The whole AI debate kind of reminds me of the DLC debate a couple of generations ago. People were angry and upset initially but quickly accepted that it's inevitable and made their peace with it.

I have no issue with AI taking away the grunt work of it means that developers can focus on creating things that entertain.

I completely agree that MS could have done a lot better in early optimisation. For me personally though, I'm not too precious about games needing to be 60fps as a minimum. Hellblade 2 certainly isn't the kind of fast paced game that really benefits from it. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have. But it would never stop me from playing/buying a game I wanted to.

Some people get way too swept up crying about numbers that have nothing to do with art style, creativity and fun.

Cruis'n Blast on Switch was the last game like this I really enjoyed.

@DarkTron Agreed. I never once said it was a bargain or a rip off. People here seem to be pretty angry though as if Meta and Xbox should have done more.

@SeaDaVie Whether or not people already have a controller is irrelevant. This bundle includes one and the Elite headstrap. To get those separately puts this on par and it's a limited edition which will likely have better resale value.

@DarkTron I have the Quest 3 Elite headstrap with battery because it's the only one that fits into the official case. I've had several other cases that were crap because the controllers would rattle around and, in the case of the Venom one, it turned the power on when you zipped it up.

You also didn't include the 3 months of Game Pass and 3 months of Meta Quest+.

@SeaDaVie The current bundle is £299 and doesn't include an Xbox controller or the Elite headstrap. To buy these separately would be over £100. Then you also get the Game Pass and Quest+ subscriptions thrown in.

I really don't get the negativity here and some people seem to be deliberately choosing to miss the point.

It's an Xbox branded Quest 3S designed purely to promote Xbox cloud gaming and Game Pass. You're able to play Xbox games on a giant screen and away from your TV. It comes with an Xbox controller, Quest Elite Strap, 3 months of Game Pass and 3 months of Meta Quest+.

I've used my Quest 3 to play Xbox games and it's been brilliant. It also has a far stronger library of games compared to PSVR2 (if VR is your thing).

It's so weird to me that the PS3, my favourite PlayStation generation, created such a loss.

It's weird how Sony are being quite strict about console generations with this, yet keep managing to find an extra few million PS2 sales down the back of the sofa, just as Switch creeps closer to beating it. 😂

@MFTWrecks Well unfortunately, Sony are struggling to release one game per year.

@nomither6 People play games. The more people who play games outside of PlayStation, the more Sony should be worried. The more people buy games outside of PlayStation, the more Sony should be worried.

It's a simple fact that if people are spending time and money NOT on PlayStation that Sony should be worried and not be so pretentious to think otherwise.

Once Sony's exclusively/publishing deal is up then there's no reason to think they would have any say on which platforms the game releases.

@ZeroSum Nintendo has actually been more liberal about things than Sony over the entire Switch generation.

@MFTWrecks @Medic_alert Exactly this! Virtually all light gun games would be amazing in VR and I have no idea why it isn't happening.

They would look fantastic on a giant floating screen.

House of The Dead Overkill and the Umbrella Chronicles games would be my personal top choices.

@AdamNovice I absolutely adore my PSVR2 (and VR in general) but you're absolutely right. Sony missed a huge opportunity by not making some straightforward ports of VR1 games. I would have picked up so many of those games with the increased control and VR2 improvements.

I've been saying that Microsoft will do this for the last 2 years and everyone laughed at me. Sony will follow suit after the PS6.

This seems like a pretty foolhardy comment. Surely any time or money spent on Nintendo games and consoles means less time and money for people to spend on Sony games and consoles?

@NEStalgia This exactly! Obviously Sony want to make as much money as possible, but to be so blatant about your intentions is strange to me.

Rather than aim for creating something of merit that people are willing to spend their hard earned money on, it's like they're fine with churning out any piece of rubbish if it brings in regular revenue through micro transactions etc.

I'm not saying Sony should keep doing the same old thing as they've always done - they're at their best when they try and innovate - but this live service chase has really dented my perception of PlayStation as a brand. In fact, they've really disappointed me for most of this generation. For me, the last 12 months have pretty much been a disaster as a PlayStation fan. I'm really hoping that things turn around in the next 12 months.

That's clearly a PS5 slim, not a launch model.

@Anya-chan Microsoft will still be in business long after you and I have been dead for 100 years.

I would love to see a new Sega console too but it's never going to happen. ☹️ I really think they should revisit the mini consoles though. A mini Master System, Saturn and Dreamcast would be instant day one buys for me.

@StrickenBiged I said the exact same thing months ago. Eventually all bespoke consoles will be gone and replaced by a generic PC in a box.

I'm still massively tempted to buy this game.

I've actually requested a refund from Sony a few times and never once had an issue. Mainly because of drunken, digital VR purchases but they've always been accepted and dealt with quickly.

Xbox have been just as good in my experience. Nintendo on the other hand......

I was expecting a 5, 6 or 7 at the most. A 3 has definitely made me reconsider.

@quality_assurance Physical gaming isn't ending because of Microsoft. It's ending because gamers have been making that choice.

Take PlayStation as an example. The shift towards digital only has been incredibly rapid despite the fact that all first party and virtually all third party games receive a physical release. That's consumers telling publishers what they want and not the other way round.

Personally, my preference has always been for physical purchases but this will be my last generation of buying physical copies. Lack of space and convenience have finally outweighed the joy of having a nice looking box on my shelf.

There are a lot of angry people on here. People who were claiming that their PlayStation is an Xbox because it plays Xbox games are now suddenly getting very defensive.

The whole point of Microsoft's new strategy is that they want you to play Xbox games on as many devices as possible. Therefore, this is an Xbox. I can currently play Xbox games on my laptop, Quest 3, Firestick and Series X. And if I ever decide to buy one of these, I'll be able to play them there. Most of those pieces of hardware weren't made by Microsoft. But I can still play Xbox games there.

I've said many times before on this site that bespoke hardware will be irrelevant after next gen. I don't believe their will ever be a PS7.

Surely the end game for both Sony and Microsoft is to get their games in as many places as possible. Content and access to that content is king and while Sony are focussed on tying you to their plastic box (aside from a few PC ports), Microsoft are removing the barriers to have as many people playing as possible.

Some people here were upset when PlayStation PC ports became and thing and now they'll be even more angry about this because they enjoy feeling superior about their choice of where they play games.

I have to ask, are these constant articles just @get2sammyb 's own obsession? Because it's starting to seem weird.

@SDog_84 I adore all of my PlayStation consoles but this generation has been so underwhelming. Agreed, the live service plan has a lot to answer for!
