Sony's PS Plus Premium Offer for PSVR2 Games Seems to Die Next Month

Glad I never got PSVR2. It feels like it will enter rather large Sony Hall of Fame of abandoned products.

@Bizzy strange thing to say. Even though I rarely turn my on now, I've got an insane amount of positive impressions with it.

It is a solid device with decent amount of titles. If you've never experienced VR before and have PS as a prime gaming device, PSVR2 is still a solid option imo. Just keep in mind that it is not a substitute for flat-screen games.

Highly recommend both, but if you only have time for one, Star Wars was surprisingly good. Throwing and catching a lightsaber Mjolnir style is awesome. Haha.

If Sony could release a pen that would Men In Black everyone who knows of the existence of the PSVR2 then it could finally kill it off and save face
Sad to see as I've had fun with a fair few games but I'm of the opinion that mainstream VR is dead (again).

Really gutted how PSVR2 has gone. I love mine and it's the only think I play on the PS5 these days and its the only thing my wife actually enjoys in the gaming world (other than Mario Kart). I'll probably run out of decent games on it soon enough . For me the jump from PS4 to PS5 was nothing special, but the jump from PSVR to PSVR2 was incredible.

I just don't know how anyone could play the next Resident Evil without playing it in VR. It's massively more enjoyable for me!

I joined Premium solely for the VR content so when my sub is up in Feb I will be dropping down to Essential.
A bit strange that Arcade paradise is leaving as it seems to have been on the service for 8 months rather than the usual 12 (Rockstar games aside).

As for VR being dead, well PSVR2 has had a great year imo and this month alone has been banging and we still have three games coming on Thursday (Roboquest looks really awesome).
And then next year we have Flight Sim (and hopefully RE9) but I guess VR will always be dead for some.

I enjoy my PSVR2 (played Lumines Arise, V Racer Hoverbike and GT7 this morning) but clearly PSVR2 in particular and VR in general has not caught on with the mainstream.

While Sony owned developers not named Polyphony Digital have little appetite for PSVR2 it is a nice piece of hardware (OLED is a beautiful thing) and it has a lot of fun games in its library (RE4, Synapse, Rez Infinite, No Man’s Sky, Humanity, Tetris Effect, Before Your Eyes, Moss Books 1 and 2 and Pistol Whip spring to mind) and some promising ones on the way (nods towards Roboquest VR, Thief and MS Flight Simulator).

If VR ever catches fire it won’t be this generation (the tech will need to get cheaper and smaller) but as with everything stuff can be fun before (or after) it’s genre or what have you is popular.

I mainly bought mine as a cheap first-time PCVR headset with the adapter and the sale, but I REALLY had a blast with Synapse, and I still haven't beaten it yet (though I do have to buy it since they just took it off PS Premium...).

Synapse is probably up there with the Half-Lifes and Among Us as quintessential VR titles for me.

I rarely use mine, but I have no complaints. Alot of the psvr games.arw a blast, RE/Arizona sunshine/GT, but i bought inn the hopes that it would be continued into ps6, but its highly unlikely, probably will sell it on, before it becomes worthless

I still only have an original PSVR so to be honest I wish they put more of those games on there, nevermind PSVR2 ones.

I never even knew this was a thing. Then again, I barely remember to collect the 3 PS Plus games most months... If I was paying for PS Plus monthly I'd have cancelled it long ago...

I thought it was bullsh!t they only added them to Premium and not to Extra. There was nothing else I wanted in Premium, so I wasn't going to subscribe only for the VR games just out of principle. I think they could have helped PSVR2 headset adoption a lot by adding those games to Extra instead, and maybe even a few to regular. As it is, I just bought the few PSVR2 games I was interested in (and then barely played them...)

VR will never be a thing until it is shrunk to the size of a pair of glasses.
Until then, just accept that most people do not want to game wearing a helmet.

They should allow for "stereoscopic 3d".

On some phones, and mainly PC, you can use psvr to turn non-VR games in vr. It's not in depth worlds like true VR, but it turns the game 3d. So it's as if all the characters were there on a table in front of you. Things like crash bandicoot, Mario 64, GOWR, are so much more fun that way. They'd probably sell more headsets if they simpy made that a thing. They just need to show the same image to both eyes at the same time. Trinus on PC can do it, and that's free. Idk why Sony hasn't done something like that. Really would make the headset waaaay more worthwhile having.

@RunGMhx My mistake. I said I See You but the game I was thinking of was Before Your Eyes. I remember the game better than I remembered the title.

@Critonic 100%. That was my gripe too - the older PSVR games were on Extra, and it's BS that PSVR2 owners should stump up for Premium for them given they've already outlaid so much for the headset itself.

Would be nice if they started adding some to Extra now but won't hold my breath. Not too fussed though, at last count I have about 70 or so PSVR2 games so eating good as it is with more on the way. Can't wait for Roboquest later this week!

Glad I could resell my VR2 for a decent price after I bought it cheap in last year’s days of play sale. It’s very cool technology, but I just didn’t really enjoy playing it. Quite a hassle to set up and clear out the room and for me it was too demanding to play for longer than an hour.

@lindos Yeah, the upper most tier. What I meant is that I'm oblivious to most of the the benefits I am entitled to, and even the basic 'rewards' are rarely a priority these days. But then I'm ambivalent towards gaming currently so shouldn't be a surprise...

@LifeGirl as speccy git myself most VR headsets are too un-accommodating as it is. Smaller would be a nightmare, unless you could plumb your prescription into them.

It got me to purchase a psvr2 randomly when it went on its first big sale (last year I think?) so it’s definitely had it’s intended effect haha. I’ll admit though, after the honeymoon phase wore off, haven’t touched it since. Too much of a hassle at midnight when I wanna rest and relax after a long day.

This is a shame, i love my psvr2, way better than playing just on a tv with gt7 etc. Luckily we're growing and Valve will make a big splash in vr adoption soon. People don't know what they're missing. It'll be normal one day. Can't wait for roboquest and Battlemarked today. Thief, re9 & Microsoft flight simulator soon:) Can't wait!
