@gamer153 Judging by the comment you either to young to remember the real problems that went along with enjoying the hobby back in the day. Most ppl seem to forget how crappy it kind of was playing videos back then compared to now.. I remember buying Super Mario 3 for almost 100 bucks back then (adjusted for inflation 190 bucks) great game but not worth that price. It was niche hobby then not a lot of people played video games it was considered a children's hobby.
Now a days gaming has never been better, this current generation has so many awesome games to play, even for free on your phone. you can also experience full size digital worlds that you can waste hours and hours in and all for the price of a ticket to the movies... Who cares if some of those open worlds games might have some bugs in them, compared to back then they are leagues ahead in terms of quality and price.
If you ask me gaming has never been better.
So stop looking at the past with rose tinted glasses and start praising the current gaming landscape today, with its patches and hotfixes as well.

I don't know about you guys, but I had a lot of fun with assassins creed shadows. I also had a great time with Star Wars Outlaws as well, sure Ubisoft games got some issues but overall there games are actually really fun to play.. I know its cool to hate on Ubisoft for (reasons) But they actually been nailing it lately with, Shadows, Outlaws, Prince of Persia, Avatar... Its a shame ppl bashing on Ubisoft for (reasons). But for me They've released a lot of bangers in the past year, its to bad gamers cant see past the hate.

I think I've come to realize after watching this trailer that I'm getting old and shooting cops and going to strip clubs just doesn't appeal to me anymore.
Maybe if it was an open world where you take your wife to Home depot and discuss what colors of blinds to buy would be more relatable.
But I'm happy for the kids to have a new Grand Theft Auto.

I am on the fence with this getting this game... Yes I love good story and great gameplay mechanics, but when ever I hear about difficult games it always turns me off, with the limited time I do have to play this awesome hobby I don't find it fun beating my head against the wall in order to over come something.
Now I know what everyone is gonna tell me "Get it ,its awesome" but its kinda like jumping in really cold water, everyone screams when they get in then say how refreshing it is. I'm that kid on the diving broad.

@Cornpop76 Same here man, I think I might be the last one left in my old crew that still makes times for video games. My wife cant play them at all and my kid is now in the social media phase, so its just me and Spiderman swing around these days.

Re: Gamers Are Reportedly More Interested in Watching Games Than Actually Playing Them

Oprahs_cellulite

I find that the younger generations use streamers and playthrough as a stepping stone into gaming. All I do in my spared time is play video games but my two daughters see the games I play and say to me "how can you remember to make your character do all those crazy things" they instantly think gaming is way to complicated.. But they don't understand that I started gaming with a two button controller and just focusing on making one character jump over pits. Its natural and easy for me learn a new game so I don't think its really bad for kids to watch streamers play games, kind of a gate way into the hobby.

Re: Feature: Stephen's PS1 Memories

Oprahs_cellulite

For me this console generation is kind of a blur I remember playing some okay games like Final fantasy 7 and maybe 8... But honestly the PS1 is kind of like that awkward teenage years that we all went through, where you look back a old photos of yourself and see how long and lanky your body was and all the zits on your face and then just think to yourself I don't remember looking that weird.

Re: Feature: Happy 30th Birthday to PlayStation

Oprahs_cellulite

Good Times man, I bought my First PS1 in October of 1996 with Die hard trilogy and Cool Boarders...
Although I cant go back to play old PS1 games because they actually really suck and terrible to play, but I do have fond memories of that console.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 554

Starting a new game plus in Horizon Zero Dawn remaster. The game looks awesome but... I think I always remembered it looking this good on the ps4. One thing I do remember is the awesome story and tone, not like Forbidden Wests white space gods floating around and Trinity from the matrix having the hots for Aloy.
I forgot how much HFW story stinks. LOL!

Re: Alan Wake 2 Trapped in Financial Dark Place, 'Most' Development, Marketing Costs Recouped

Oprahs_cellulite

I bought this game in 2023 and finished it during the holiday break and I've got to say at the time I wasn't really impressed other then the visuals and atmosphere It didn't quite live up to the hype. But then this month I did a full replayed (final Draft) once the lake house DLC dropped and it really is a master class in horror and narrative direction and design. Sure some plot points are a bit ambiguous and derivative but once you just stop trying to figure things out and let the story take you... its pretty neat nothing else like it.

Re: Ubisoft Board Orders Internal Investigation and Review into Company's Financial Woes

Oprahs_cellulite

I don't know what everyone's problem is with Ubisoft sure their games are simple mechanically but then again I don't put in Assassins creed game and hope I'm gonna being playing a Mario game with amazing game mechanics, they are simple and kind of fun games with beautiful worlds to explore. Sometimes after my 60 hour work week I just want to veg out and play a nice looking game with simple mechanics. As for the woke stuff, yeah I think its stupid but I just roll my eyes and continue playing.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Star Wars Outlaws?

Oprahs_cellulite

@Yagami Dude I personally hate Star Wars ever since Return of the Jedi, ewokes hitting Strom Troopers over the head with rocks is so dumb and its always kind of turned me off. but honestly this game is really fun and worth my time and money. My suggestion turn up the difficulty, use all the steal tools given and play it slow, like red dead 2. It seriously is a fun game.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Star Wars Outlaws?

Oprahs_cellulite

@Shalooda I just joined this site as of today to post this cuz i don't really like commenting on sites but for some reason i feel the need to defend this star wars game cuz its was just so fun to play, I've also been gaming for 38 years and have played every single major release and I agree with you this game is banging. Just finished it this weekend had a blast, I feel the negative reviews are coming from reviewers rushing the game and not taking the time to chill and walk around.. you have to play this game kind of like Red Dead Redemption 2, Slow.
