I find that the younger generations use streamers and playthrough as a stepping stone into gaming. All I do in my spared time is play video games but my two daughters see the games I play and say to me "how can you remember to make your character do all those crazy things" they instantly think gaming is way to complicated.. But they don't understand that I started gaming with a two button controller and just focusing on making one character jump over pits. Its natural and easy for me learn a new game so I don't think its really bad for kids to watch streamers play games, kind of a gate way into the hobby.
For me this console generation is kind of a blur I remember playing some okay games like Final fantasy 7 and maybe 8... But honestly the PS1 is kind of like that awkward teenage years that we all went through, where you look back a old photos of yourself and see how long and lanky your body was and all the zits on your face and then just think to yourself I don't remember looking that weird.
Good Times man, I bought my First PS1 in October of 1996 with Die hard trilogy and Cool Boarders... Although I cant go back to play old PS1 games because they actually really suck and terrible to play, but I do have fond memories of that console.
@LtSarge I agree, I had alot of fun with ACV and actually completed the game... Word of advise, do quests and side mission in a natural pace (stumbling and wondering around) if your a completionist ACV can be a slog.
Starting a new game plus in Horizon Zero Dawn remaster. The game looks awesome but... I think I always remembered it looking this good on the ps4. One thing I do remember is the awesome story and tone, not like Forbidden Wests white space gods floating around and Trinity from the matrix having the hots for Aloy. I forgot how much HFW story stinks. LOL!
I bought this game in 2023 and finished it during the holiday break and I've got to say at the time I wasn't really impressed other then the visuals and atmosphere It didn't quite live up to the hype. But then this month I did a full replayed (final Draft) once the lake house DLC dropped and it really is a master class in horror and narrative direction and design. Sure some plot points are a bit ambiguous and derivative but once you just stop trying to figure things out and let the story take you... its pretty neat nothing else like it.
Reading the comments and seeing how gamers are actually celebrating the down fall of a Major publisher is beyond stupid. I just think Ubisoft is now learning what EA learned after Anthem, it just took them a while longer and hopeful they figure it out.
I don't know what everyone's problem is with Ubisoft sure their games are simple mechanically but then again I don't put in Assassins creed game and hope I'm gonna being playing a Mario game with amazing game mechanics, they are simple and kind of fun games with beautiful worlds to explore. Sometimes after my 60 hour work week I just want to veg out and play a nice looking game with simple mechanics. As for the woke stuff, yeah I think its stupid but I just roll my eyes and continue playing.
@Almost_Ghostly What will truly push the sales of this pro and convinced skeptical consumers is how GTA6 runs on it... So wait for digital foundry to publish a video on how GTA6 runs on a Pro and then the majority of us will know if its worth the extra money or not.
@Yagami Dude I personally hate Star Wars ever since Return of the Jedi, ewokes hitting Strom Troopers over the head with rocks is so dumb and its always kind of turned me off. but honestly this game is really fun and worth my time and money. My suggestion turn up the difficulty, use all the steal tools given and play it slow, like red dead 2. It seriously is a fun game.
@Shalooda I just joined this site as of today to post this cuz i don't really like commenting on sites but for some reason i feel the need to defend this star wars game cuz its was just so fun to play, I've also been gaming for 38 years and have played every single major release and I agree with you this game is banging. Just finished it this weekend had a blast, I feel the negative reviews are coming from reviewers rushing the game and not taking the time to chill and walk around.. you have to play this game kind of like Red Dead Redemption 2, Slow.

Re: PS5 Pro Will Upgrade the Xbox-Owned Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
I'm still not sold on this pro console thing your money is better spent on a nice OLED 75" VRR with full scale HRD upgrade then buying a pro.
