@PlatinumMikey I specifically said that Sony's output has been incredible up to now. I have been gaming longer than you and on this site longer than you.
You're still avoiding the exact point I made. Sony's output has objectively been terrible over the last 12 months. Why are you defending that?
And stop trying to get into a silly fanboy argument "bro".
@PlatinumMikey Oh don't start that argument. Sony bought every studio that makes their games.
And Microsoft buying a huge publisher doesn't stop Sony releasing games does it? I didn't mention Xbox once but to defend Sony's pitiful output you've decided to bring them into the mix as if there's a cause and effect between the two.
@AdamNovice They haven't released a first party exclusive since Astro Bot. And by September it will be a full 12 months. As a fellow PlayStation fan, don't you think they should be doing better than that?
@AdamNovice DS2 will eventually be on Xbox. GoY will mean that it's an entire year since the last first party exclusive. Sony has always been (rightly so) lauded for its exclusive games. Their output recently has been piss poor.
Amazing. Yesterday people were saying that it's great to see games arriving on PlayStation regardless of whether they're multiplatform. Now people are getting angry that a game might be announced on Xbox first (even though it will obviously be multiplatform).
It seems to me that certain PlayStation gamers don't just want games for their system, but they don't want anyone else to have them. And that's just pathetic.
I really don't care whether Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo buy companies. In my head it's fine because they have a proven track record within the industry as game makers and hardware manufacturers. Even Meta have contributed a lot towards the industry.
Tencent, Amazon and Google. Those guys I have a problem with.
"Brilliant" is a ridiculous overstatement. It's also hilarious how many people here will scream about how wonderful Sony are for their first party exclusives, and then claim how first party exclusives aren't important in a show like this.
I genuinely find it amazing how often FromSoftware are regarded as one of the best in the industry. If any other developer consistently produced games with as many bugs and performance issues, they would be slaughtered in the press.
But not FS. They are lauded time and time again even though most of their games have exactly the same style, loop and broken performance.
I really think that every PlayStation only gamers should watch Power On: The Story of Xbox. It's incredibly eye opening and absolutely relates to PlayStation. It's a wonderful documentary.
@PlatinumMikey I had to sell my PS5 a few months ago because I lost my job. When I got a new job I treated myself to the slim model at discount last week. Perhaps, I would have justified the Pro price point if I still had the original to trade in/sell.
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoy the Pro. Hopefully the upcoming showcase will give us both reasons to be happy and games to enjoy.
My friend has a Pro and I'm yet to see anything that has made me want to upgrade. I sold my launch PS5 a few months ago and bought a new slim model the other day with the recent Β£90 discount. I toyed with the idea of going for the Pro but really don't see the need.
Maybe it's my old eyes but I'm glad I've stuck with the standard model.
It's bizarre that this generation Xbox has been the least successful of the 3, yet has been far more consumer friendly than either PlayStation or Nintendo.
I'm a big fan of 5/6/7 out of 10 games. I really enjoyed Wanted Dead and Evil West and despite the completely different setting, it's giving me those kind of vibes.
I have NSO and Game Pass. I gave up on PS+ completely about a year ago because I never used it and there were no games that interested me that I didn't already own.
It still annoys me that cloud saves are locked behind the subscription but it's still not enough for me to subscribe again.
Of the 3 services, PS+ is by far the worst.
NSO bugs me because I have no option to buy classic games like I used to via Virtual Console.
Game Pass is easily the best given the day one releases and discounts to buy games I like in the subscription.
I'm not suggesting Sony should copy Game Pass but they need to do something to make it worthwhile. Or maybe they don't. They're in such a strong position that they're able to get away with the bare minimum and people will still lap it up.
I think even the most diehard PlayStation fan would admit that the acquisition of Bungie was a huge mistake. As @get2sammyb has said, Sony were probably spooked into making a big purchase after Microsoft went shopping.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but it genuinely upsets me how much better that money could have been spent. If acquisitions were on the table, I can think of at least 20 developers I would rather see Sony buy.
@Ilyn My point still stands that this is a nothing article about a game that hasn't even been confirmed for PS5 yet.
I'm absolutely certain it will arrive but does it need to be written about until then? There are plenty of other people here that feel the same.
I won't even speak any further about the Switch 2 comparison article. π
I don't agree with the "stories" on any site that are pure guesswork but I'm not a huge fan of Final Fantasy so didn't bother to comment. I really like Avowed and hope that PlayStation only gamers enjoy it as much as I did.
I'm really hoping they remaster MK9. I was playing it a couple of months ago on PS3 (in 3D) and while the graphics have aged a little, the gameplay is still fantastic. Add a few new characters and some more finishing moves and I'd buy it day one.
@get2sammyb 1st party games are games that have been developed by in-house studios. That's the way it has been since the industry started. Sony trying redefine the meaning to suit their own agenda is irrelevant.

