Re: Feb 2026 USA Sales: PS5 Outsells Nintendo's New Switch 2 for a Second Consecutive Month

SMJ

I'm going to look for facts after I write this.

The Nintendo Switch has outsold the PS4 and PS5 combined in Japan.

And for those "fanboys" saying "Japan loves handhelds", the PS VITA sold as many in its lifetime as the Switch 2 has in 8 months in Japan.

If only Sony made another handheld. That's nonsense.

And these are my objective comments.

Sony "found" another 5 million PS2 sales down the back of the couch to try and ensure they had the top selling system ever. 😂

The Nintendo Switch is the best selling system ever and Sony knows it.

The Switch 2 will easily outsell PS5 and PS6 (the last ever PlayStation) and then everyone can just stop with stupid console wars and just enjoy games.

@Scottyy And do you think Sony deserve a slap in the face? The PS5 is the least interesting, least first party supported, most overrated console Sony have ever produced. They have overcharged for the console and accessories from the beginning. Achieved record profits by milking fans like myself and released a vr headset that they charged a premium price for, to then give no first party support.

They've spunked billions of the money we paid them into a live service circle of hell that none of us wanted.

They've given us the slowest first party release schedule ever.

Do they need a slap too?

Re: Fastidiously Multiformat Square Enix Skips PS5 with Yet Another Game

SMJ

This article (and the comment section) is full of sour grapes. There's no evidence that Xbox have paid for some kind of exclusivity yet everyone is now attacking them.

Since the Switch launched, most of the SquareEnix JRPG output has made that the lead platform and then later released elsewhere.

If SE are skipping PlayStation with this game (even if a limited time thing), I would say it has more to do with their current relationship with Sony and less to do with anyone else.

Re: Xbox Targets 2027 for Project Helix Dev Kits, Calling Rumoured PS6 Release Into Question

I still believe that this generation has been the most underwhelming I've ever seen (from both PlayStation and Xbox) and I struggle with the idea of new consoles arriving any time soon.

But I also think that people have become too obsessed with tiny, incremental improvements to graphics and this seems to be all anyone talks about anymore.

RE Requiem on Switch 2 has been slated by so many people because it's visually less impressive than the PS5 version. Absolute madness.

Looking to the future, I actually think that the Xbox Helix is a far more interesting proposition compared to what we know so far about the PS6.

Sony's approach seems very iterative whereas Microsoft appears to be doing something very different.

It'll be exciting to see how things pan out, even if I don't think we've even scratched the surface of what this gen is capable of.

Re: Poll: Has PS5's Dynamic Pricing Debacle Changed Your Relationship with the PS Store at All?

SMJ

@Rich33 The difference of buying a game or a car from a specific retailer is that you have the option to shop around and find the best price. These prices will likely be based on the physical availability of the items.

On the PlayStation store, you don't have the option to shop around to find a better deal and because digital games have an infinite supply, the price isn't affected by availability.

Re: Hypothetically, Could Sony Stop Its PS5 Ports from Running on Xbox Helix?

SMJ

@StitchJones Ridiculous and childish comment. Xbox joined the console market 7 years after PlayStation.

PlayStation joined the console market 11 years after Nintendo and 17 years after Atari.

So what? Why does that matter?

I would also argue that Xbox have innovated more successfully than PlayStation during their time in the industry.

Re: Metal Gear Solid Delta Already One of the Best-Selling Versions of MGS3

@GirlVersusGame Never watched a single one. And now I've got to a point in my life where I refuse to because I feel it makes me special. They used to be on TV all the time when I was a kid but I was too busy playing with toys and video games so it never happened. I had the Super Star Wars trilogy on my SNES so I feel like I know the story anyway.

I always watch V For Vendetta on the 5th of November.

PC in a box is the way the industry is heading and personally, I can't wait.

At that point, people can stop arguing over machines and just buy and enjoy whatever games they want. The cream will rise to the top and software will be king.

Whoever has the best library of games (whether it be PlayStation or Xbox) will be the winner.
