The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Protects the Precious on PS5, PS4 This September

YES. I've been waiting for this one forever and was just showing my wife the old trailer a few days ago. Hoping the PS5 version is a true PS5 game with full duelsense integration, 60 fps, etc and not just an upscaled "last gen" game.

OMG something is actually releasing in the second half of 2022, it's a miracle! Hopefully this game turns out to be a solid 7, I need an IV with LOTR content injected into my veins

They should of got Rob from Playstation Access for the voice. He does a more accurate impression of Serkis' Gollum.

That's the thing, though, I'm a fan of LOTR but I have literally zero interest in playing a game as Gollum. None. Not a single iota.

Even the art direction is just a knockoff of Jackson's films. It looks like Gollum by way of the recent Chip n Dale.

Big LOTR fan but this has bargain bin writing all over it, hope I'm wrong but from what we have seen it will be awful

I just have a hard time believing it will be anything other than Styx with a LOTR skin. Okay games but just not really my cup of tea.

I have to agree with some comments here. I’m also a LOTR fan and playing as Gollum just isn’t appealing to me. It’d be similar to getting Hogwarts Legacy but you play as Dobby. Hopefully they can do something interesting with it.

@lolwhatno i didnt buddy 😂. Ive just got so much im playing at the moment i didnt want to add to it. Kena, Sifu, Lego starwars, GT7, Horizon, Elden ring, Demons souls, Guardians of the galaxy, sackboy..... all started and not completed yet. I will get it at some point tho as its atill in the wish list.

@lolwhatno i dropped off elden a bit as i think i had my build all wrong and wasted resources in skills i dont really use. I now cant beat the boss before the re-speck point.. unless i grind massively, which i cant be bothered to do 😂

@MFTWrecks Agreed have no interest in this. They could have easily done something like The Return Of King game on PS2 which also had co-op and was alot of fun

@KidBoruto Honestly the only one I'm picking up day 1 is Soul Hackers 2, only other one I'm interested in is Trails but I need to play the sky series first and maybe Gotham Knights which I also want to play the Batman Arkham games beforehand. You missed Hogwarts Legacy also, if that actually sticks the date. I was being hyperbolic when referring to no games coming out, there aren't really any "blockbusters" coming after the heavy loaded February-March period this year, but that could and probably will change after summer games fest in June-July.
Rumours are saying we might be getting FF 16 in the holiday period, so that could be a great get for gamers. Personally I have Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak coming at the end of June so I will technically be set for the rest of the year and will devote most of my gaming time towards that and cleaning up my backlog!

@KidBoruto I think it’ll come September time, hopefully it’s not delayed again but I know it was delayed for a while for Christopher judge so maybe it’s progressed more than we think

@KidBoruto TBH I don't care if a game is Indie AA or AAA as a good game is a good game, but I will answer nonetheless. These opinions are as follows and are based off what I've seen:

Saints Row- This game looks like a blur between the lines of AA and AAA, the graphics look last gen, hence the last gen versions and gameplay looks like a normal saints row game, we can obviously say that it isn't a blockbuster based on money spent on the game but it certainly doesn't look low budget, hence why I said it's a blur between the lines. Reminds me of Ubisoft's watch dogs games.

Forspoken- This is a tough one as if we base it solely on the money spent and the way Square Enix is marketing the game Forspoken for all tense and purposes will be a blockbuster. The fact that this game is next gen exclusive this early on in the generation only further supports this statement. Particle effects, world size, density and of course fast load speeds have the high budget feel but it feels like something is missing, maybe we haven't seen enough to have a definitive answer yet on the quality. The game is getting made by the FF 15 team so this could honestly go both ways. In conclusion, the game is definitely on the higher end of budgets which would be considered a blockbuster, but I don't know what you consider blockbuster? Is it just cost of the game to produce or is it sales, so my answer for Forspoken will be your choice between those two factors.
