4 to PS5 Upgrade, Sony Confirms

Scarla88

The way I read it is if you want to play on PS4 and have the "Free" upgrade, you still need to buy the digital deluxe or collectors as these are the only cross version options according to their new FAQ.

Can I upgrade my Horizon Forbidden West PS4 version to the PS5 version?

"To access both the PS4 and PS5 versions of Horizon Forbidden West, you need to purchase the Digital Deluxe, Collector’s, or Regalla Editions. Dual entitlement does not apply to the Standard and Special Editions."

Re: Seagate FireCuda 530 Is the First Third-Party SSD Compatible with PS5

Scarla88

No way I'm getting anything at those prices. I'm fortunate enough to have decent internet so I don't mind having to download games as and when I play them. Would have liked the extra storage for games that I play every now and then like sports games, but not at those GB to £ prices!

I mean 1tb is half the cost of the PS5 and 2tb almost the full price! Crazy lol.

Re: PS5 Hits 10 Million Sales, Is the Fastest-Selling PlayStation Console Ever

Scarla88

Got mine on launch. I was one of those silly people camped outside my local Game store at 6am waiting 2nd in line the morning after the PS5 announcement.

A friend of mine recently pre-ordered a PS5 in Game a few weeks back as he was following all of the local Game stores on Twitter in his area. One of them tweeted they were taking pre-orders and was over there like a flash lol. So a tip for those still wanting one, follow your local games stores on twitter.

Re: Talking Point: Is Free-to-Play the Future for Sports Games?

Scarla88

So basically for those that actually buy new sports games its pretty much split down the middle.

Yes (15%) + Yes Occasional (7%) = 22%

No (17%) + No Occasional (11%) = 28%

By a small margin of just 6% of people who regularly buy annual sports games prefer to pay and not free to play. It will be interesting to see how this new format will work and if it will sway people one way or the other in future.

Re: Talking Point: Is Free-to-Play the Future for Sports Games?

Scarla88

I play certain sports games all year long for 100's of hours, so happy to pay each year for my favourite annual titles. Plus a lot of F2P games I have played need some form of payment to get the full experience. I would rather just pay upfront. I never buy fluff or loot boxes anyway and I'd imagine there would be even more of that and advertising in a F2P model.

Re: With the Steam Deck Announced, This Is What a Next-Gen PSP Could Be

Scarla88

I'm defiantly getting the Steam deck.

The main advantage to me are that most of the Steam games I own, I can play on it when out and about and I don't need to repurchase the same games on the Steam deck that I already own on Steam, unlike some other platforms.

Also I never really enjoyed Nintendo like games and couldn't see the point repurchasing other third party games I already owned either on PS or Steam to play on the switch.

At least with Steam Deck, I'll be able to at least play most of my Steam games on the move which seems a win to me at least.

Re: State of Play Livestream Confirmed for Thursday, Featuring Deathloop

Scarla88

No interest at all in Deathloop, I won't bother to watch this one.

It's been a year since the GoW2, FF, and Gran Turismo etc were streamed on the PS5 reveal and yet nothing much or at all since....

I hope there is a big stream event soon rather than these little 30 minute State of Plays featuring 1 game as I would like an update on the big first party games announced a year ago.

@mrtennis1990

Wow, if you only just got a PS I envy you. So many great games to play.

If you enjoy single player RPG's like The Last of us then I would suggest looking at.

1. The Last of us Part 2 (Once you finish the first one).
2. Marvel's Spiderman and Miles Morales (Both excellent)
3. Horizon Zero Dawn.
4. Ghost of Tsushima.
5) God of War.
6) Day's Gone.
7) Uncharted series.
8) Death Stranding.

These will last you for a long while and are all great PS games Imo.

Re: Back 4 Blood, A Plague Tale: Requiem, More Will Be Full-Price on PS5, PS4

Scarla88

I broke down last week and bought a XSX as my local Game keeps tweeting when they get some stock in which made it easy to grab one physically.

I'm going to continue to buy most 1st party Sony games that interest me and also any third party games (Not on Gamepass) on my PS5 as I am heavily invested in PS.

But there are now just too many games now on Gamepass that I want to play and now after E3 that I will want to play in the future that it just seems a no brainer to me.

Re: Absolutely Every PS5 Is Sold Out, Says Sony

Scarla88

What people also I have found don't realise is its not just Sony's assembly plant that's involved. There is also the GPU, CPU manufacturer along with any other out of house parts that have to be built elsewhere. Some people seem to think it is just Sony's factory that could be the bottleneck, but the problem might be with a part built elsewhere.

Also with Christmas and the Pandemic, Ports around the world are jam packed full, so shipping finished PS5's and or their components to the Sony factory becomes an issue
