I remember it vividly. The initial price point was an absolute joke to me and to be told that people will want to work harder so they could afford to buy a PS3 was the peak of Sony's hubris.

That being said, the PS3 is still my favourite PlayStation ever.

Still my favourite video game series ever. Playing 1, 2 and 3 on my PS3 were some of the best times I've had as a gamer.

I loved 4 (visually stunning to this day) but I think it's probably the weakest. I preferred Lost Legacy.

I'm going fully digital after PS5/Xbox Series X. Switch 2 will be my last physical game collection.

@PuppetMaster I completely get people looking back to older generations for fun. My PS3 has been my main PlayStation console for the last couple of years because I've been pretty disappointed with the PS5 generation.

It was difficult getting used to the load times and DualShock 3 again but the quality and quantity of games still amazes me.

Puppeteer is incredible.

@HonestHick I'm not talking about cloud gaming. I mean a PC in a box with an enormous SSD sitting under our TVs. Scaled back to provide a pure console experience which can access the Xbox store, PS store etc. You'll be buying and downloading them to the SSD to play. Not via cloud.

All made by third parties like Asus are doing right now. And as I predicted they would be a few years ago on this very site.

@Oram77 Generic PC in a box. Like the current handheld PCs but even more streamlined and in a set top box under your TV. You'll be able to access any storefront and buy games wherever you want to.

@HonestHick Exactly this. I can't wait till neither Sony, Nintendo or Xbox makes hardware anymore. Then we can just focus on the games.

It was clearly a combination of panic buying after the Xbox/ABK acquisition and the dream of becoming a live service powerhouse that inspired the purchase.

It's still staggering though that they decided that price for Bungie was good value.

I always assumed that Grove Street Games were part of R*. You know, because of the Grove Street in their name.

As I've said here before, a remake collection of 3, 4, 5 and 6 would have made far more sense than what they're actually doing.

I wonder if the fact that 3 and 4 are tied to Xbox has stopped that somehow.

Unpopular opinion but I actually really like this game.

This is absolutely shocking from Sony. There's absolutely no reason for this at all. It's second hand hardware that they've already made money on and don't need to manufacture again.

I genuinely cannot wait until I don't have to buy multiple boxes to play games.

Sony (not necessarily PlayStation) have been particularly bad when it comes to predicting where any industry is heading.

I just wish Sony had supported PSVR2 more. I think they dropped it quicker than Nintendo did with the Virtual Boy.

I could quite easily see this being a Switch exclusive. It has the biggest install base and this game suits the target audience far better.

I recently upgraded my broadband to 5GHz and realised afterwards that my PS3 can't connect to it as it only works with 2.4GHz. It's not a massive concern for my PS3 because I barely have any digital games on it.

I have way more digital games for my PS5 though so this story is very worrying if true. If Wi-Fi standards change in the future it pretty much means that my PS5 is a very expensive, oddly shaped paperweight.

Uncharted is my favourite series in all of video gaming so I'd be really interested to see how bad this actually was.

Also, Way of The Warrior is Naughty Dog's worst game.

This seems like a well made game but it's definitely a niche product. This will be forgotten about fairly quickly compared to the main PlayStation lineup unfortunately.

My second favourite Street Fighter game after SF3. Unfortunately this price drop is about 10 years too late for me.

@cainhurst94 It upsets me in the same way that magazines used to give a game something like 98%. And then a different game would get 97%. ☹️

Does anyone else find the 9.25 out of 10 score deeply disturbing? Maybe it's my OCD.

I have so many amazing memories of reading through full colour NES/SNES manuals and my cousin being really jealous because all of his Master System/Mega Drive manuals were in black and white.

This has to be a glitch. I can't see anyone at Sony actually implementing this on purpose.

@PuppetMaster Fair enough. And as I pointed out, there are plenty of games there that plenty of people wouldn't care if they lost.

But there are others who would absolutely miss a lot of them.

One of the other things that Push Square haven't mentioned is that Xbox are looking at new acquisitions again. Who knows where that could go.

These are just some of the IP Xbox own and some, like Blur, never became major series. But potentially could in the future.

A lot of these games won't appeal to a lot of gamers but there's more than enough in that list to differentiate between Xbox and PlayStation if they wanted to and actually get people into Xbox again.

The Xbox Series X|S generation is currently 3rd out of the the 4 Xbox generations when it comes to hardware sales. But it is by far the most profitable because of digital sales and Game Pass.

The PS5 is currently 4th out of the 5 PlayStation generations when it comes to hardware sales. But it is by far the most profitable because of digital sales and PS+.

I'm not seeing a huge disparity when it comes to actual sales performance against your own sales.

If (and it's a very big IF) Xbox decided to double down on exclusivity and take that entire list of games away from other consoles (minus CoD), then the next generation could look very different.

I love a good 4/5/6 out of 10 game.

It's also a new CEO, changing what she thinks hasn't worked in the past. Shouldn't she be allowed to talk to her staff, the media and Xbox fans about her plans?

@BAMozzy Exactly this! This is what I have been dreaming of for years! But some people here just don't understand the logic of it and call me an Xbox fanboy or a PlayStation hater.

It will happen eventually and I really can't wait.

@BAMozzy As I've said here for many years, when bespoke hardware disappears, everyone can stop arguing about boxes and play whatever games they want by buying them from whichever digital store they want.

@ilyn Regulators in Europe (apart from the CMA) didn't put up much of a fight against the ABK acquisition.

I'm also fairly sure that apart from CoD, no-one would be allowed to tell them what they could with any IP they own. The deals are done and the franchises are owned. Their property to do whatever they want with and port wherever they want.
