Re: This May Be the Best Looking PS5 Game I've Ever Seen, And It's Out Next Week

LimitedPower

Most stylistic? Maybe. Extremely authentic to what it’s trying to emulate? Certainly. But the choice of phrase, “The Best Looking PS5 Game I’ve Ever Seen” feels pretty inauthentic and honestly like a cheap way to generate a few extra clicks.

I love your continued dedication to highlighting smaller games on this site, but it’s just the little things like this that sometimes make people question the journalistic integrity of this website. I know I’m not alone in this, either. And I know you guys can do better than that! I apologize for my previous comment seemingly coming off as “unconstructive.” Just don’t go getting lazy on us now like you caught me doing.

Re: Gawrsh! Kingdom Hearts 'Deep Dive' Locked for D23 Next Month

LimitedPower

As a bit of a D23 buff I’m not hopeful about KH4 news being attached to this. Many of these anniversary panels end up just feeling like a way to pander to their respective niches without much substance aside from maybe a bit of interesting history trivia that might make its way to the internet. Would love to be proven wrong, though! After that Nintendo Direct trailer I’m eager for some world reveals, let’s go balls to the wall with some Marvel and Star Wars cuz why not?

Re: 'I'd Be On Board with Anything': Troy Baker Says He's There 'Day One' for More The Last of Us

I could easily see another dual-narrative approach based on this idea for a potential third game, where you jump between the past exploring Joel’s regrets over how he handled things with Tommy, and the present exploring Ellie’s regrets over how she handled things with Dina. Definitely enough narrative parallels they could latch onto as a jumping off point if the goal was to keep both our favorite protagonists front and center. I’d be really satisfied to see a third entry properly conclude the story as a trilogy and personally hope it’s something that’s still on the table at some point for Naughty Dog.

Re: Site News: Oh, Hi Everyone! Did You Notice Anything Different Here Recently?

LimitedPower

I’ll echo the above sentiments about more clearly separating news and opinions. A simple change in pronouns is something I can get used to, but it feels jarring reading a news article that is just presenting the facts but then suddenly include a random “I” statement with some sort of bias attached to it.

I could go on about something-something professionalism, but also recognize the very communal nature of your site, and acknowledge that it may not exactly be an easy answer as you navigate some changes like this. I think that, while not intentional, some of those infused articles seem to come off as indicating to readers how they should be responding to a piece of news, which can lead to some biases in the comments and shift the conversation one way before it’s even really begun.

Perhaps the ‘opinion sections’ of news-based articles could be saved for the top of the comments section themselves? Or otherwise marked with something like italics, parentheses, etc., or even more along the lines of the indented ‘editor’s notes’ in your reviews to more transparently separate it from the cold, hard facts?

Thank you all for being so open to feedback and doing what you can to combat things like AI for loyal and new readers alike!

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for January 2026?

LimitedPower

@PsBoxSwitchOwner Happened to me last Christmas with just about everything we bought — Stanley Parable, Stray, Sonic Frontiers, AND Star Wars VR all ending up on the service not long after that🤦‍♂️

I definitely have a big personal investment in Epic Mickey due to Wii nostalgia so I can’t really complain this month! Will likely be streaming Rebrushed at some point to bask in the memories…

Re: Last Chance to Play These 10 PS Plus Games

I’m in the back half of Sonic Frontiers by now, hoping I can find time to push through to the credits over the weekend! It’s a very flawed yet very enjoyable take on the 3D formula, just about what I expected going in lol.

Re: Sony's PS Plus Premium Offer for PSVR2 Games Seems to Die Next Month

LimitedPower

Worthy of note, Tin Hearts has a really fun VR option and is still available on PS Plus, just not under the VR2 banner presumably bc it’s an optional mode and not required.

The VR2 offerings were one of the few things keeping Premium an attractive enough tier for me. Preaching to the choir here of course, but the near-total lack of Premium attention has just been equal parts baffling and appalling. I enjoyed the opportunity to try out a few VR titles I wouldn’t have normally shelled out for, and I can only hope more of those titles pop up on the service sometime down the line. Sooner than later, preferably!

