Stellar Blade Fans Rejoice: Developer Shift Up Now Recruiting for 'Next Work' in the Series

Shift Up looking for writers does mak me relieved, as much as I love the game, the story was definately the weakest part, even the actual lore of the world is really good!

@Oram77 Despite loving it and several repeats you are spot on squire it reminded me a bit of the Horizon games in that regard. There was very little emotional feels in either games/franchise, Hell with Horizon it was only the fact we lost a great actor in the real world that made a replay resonate.

Maybe save it for ps6 so the new tech can take the graphics to a whole 'nother bra size....i mean level. i mean better eye candy. i mean better visuals. yeah, visuals.

@Jammer damn really? I would agree with FW story being a bit meh, but i really enjoyed ZD story-wise.
Altho combat is definetly star of the show in both games.

Stellar Blade and FF7 Rebirth remain as the only two Enhanced games I've played on my Pro and they've both made the upgrade worth it. Very fun, looking forward to the sequel.

Interesting thing to note is that it appears the next Stellar Blade game won't be a PS5 exclusive. On the Shift Up website it says that Stellar Blade 2 will be a "multi-platform action game that will launch on various platforms including consoles and PCs." Now, that doesn't mean it will be on Xbox and Switch 2 , but it does suggest that it will at least release on PC day-one, unlike the first game. I assume Shift Up will publish the game themselves.

It's so funny that the PS Square editorial team tries to hide or ignore the fact that the next Stellar Blade 2 will be a multiplatform game from the start. The PlayStation media and fandom are so fixated on the "we need more exclusives" narrative that they refuse to accept the fact that all PS5 exclusives, with the exception of Spider-Man 2, have failed to sell more than 4 million units. Stellar Blade, Astro Bot, Rise of Ronin, Death Stranding 2, FF 16, and Rebirth have all failed to generate significant sales as PS5 exclusives. Even major AAA first-party games owned by Sony have been ported to PC to increase revenue and sales, as PlayStation exclusive sales are insufficient and do not generate the revenue and profit that Sony expects.

Maybe Hoyo will look at Stellar Blade success and make a full single-player game instead of another phone gacha? Nah, not a chance.

@Striker21 Why you making things up? no one and I mean no one here has said Stellar Blade 2 will be a PS exclusive or even hiding the fact it will be multiplat. Look we get it, you are a Xbox fan (looking at your profile page) and just come over here to ruffle feathers with blocks and blocks of text and thinking you are "owning" people. just give it a rest please.

I'm just pointing out that the entire PS Square article fails to mention the fact that the next Stellar Blade 2 will be a multiplatform game from the beginning. The next question is why PS Square does not mention the multiplatform aspect. That's because it wants to keep the "exclusives are successful" narrative that the entire PlayStation fandom is built on.

@Jammer agree but horizon is a low point in my opinion. I skipped almost all of the cut scenes in forbidden west as they bored me to tears 🤣

Oh, the optimization certainly won't suffer. as with all UE5 titles that were also multiplatform.

I'm curious whether Sony will be allowed to finance this again, or whether Shift Up will do it themselves and then complain if SB2 doesn't sell 10+ million copies despite being multiplatform.

OG Stellar Blade was coming out for Xbox until it wasn't. Happens all the time now. You don't know for sure what platform a game will release on until it does. If there's an actual next Xbox platform, the sequel likely comes out for it, but we won't know until that's made certain.
