Today in 'Not on the Bingo Card', it's been announced that Hideo Kojima has a cameo in Zootopia 2.
The game designer/director plays the part of Paul Moldebrandt, a mole who works at the Zootopia Police Department, in the Japanese version of Disney's new sequel.
According to a report from Famitsu, Kojima was offered the small role directly by the film's director, Jared Bush.
This won't be Kojima's first acting role, but in a statement, he says it's his first time dubbing an animated film.
"My participation was limited to a small scene, but even at the recording stage, the level of detail was impressive," he says. "Thanks to the illustrations, the recording went smoothly. I’m usually on the directing side, so I learned a lot from actually acting. I was reminded of how much attention voice actors pay to basic things like turning pages in the script and adding noise."
Zootopia 2 (or Zootropolis 2 in some countries) opened to an estimated global box office of $556 million, making it the biggest opening of all time for an animated feature film, and the fourth biggest overall. It's a massive hit, in other words.

Should put a title card saying "A Hideo Kojima role" right before the mole first appears.
The director felt Kojima did a good job with the voiceover role.
”He played it like a damn fiddle!”
That’s pretty cool that he is involved. I haven’t seen the sequel yet but I really did enjoy the first movie.
Surely you mean 'The Mole Of A Lifetime!', @Quintumply...?!? 😂
Biggest animated movie opening of all time?!? Considering all of Disney and Pixar’s output thats no mean feat 👏👏
For anyone curious, that’s Josh Gad’s character in the English release. Really enjoyable family film! Was well worth a watch for us.
Hopefully this results in Kojima being in the next Kingdom Hearts game.
I never see Zootopia 1 or 2. But I saw Kojima 10 essentials stuff video with GQ Japan. The guy still eccentric as ever lol.
