Secondly, Sony would be far better off if they didn't sell hardware and instead allowed access to the PlayStation store on as many devices as possible.

Bespoke console hardware will be irrelevant after the PS6 generation. And everyone should be excited about that.

@ilyn Hardware itself doesn't make any money for Sony and Microsoft. They're sold at a loss.

And the people who will make the plastic boxes are the same people who make laptops.

I own an Xbox and am able to play all 5 Forza Horizon games. It genuinely does annoy me that non Xbox gamers can't access them all.

@dskatter Both Sony and Microsoft should get out the hardware business. It costs them billions and if they both just focussed that money on games the world would be better.

@16BitHero Mad Max was one of my favourite games from the PS4/XB1 generation. Massively underrated and it surprised me that it wasn't a huge hit. A gorgeous, open world game based on an established and well liked movie franchise.

I was aware of this but for some reason I was sure that it had been confirmed for PlayStation and Xbox. Wishful thinking obviously.

For a site like this which seems to revel in perving over Stellar Blade and all number of creepy anime games, this review seems weird.

And I lost count of the number of pop culture references. 😂

@IamJT It's an update for a game released a year ago not a Beta test. Also, I played it on Game Pass, enjoyed it and then bought it for £15 with a Game Pass discount. I'll get the update for free.

I think it's a brilliant game and PlayStation only gamers should definitely play it. But the fact is that they'll all be paying full price.

@MrPeanutbutterz Because the updates aren't part of a Beta testing programme. The developer is adding content and features post launch. Quite simple.

I really enjoyed this game and am glad more people will get to play it. Obsidian had an amazing 2025.

@MrPeanutbutterz That is the easiest solution to their problem though. There are many, many Xbox games that will never be on PlayStation and if someone wants to play them they should buy an Xbox.

I'm fortunate that I have both platforms and don't have to miss out. Personally I would love to be able to play any game I want without having to buy multiple pieces of hardware but that isn't the world we live in. Yet.

I still ultimately believe that there won't be bespoke hardware from either Sony or Microsoft after the next Xbox and PS6 and we'll be able access any digital storefront we want from a generic PC in a box under our TVs. At that point all that will matter are the games and all of the pointless system loyalty can disappear. I cannot wait.

And people wonder why the likes of Xbox, PlayStation, Tencent, Amazon, PIF and Netflix are spending billions on live service games and crazy acquisitions.

This isn't the games industry I remember enjoying.

It still seems like an absolute joke that the slim faceplates don't fit the Pro console. It would have been a very easy thing for Sony to do.

Also, it's really weird to say that it's a former Xbox exclusive when it has been readily available on PS5 for nearly 2 years. Seems like an unnecessary point to make.

I've never had a single issue with LRG and have used them for many years. The most recent purchase being MK Legacy Kollection on Xbox.

I'll definitely be getting this.

Personally, I would like to be able to play any game I want and not have to buy several pieces of hardware. I genuinely don't understand why anyone wouldn't want that too.

@wildcat_kickz I'm loving that you used Hitchcock as an example because I would liken TLOU on PS5 to Psycho with Vince Vaughan. An almost shot for shot copy of the original Anthony Perkins movie. Same dialogue. Same scenes. Same soundtrack.

@wildcat_kickz But, seeing as we're here, I still believe that a remaster is polishing the original content to look or sound better and a remake is creating something new with the same spirit of the original content.

Resident Evil 2 is a remake of the PS1 original. Whereas The Last of Us Part 1 is a remaster of the PS3 original.
