I'm strongly guessing a prequel with Raven. I can't imagine Shift Up releasing a proper sequel next year.

We'll probably only see a proper SB 2 with Eve on the PS6. Maybe even a launch title.

I'm curious if this is a PS6 launch title, since the PS6 is already rumored for 2027.

LOL, I can already see it coming. Shift Up will definitely continue on its own in the future, and SB 2 will never come because Sony owns the publishing rights to the IP.

So it will probably be a Demon Souls/Dark Souls where we get a new IP similar to SB, but multiplatform.

If Sony had never opened this Pandora's box called the PC from the beginning, they wouldn't have these problems. Because then there wouldn't be any PC releases of their games. But they had to listen to idiots like Shawn Layden, who still believe the PC isn't competition and that they are separate markets.

All of their problems this generation are due to the PC and strengthening Valve as a competitor. Nintendo doesn't have this problem because they know that once the gates are open, they stay open.

I'm curious to see what happens in the future. But I assure you, they won't give up their 30% share.

With these huge budgets, Sony is well on its way to following in Ubisoft's footsteps.

Guess why Jimbo and Hermen switched all their studios to GaaS? To finance these AAA games like Intergalactic.

Fortunately, they seem to have identified the real problem internally, rather than just looking for a partial solution.

You can really tell that Sony basically just wants to get rid of the PC. Internally, they've long since realized that Valve is Sony's biggest competitor. It's all about the 30%, which is why Valve is where they are now, and why Sony makes so much money every quarter.

It doesn't surprise me that another PC release is now being deliberately sabotaged.

They will never work with Sony again. and Tencent or MS is more likely to acquire Arrowhead than Sony.

Theoretically, Sony can give the Helldivers IP to Arrowhead now, but I doubt they will.

At this point, I expect it to be a PS6 cross-gen title, the same goes for DQ XII. SE is and remains a bunch of incompetent jerks.

LOL, this is going to be absolute hell. SE hasn't even managed to properly optimize its exclusive titles on PlayStation. And now they want to drag the PS5, the PC, the Xbox Series X, the weaker Series S, and the even weaker Switch 2 along with it. Yeah, this is going to be an absolute disaster. The "Japanese Ubisoft" really fits perfectly here.

Now that the final specs are known, I fully expect a second Series S for developers.

Fortunately, Chinese and Korean developers seem to be completely ignoring the Switch 2.

and anyone who thinks that GTA VI or Witcher 4 will appear on it will have a rude awakening.

Yet SE will continue to release Nintendo exclusive games. There's already a remaster of Bravely Default to launch, so BD 3 isn't far off. And I'm betting there will definitely be an exclusive DQ and FF for the Switch 2.

SE will only come back to Sony if they have to pay for a AAA game, which SE simply doesn't have the money for.

Hopefully Sony SE will finally give the middle finger here.

Sony is pretty much the only one who understands that China will be the leading market in the future. The Switch 2 isn't even officially sold in China, which explains why no Chinese game has been announced for the Switch 2.

If Sony achieves even a 1% market share in China, it will offset the loss in Japan.

Yes, I noticed that too. So many comments claimed that the Switch 2 would outsell the PS5, even though it wasn't even clear how much it would cost or what it could do. But everyone was still sure that Nintendo would save gaming and Sony would go multiplatform. Yeah, the reality is often different...

btw I'll probably buy a PS5 Pro. The Switch 2 is too expensive and the hardware doesn't justify the price at all.

Hey, to be fair, Apple at least has up-to-date hardware. Nintendo offers outdated hardware at a luxury price.

Sony has absolutely nothing to fear. GTA 6 will overshadow pretty much everything else, and that game isn't coming to the Switch 2. Especially since Sony has the far more powerful and cheaper console.

I think there will be some high fives handed out at PlayStation HQ again today. 😂

Yes, theoretically, anything should be possible on the Switch 2. The question is what the games will ultimately look like. Rebirth already runs like dog ***** on the PS5.

I think many Nintendo fanboys will get a reality check that the Switch 2 isn't a portable PS5 after all, and the difference is still massive. 30 fps will be the absolute standard on this console.

Whether Yotei will even be as successful in the West as Tsushima is doubtful, if only because it will be more expensive and (like every other Sony IP) will sell worse than its predecessor.

The PS5 shows how FAR (and by that I mean VERY FAR) the perception is between the internet and reality.

Atreus, Freya, Thrud.......no one except the modern audience wants a GoW with these characters.

and Kratos going back to Greece without Atreus with the gameplay of the new games is a guaranteed success
