Re: Twisted Metal PS5 Reboot Studio Swapped Mid-Development

JAMes-BroWWWn

No matter who is behind Twisted Metal. It's gonna flop hard. These kind of games aren't requested besides by a very loud minority on the internet. Just take a look at Destruction AllStars which is the same game, more or less. Plus Destruction AllStars was on PS Plus and still nobody cared. The Nostalgia factor won't help whatsoever. Just wait and watch.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate PS Plus in 2021?

JAMes-BroWWWn

In retrospective, it was a really good year.
Highlights to me were
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Control Ultimate Edition
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Battlefield V
A Plaque Tale Innocence
Hitman 2
Mortal Shell

Let's hope this year will be at least as good as last year.

Re: Rumour: The Last of Us Remake Almost Complete, Out This Year

JAMes-BroWWWn

I can't wait. I haven't played The Last of Us for a while but after that masterpiece that The Last of Us Part 2 was, with the untouchable combat, audio design, animations, AI and general gameplay, I really wish to see The Last of Us to have all that.
I hope it's true. Even though I still want to see something completely new from Naughty Dog. Day one, no doubt.

Re: Days Gone Also Sold Over 8 Million Copies on PS4, Claims Director

JAMes-BroWWWn

Days Gone was a B-Tier title thru and thru. Bend Studio promised so much but delivered next to nothing upon their promises. No camp system, no "carma" system, no multiple choices and so on and so on. The characters were one dimensional as it can get. And story was solid but the pacing was abysmal. They dragged it at any possibility. The combat was generic and unpolished. Every shooter that needs a slowdown mechanism to actually be efficient to shoot, is simply bad the shooting mechanics itself.

U criticized Sony alot for green-lighting certain games and Red-lighting others, but red-lighting a sequel to Days Gone 2 is probably the best decision they have ever made. Bend Studio is the big blemish at Sony first party big studios. They literally have never done a game that I liked. Sony should reconstruct Bend Studio too in my opinion. They just don't function as the rest of the big ones do.

Re: Soapbox: Don't Let F.I.S.T. Pass You By

@Jarobusa I played around 24 hours of the game and platinumed it by then. But I'm pretty sure it's doable faster. I really took my time with it. The biggest challenge for the platinum was the Combo Training with Master Wu. But also that is really manageable.

Re: Soapbox: Sony's First-Party Exclusives Will Shine Once Again in 2022

JAMes-BroWWWn

Sony has definitely done a great output so far, but they desperately need PS5 only games. All the cross gen titles are annoying tbh. Even though I'm looking forward to all three of em. I really want to see another Playstation 5 only game like Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Returnal or Demon's Souls. If these cross gen titles is all they have, then I'd see it as a failure and a big middle finger for all early adopters.
I hope they have some announcements up there sleeves that nobody would see coming.

Re: UK Sales Charts: GTA Trilogy, Among Us Sell Best on PlayStation

JAMes-BroWWWn

@WallyWest I am aware of Game Pass but I always thought that Game Pass was supposed to boost video game sales not completely erase them. At least to the executives at Microsoft. They constantly said that such a subscription model would assist in sales, as gamers would get a chance of playing these games before buying them.

As someone else in the comments replied to me and said that most who played Halo Infinite, hasn't even gotten the earliest Achievements. It just got me wondering, if the executives from Microsoft has totally missed their goal or does it just apply to smaller titles of the whole "Game Pass boosts sales talk.

Re: UK Sales Charts: GTA Trilogy, Among Us Sell Best on PlayStation

JAMes-BroWWWn

@Richnj Good points. It's just when I grew up Halo seemed to be the biggest thing. Now it was in the top ten for a week and it's already at the bottom of the top 20 in the second week. Feels so weird.
But your points make sense, the last Halo was in 2015, which wasn't that well received. So I think people are more cautious because of that.

Re: UK Sales Charts: GTA Trilogy, Among Us Sell Best on PlayStation

JAMes-BroWWWn

Ratchet and Clank almost back in the top ten is nice to hear. Not sure if we'll get another Ratchet and Clank this gen, after Insomniac seems to be very busy developing Marvel games. But you never know. The sales should be in favor for it.

Halo already out of the top 10 is crazy. All that talk that Game Pass boosts sales seems to be ridiculous now. Or maybe it just applies to smaller scaled games.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Crawls Back into Top 10

JAMes-BroWWWn

Spider-Man Miles Morales is such a fantastic game. I'm pretty sure the demand for Spider-Man has never been bigger. And the launch of the movie definitely helped it a bit. (which is also fantastic)

Geez, Halo only at number 4? Has any Halo ever launched so poorly?
Seems like a safe bet it'll be out of the top 10 next week, just like Forza Horizon 5 only maintained in the top ten for a week.

Re: Resident Evil Village Wins Game of the Year at Golden Joystick Awards

JAMes-BroWWWn

That's why regular gamers being voters to its absolute is nonsense. RE Village was a superb game, but best audio? That is factually wrong.
Returnal has the best audio. Professional critics would have voted Returnal for best audio with no doubt, but as it is a popularity contest, most gamers probably skipped Returnal and might not even know that name, while Resident Evil is a household name even if them voters haven't played it, they at least know its title - Resident Evil.

Regardless, how I feel, congrats to the winners and nominees.