Btw, Star Wars is well worth your time for anyone interested before it goes the way of the dodo…

Re: PSVR2 to Lose the Support of Its Best Game This Month

LimitedPower

Wow what a cruddy move. Only got mine in November with the Black Friday deals and Beat Saber has easily been one of our most played; it’s without a doubt our preferred VR rhythm game. They’d better at least offer some deep discounts or freebies from the existing DLC selection, otherwise what reason is there to keep supporting a developer who wants to treat a sizable portion of its customers like trash?

Re: Microsoft Windows Classic Backyard Baseball '97 Hitting PS5 Soon

LimitedPower

This would be an excellent PS Plus addition but still something I could pick up for the right price if not included with the sub. Lots of nostalgia for these games, hope they don’t stop here! Backyard Hockey and Skateboarding on PC were some of my earliest gaming memories, glad to see this franchise making a comeback.

Re: TV Show Review: The Last Of Us (HBO) Season 2 Episode 6 - Robbing the Story of Its Genius

LimitedPower

I’m a bit surprised here at the lack of faith in the showrunners for being able to land this plane however long down the line. I am positive they’re well aware of the dangers that could come with recontextualizing something so precious in the grand scheme of the narrative. The fact of the matter is we’ll have another large gap between the next episode and whenever the next season will be ready to go, so a lot of these shuffles in the story have worked quite well for me as someone very familiar with both games, and have also been extremely effective for my partner who went into the show completely blind. There were a lot of very satisfying emotional beats for us in this episode in particular, as well as some great contributions to fill in a few gaps that the game wasn’t able to address. Pascal’s and Ramsey’s performances and chemistry with each other have only improved over time and had us both in tears by the end of the night. Incredibly excited for the finale, and hoping the wait for season 3 isn’t nearly as long!

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Season 2 Episode 4 - The First Time the Show Surpasses the Game

LimitedPower

@Cornpop76 The game did cover it, just very differently. You gained the context over time while with Bill. And to each their own, but I thoroughly enjoyed the throughline of their relationship alongside the show’s liberties to break off and show us the realities of other characters running parallel to Joel and Ellie, and I didn’t think any meaning was lost by the finale. Sure, pacing may have benefitted from longer seasons/more episodes, but that’s honestly become a bigger problem for television as a whole with these extremely short episode counts and extremely long waits between seasons…

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Season 2 Episode 1 - Structure Changes Keep Things Fresh

LimitedPower

It’s definitely hard to predict how this will pan out in relation to the game’s narrative, but that’s also a huge part of the intrigue for me as someone well-entrenched in both games. I truly don’t get all the comments I’ve seen about things from the show not being completely, entirely, identically accurate to the game. Why would you want such a lazy copy-paste? I got reeled right back in with this first episode and am very optimistic that the creators can adapt the source material just as effectively as they did with season one.

Re: Nintendo Copies the Astro Bot Concept, Sells You Switch 2's Tutorial

LimitedPower

Some reports I’ve seen have suggested $20 but frankly I wouldn’t even pay $10. It looks like less of an actual game than even something like Astro’s Playroom. Just one of many baffling decisions we saw this morning. This will likely be the first Nintendo console since the Wii days I won’t be obtaining in the launch window.

Re: The Last of Us Showrunner Isn't Concerned About Bella Ramsey's Ellie Looking Too Young in Season 2

LimitedPower

I find it extremely weird how many people are obsessed with criticizing the show based on its supposed ‘failure’ to match the visuals of the game exactly. Like, wouldn’t that be boring? To just see the exact same thing twice? The TV show is an extremely well-done adaption with perfectly casted actors who provide their own takes on the characters. Judging the program based solely on the comparison aspect is doing it a gross disservice. Not to mention the immaturity factor as well as the general creep factor in directing much of the hate toward the young adult female actors in particular.

Re: Another Disney Classic Looks Locked for PS Plus Premium in the Future

LimitedPower

I know I’m jumping the gun here but the focus on these PSP versions is just so lame. They are consistently the worst versions of those respective games. I’d be all in for the slightly less trashy licensed games homed to PS2 and PS3 (admittedly mostly due to nostalgia), but these portable editions verge on utterly boring if not unplayable.
