Spider-Man 2 is without a doubt a juggernaut. I'm little bit disappointed that Alan Wake 2 ain't higher though. What an amazing experience is was. Can't wait for the DLCs - for both, Alan Wake 2 and Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
This year is so good it carries its goodness into next year.

I've got the Deluxe Edition knowing Remedy is great at its DLCs, looking at the DLCs for Control that is. Game is great. Easy GotY contender.

Yes, I started it today. Finished and platinumed Marvel's Spider-Man 2 after 30 hours and got 2 hours of Alan Wake 2 today. It's really good so far.

My GotY. Which I didn't expect at all based on everything I had seen.
But the gameplay has been outstandingly improved by addition of various gameloops and refined combat with a bunch of new combos, movesets and other stuff and I do not want to spoil.
The story is gripping and engaging with a lot of surprises.
There's so much I could talk about but it would take forever.
Game is amazing and Insomniacs best work by far.

There's 3 times the amount of Switches out there and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 still outsold Mario? Crazy. Spider-Man 2 is a juggernaut.

Of course I am playing it. And according to my friends list - everybody is. Game is outstanding. Insomniac Games easily carrying the Playstation 5 from Sonys first party studios.

Sony missed on a lot of top opportunities, such as Remedy Entertainment, Ready At Dawn, Massive Games and hell even Fromsoftware. Sonys overcaution got em in this "but or die" situation. Their own fault.

Pre-ordered and ready. It has been said plenty of times but this year is phenomenal. I was about to get Lords of the Fallen but figured I couldn't finish it til Spider-Man 2 drops so I'll hold off until I finished Spider-Man 2 and then Alan Wake 2.

4 videogames and 1 DLC.
2 of em were brand new IPs.
3 of em were Game of the Year contenders.
2 of em were Game of the Year winners across multiple outlets.

In the PS4 era, they released 4 projects.
3 of em were videogames and 1 of em was a Remaster.
2 of em were Game of the Year Contenders.
2 of em were Game of the Year winners across multiple outlets.

PS5 era they released 1 friggin Remake and now a Remaster of a 3 years old game?

@QuietintheCorner Agree. The last years outputs from Sony has been amazing. Demon's Souls Remake, Miles Morales, Astro, Sackboy, Returnal, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Ragnarok, HFW and GT7. And now they're about to top it all with Spider-Man 2. Sony is super mode.

I am very excited. Already pre-ordered and ready.

I always liked Big Jimmy. That lack of Acquisitions of studios had always been my main complaint of Playstation. He went to the right direction with acquiring a lot of studios.

"obsessed with growth" sounds bad to me though. Let time tell what that even means.

Is there a split between Playstation and Xbox for Lies of P? It had to be the Playstation Nation to bring this game to the top 3.

I was expecting a State of Play in September anyways because of Spider-Man 2 alone. This gonna be juggernaut, no doubt.
If this State of Play gonna feature any other first party project is unlikely. Why would Sony take off the spotlight that is important for Spider-Man 2. Aside of Helldivers 2, of course. Which, hopefully, does not come out October or November. A December release would be pleasant though.

I have gotten it through PS Plus. But I haven't tried it yet as I'm busy with FFVI Pixel Remaster.
But I'd like to know the split regardless. Even though I do believe you Sammy, the vast majority of them sales gotta come from Switch/PC crowd.

@Powerplay94 What Starfield hype? Do you hang around these echo chambers? If there was any hype, Xbox Series consoles wouldn't be behind Xbox One by 10 percent while Playstation 5 breaks record after record.

Smart move. I wasn't buying Alan Wake 2 because it was too close to Spider-Man 2. I'm not sure if I can complete Spider-Man 2 within a week though. If I can, I'll get Alan Wake 2 day one. Still, would be better if they delay it til November.

I think that kind of lineup regarding day and date to a subscription is ideal. Smaller titles such as Sea of Stars and Moving Out 2. Just like Stray back then. They definitley don't cost as much as a triple A game to get for the subscription but still good quality to entertain the subscribers to main the subscriptions.

@thefourfoldroot1 Agree. I also admire the topic they chose. Bullying isn't used much in story telling in video games. That's brave and out of the box thinking. I respect that.

Playstation is unstoppable.
And we haven't gotten to its second phase yet.

Playstation 5 will easily hit the 100 million mark. 120 million to 130 million in its lifetime.
I feel like Playstation has never been bigger than now. And we haven't even had an update of Sonys first party studios yet.

I don't get the whole China Hero Project. Is it Sony initiative to put games on Playstation that would have come to PC only? If not, why is there a PC version? Is Sony funding two platforms? Why is no one on PC, like Valve or Epic, funding the PC version? It's kinda weird that Sony is funding for a platform that they don't own. Unless, they get a cut from the PC sales too. Of course, that'd be understandable from a business perspective.

I heard about this initiative years ago, but aside from F.I.S.T. (which bought, played and platinumed) I haven't seen anything come to fruition. First time I heard about Anno Mutationem.

These plates are mad expensive to begin with. Having these scalpers in the picture makes it even worse.

Seeing some playing Tekken 8 got me super jealous. Even though I'm deep into SF6, I'll always prefer Tekken. Hopefully it'll release soon.

I'm finishing the DLCs of Alan Wake. Completed the vanilla part and thought it is pretty good. Got me looking forward to Alan Wake 2.

@Porco Yeah maybe Sony done ***** something up. Would be a shame if Square Enix gets acquired by someone else. Especially, nowdays as Playstation Player you constantly in the position where your preferred platform loses even more games.

Insomniac is Sonys flag ship studio since the launch of the PS5. They are unstoppable.

Hopefully it's another Ratchet and Clank game. Rift Apart was amazing. I need more of that. Outstanding Platformers.

Add this to another game Xbox would never pay to make it exclusive for its platform because they don't want to take games away from the gamers
