Re: PS5 Boss Says He's Seen the Future of Gaming, and It's 'Unbelievably Positive'

Oprahs_cellulite

@PneumaPilot This comment right here is the truth...I myself have been playing games as a full-time hobby for 43 years, and I still hear dinks talk about the good old days as if we currently aren't living in the golden age of gaming... Ppl seems to forget that, yes, one good release like Cronno Tigger you still get a ***** ton of crappy games during that time. People tend to forget that era of games (I'm talking NES to PS1) was so badly full of crappy games that YouTubers can literal make a full-time career just playing the slop and making fun of them about how bad they are during those generations of games.

So yes I do believe we are in the golden age of gaming, the real question is the entry price point of a new ps6 can literally break this hobby for me and a lot of others I know.

Re: Starfield (PS5) - Better Than Ever, But Still No Space Skyrim

Oprahs_cellulite

I don't know what everyone is complaining about; I played it yesterday for 12 hours, and I had a fun time. I even forgot what i was originally doing and ended up in a mine shooting space praites some how.. Yes, the procedural generation of planets is boring, but you don't have to do them... So who cares in fact there's a lot of things you dont have to do if you dont like it.

Other than the menus being a bit clunky and hard to manage, there really isn't that much to complain about.. Starfield is a huge space opera adventure with plenty of quests and systems to engage with... I believe BGS games have just become another Ubisoft complaining spot for spoiled gamers who don't even enjoy this hobby anyway.

Re: Opinion: Does Starfield Suck? People Keep Telling Me to Skip Its PS5 Release

Just look at the number of comments that have been blocked on this thread alone tells me this game has some kinda of reputation for some reason.
I've personally watched maybe two full hours of reviews for this game (out of excitement) and I got to say I don't get the hate. None of those reviews mentioned anything I care to know about the game, like how the combat feels, what the progession system is like, or whether the building and other game mechanics feel rewarding. all of them just say too many loading screens and not a good story, boring planets...
1. Loading screens I'm okay with, as long as they aren't too long
2. Most video game stories are kinda lame anyway so that's to be expected.
3. boring planets is fine by me... What were people expecting, do we really need in-depth quests and discovery on every planet? It's okay to just soak in the skybox and relax and feel lonely in space.
I've been playing games long enough to know what ill like to play regardless of what others say. So this is def day one for me.
LETS GO!!!!

Re: As PSVR2 Dies a Slow Death, One of Its Best Devs Confirms Mass Layoffs

Oprahs_cellulite

@Northern_munkey anything while you point and shoot a gun is fun in VR... sadly, games like Call of the Mountain are not. Although the game's presentation is neat, holding your arms up for more than half an hour can be tiring.
But RE4 in PSVR2 is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. The game is smooth as butter and basically ruined VR every other VR game after for me, cuz no other game was as fun and I'm not even a big RE4 guy I'm more a RE2 kinda guy.

Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Really in Competition with TikTok?

@RoomWithaMoose
You bring up a few very good points, but I would also add that gaming has evolved a lot in the past 30 years. For me I started out gaming with a controller with two buttons and a D-pad with side scrolling games from left to right, games now have full 3D worlds to explore for 100 hours or more while using a controller in todays minds was designed to control a real life space ship. (Which they do use console controllers to actually control drones) With that said, games are much more complicated and involving then they used to be. I would argue that todays youth find games kind of hard to learn.. For me playing games since the 80's I can learn a pretty complex game within maybe two hours while todays youth it would take them a lot longer to learn, factor in the constant ringing of cell phone notification and other distractions they might put the controller down and turn to something else. which may also explain why online streamers are so popularly with younger generations... why learn the mechanics of a game that's overly complicated when you can watch someone else play it for you.

Re: Ghost of Yotei Guide: Ultimate 100% Walkthrough

I've got to say I was skeptical about GOY, seeing as they really didn't evolve the game much from GOT I wasn't too excited about this sequel epically with just coming of Shadows with 165 hours I felt I may been burnt out for katana wielding action adventure... Boy!!! was I wrong not only did sucker punch double down on what made GOT great (which I didn't think was possible) they single handily made one of the most natural exploration open world games I've ever played, with a really good overall narrative (which by the way has never been done in an open world game before). This game is quite a treat to play just by refusing to open the map and play the game it was intended to be played, like a wondering Ronin.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Hollow Knight: Silksong?

