Naughty Dog has revealed an actor from the latest episode of The Last of Us on HBO will also star as a character in the developer's next PS5 game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
Spoilers for the latest episode of The Last of Us - Season 2 on HBO follow.

The Price, the penultimate episode of the series, focuses on flashbacks that fill out the years between the two titles, and in the opening few minutes, we meet Joel's dad, played by Tony Dalton. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, studio head Neil Druckmann shared that he was so impressed with Dalton's performance in the episode that he offered him a place on the cast of Intergalactic.
"He immediately came to mind, and I just offered it to him on the spot," added Druckmann. Dalton joins Tati Gabrielle on the project, who also played Nora in the previous episode of the TV show.
Tony Dalton has starred in various other TV series over the years, from Better Call Saul to Hawkeye and Daredevil: Born Again. The character he'll play in Intergalactic is currently unknown. The game itself still appears to be a couple of years away, but Naughty Dog has it playable in-house, and it's said to be "incredible".

Good for him. I wonder if he ever found that Werner Ziegler guy he was looking for
Excellent choice!
He’s great in Better Call Saul.
He did great on the show.
Off topic, but here's hoping Nolan North somehow wriggles his way into Intergalactic
People are not excited about this game like other naughty dog games.sony first party games this generation have been the worst.even ps3 was way better.word up son
I find it a bit worrying that Naughty Dog is focusing too much on having renowned actors for their next game, after both TLOU I kinda hoped they leaned more into the game itself rather than cinematics, they are (still) a game studio, not a TV/movie studio.
@IOI Yeah agreed, it ruins the mental investment and the character build-up for me when they do this, especially if you know who the actor is.
It's like when you enjoy a cartoon at a young age to than find out who the voice actor is, it breaks the 4th dimensional wall of imagination, after that, it doesn't seem right.
But on that note, yes more gameplay less cinematics.
This isn’t really news. Dalton can be clearly seen in the group photo that is at the beginning of the announcement trailer that we got last December.
@playstation1995 how can you hate something you haven't even seen game play of yet lol. it doesn't make sense why people like to hate on things before they even see the game.
@playstation1995 in your opinion of course
@guacguacboo I didn't say me.im talking about Word of mouth other people.word up son
@twitchtvpat I'm not talking about myself. When other people saw the trailer I don't know if they're wasn't feeling the protagonist.the or because of what happened in last of us 2.but the excitement is not there like past naughty dog game.a gameplay will certainly help.word up son
@playstation1995 from what I see it's a vocal minority hating on the game... As usual. I can't wait to see gameplay

@playstation1995 1(#7) Facts. The remaster generation.
@PCPS4XB (#16) right, hate is a strong emotion. It's more like indifference.
This is good news, I've only seen him in Better Call Saul but he was incredible. Hope he plays a villian in this.
@PerpetualBoredom facts. Like every other generation.
@playstation1995 I knew what you were saying because you're one of the most positive people I know. I always like reading your comments!
Word up!
@twitchtvpat no one said anything about “hate” . y’all sure do hate when people don’t have the same tastes as you though
@TheKurgan thanks playa.i appreciate that.word up son
@IOI Fully agree with your comment. I do wish the industry would stop this fawning over movies and real life actors.
@Cornpop76 I wouldn't begrudge someone a purchase based on fondness for an actor's appearance in a video game but it's an area I have no interest in when making my own.
@PCPS4XB (#21) also true, but the predecessor consoles had banger exclusives to sell the systems. Where is the indefinite killer app for the PS5? Say it without mentioning Astro Bot.
That's the issue.
@TheKurgan agreed, I'm a fan of @playstation1995 as well!
I’m very confused, the game was announced with what they claim was gameplay but haven’t even finished casting? Ok cool, it’s vaporware until I see a release date. Weird marketing these days.
@playstation1995 no hate directed at you , I’m sorry if it came off that way , I think people just hate on things too much these days imo , and I think once game play gets show a lot of people will change their minds
Word up son
@nomither6 but it’s silly to dislike or hate it when we only seen a reveal trailer , people can hate on it all they want if it’s warranted and they’ve seen game play ect.
@playstation1995 I wouldn’t say they’ve been the worst but there just hasn’t been enough of them this gen. I really enjoyed Returnal and rift apart but absolutely loved Astrobot.
@PerpetualBoredom I would say PS has been better these first 4 yrs than the first 4 yrs of PS4. But on top of Astrobot we had forbidden West, ratchet, (2) spider man games, Demon Souls remake, Ragnarok, Returnal just from the top of my head and a bunch of great 3rd party console exclusives like stellar blade.
@Cornpop76 I don't know how early they cast for this stuff, plus how far in development they are. The trailer was just a standard announcement trailer, all cut scene with no gameplay. I thought it seemed fine, aside from all the product placement. I've enjoyed all of Druckmann's games so far though so I'll most likely be checking it out, especially with Dalton in it. Take care.
What this post does is it spoils Tony Dalton appearance in the episode while not providing anything new news wise, since anybody with a pair of eyes has already seen him in the Intergalactic trailer.
@playstation1995 you can only talk about yourself. As for the rest, you can never tell if it's a loud minority or not.
Sweet I love that guy
@twitchtvpat I understand it's just that after last of us part 2 people were hating on druck.ann and some people are not feeling the protagonist. I believe the game will be fine.word up son