@PlatinumMikey Okay bro. Whatever you need to tell yourself bro.
They've taken a year off. πππ΄

Re: PS5's Brilliant New State of Play Breaks Records for Sony
@PlatinumMikey Yes it's a fact that Microsoft bought Bethesda. They also bought ABK.
Sony bought Bungie.
Everyone knows these things! They weren't secret acquisitions! π
I'm not skirting any facts. You however won't talk about the fact that Sony's output has been awful.

@ButterySmooth30FPS No they're not. Unfortunately.
Re: Black Myth: Wukong's Secret PS5 Exclusivity Saga Rages Again
@wiiware Well as someone who owns an Xbox, I buy games. I buy lots of games on Xbox. The perception that Xbox gamers only use Game Pass is false.

Re: Xbox's Forza Horizon 5 Is Cleaning Up on PS5 Right Now
For everyone complaining about the micro transactions, you don't have to buy them.
For everyone else, enjoy the game. It's brilliant.
I'm just glad I have all five FH games on Xbox as licensing means that's highly unlikely on either my PS5 or Switch or Switch 2 (when I buy one).
Re: Reaction: Sony Finally Understands the Assignment with One of the Best State of Plays of the PS5 Era
Some of the games really interested me. But once again it was almost entirely propped up by third parties.

Re: Sony's Marketing the Massive Improvements PS5 Pro Makes to Forza Horizon 5
@PlatinumMikey Don't get me wrong, I can see some differences in certain games. The price gap just isn't justifiable for me.
I upgraded to a PS4 Pro, and Xbox One X and a Switch OLED and definitely saw value in them.
I'm happy sitting out this upgrade and waiting for the PS6. Especially as cross gen is likely to be a big thing next time as well.
Re: Sony's Marketing the Massive Improvements PS5 Pro Makes to Forza Horizon 5
@PlatinumMikey Fair enough. If you can see the difference then I hope you enjoy. π

With Shinobi, Terminator 2D New Fate and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, the next 12 months are going to be amazing for me! I love a good 2D action game.
Re: Reaction: There's Never Been a Better Time to Buy a PS5
@nomither6 I really do. The slim is uglier in so many ways. The OG PS5 was a weird looking system anyway (less so the digital version).
But the slim manages to make it worse with it's exposed fans and concave middle.
Don't even get me started on the plastic feet stand things!
But it does play Uncharted. So swings and roundabouts.

I sold my launch model PS5 a few months ago because I lost my job and I've been playing on my PS3 ever since.
I started a new job a week ago and instantly caved when I saw the Β£90 discount on the slim disc model. It arrived this morning. π

It's not as bad as the Nintendo eShop but something should be done about it. Genuinely indie titles are getting lost in a sea of crap.
Sony and Nintendo probably don't care because they're making money regardless, but for their customers, it's incredibly frustrating.

Re: PS5 First-Party Game Sales Will Increase Over Next Year, Sony Says
@Godot25 Metroid Dread is a 2nd party game. It was developed by an external developer using a Nintendo IP. Nintendo partnered with them.
Metroid Prime 4 is a 1st party game. It was developed by a studio owned by Nintendo.
I don't care what Nintendo says in their earnings report, the above 2 things are different.