Oprahs_cellulite

The thing about this game for me is, Hollow knight came out so long ago when the genre felt bare and didn't really have a lot of games, but since its release we have had a lot of top Metroidvania since then. I'm wondering if Silk Song is gonna have the same steam and praise as the first did so long ago.

Re: Eye-Opening PS5 Sales Data Reveals Why Microsoft Is Porting Xbox Games

Oprahs_cellulite

@DennisReynolds its not about owning studios its about owning Intellectual property and franchises. Like when Netflix purchased the rights to stream Friends on its subscripting platform it cost them over 100 million for a few years rights.
This is what we are witnessing, the race of Microsoft and Sony grabbing as much IP and franchise in order to win.
And in Disney's case the question has been brought up with owning Star wars IP, how long can you pump out movies and shows till franchise fatigue sets in.
So, as of right now... Yes the console wars are over and good riddance it was stupid to began with not like Saga and SNES days.
But now we are entering a new era the race for Digital IP ownership and subscription base streaming.

Re: Eye-Opening PS5 Sales Data Reveals Why Microsoft Is Porting Xbox Games

Oprahs_cellulite

I think most gamers are over looking the fact that Sony and Microsoft aren't interested in releasing Triple A Games anymore they aren't very profitable. Microsoft and Sony are looking at the Netflix subscription model and have been for quite sometime.
Which means more crappy games on a subscription service, just like Netflix.
This is why your getting excusive ports on both consoles the question is who will win the base platform for the subscription.

Re: 'It's Not About Checking Off a Map, It's About Engaging with What Excites You': Ghost of Yotei PS5 Gameplay Stuns

Oprahs_cellulite

I'm curious to see how this plays, I love open world games but I also do understand gamers frustration with them as of late. Modern Developers have found cleaver ways around the parts of an open world exploration with map icons and such, but to be honest having your HUD full of icons defeats the propose of exploring a beautiful open world to when there's tons of S***T on your screen... Before anyone replies with "Elden Ring did it" my response to that is... No they didn't. IMO I bounced off that game after level 40, I couldn't stand wasting time on a hard boss fight I found in a cave only to get a staff I will never use. because in Elden Ring there was literally no way to tell what was actually worth exploring on the map for your current character build, and if you took a chance on a cave and wasted three hours in it only to get junk equipment, too bad. Nothing is more annoying then beating your head against a wall in a boss fight for a useless reward.
So Yeah, this might be cool new way to discover things in an open world.

Re: Sony Reiterates Big PS5 Pro Graphics Upgrade for 2026

@Don_Corleone I'm not trolling you man, I just gave you a legit link to a real price of the PS5 Pro in Canada and not Including a GST tax, making the console over one thousand dollars.... So instead of throwing out insults to strangers online why don't you go outside and enjoy the grass.
Cheers!

@Don_Corleone https://www.gamestop.ca/PS5/Games/927788/playstation-5-pro-console?srsltid=AfmBOornezH9Q6XIyHGlUHObLsC2dDU9JBFmA9r_sgrKUFFbF57z8YFf

With taxes the system will cost over 11 hundred bucks I'm not lying... Even if I traded in my ps5 with disc and my PSVR2 I'm still looking at 400 bucks of my own money. Maybe this might be worth it when GTA6 comes out but Rockstar have yet to confirmed a Pro Version.... SO YEAH BRO NOT REALLY WORTH IT AT THIS POINT. and that's just to console not including the price of a new 120hz OLED
Chill Bro my point is valid even if it hurts your feelings, relax.. this isn't a console war argument.

Re: Sony Reiterates Big PS5 Pro Graphics Upgrade for 2026

Oprahs_cellulite

This is all great news but without a proper Display (120hz, 4k OLED) these improvement seem small and talking about PSSR and AI upscaling feels like techno babble and completely overreach on Sony's end, which gives me the impression that its not really worth the investment at this point.
