Crash Bandicoot Set to Spin into New Netflix Animated Adaptation 1

Crash Bandicoot is getting his very own Netflix animated adaptation, with the studio behind Sonic Prime at the helm.

Word comes courtesy of streaming site What’s on Netflix, which claims WildBrain Studio has taken up the mantle of bringing the former PlayStation mascot to the small screen.

It’ll follow a series of other successful Netflix animated adaptations, including Castlevania, Tomb Raider, Arcane, and, most recently, Splinter Cell.

Crash Bandicoot has flirted with the cartoon world before, with Activision famously entering into a deal with Amazon Studios on an adaptation, although the plug ultimately got unceremoniously pulled on this project.

What’s on Netflix says story details remain under wraps for this new attempt, and no casting details have been confirmed. It may be a little while before it’s officially announced, then.

We wonder if the show could be accompanied by a new game, because Crash Bandicoot has gone a little dark since its ill-fated online multiplayer spin-off, Crash Team Rumble.

It’s worth remembering that this series is now under the stewardship of Microsoft, after the trillion-dollar titan purchased IP owner Activision Blizzard for close to $70 billion.

Whatever happens next for the ‘Coot, then, will be at the behest of the Redmond firm.
