Hopefully. I need some more bangers. I'm running out of games. Just finished Ghostwire and I'm about to start Salt and Sacrifice. The Last Of Us Remake would be a great time, if it does come out this year.
@pushsquare I was wondering would you guys also cover the European Monthly Charts? As you cover the NPD charts (which is the American gaming charts) and weekly UK charts, I think viewing the European Monthly Charts is also very interesting. It's mostly Playstation oriented numbers so it might be an interesting topic for this Site. Plus it'd be just once a month. Just wondering.
@Jaberwocky The whole 111 million VS. 19 million argument makes no sense as we know for a fact that every game sells better on PS5 than PS4. Plus, this has always been that scenario in previous generations. A new generation starts and the previous halts.
And even beyond that, games like Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Demons Souls and Retunal have been said to be big hits according to Sony themselves.
The last gen support should have stopped when the next gen launched. PS4 had 7 years and a phenomenal library of games. Now it's unnecessarily expanding and crippling the potential and the library of the next gen games with the limitations of its hardware. 7 years of ongoing support is absolutely sufficient for customers to be happy with the purchase of a 400 euro hardware.
I love Prey but, to me, Arkanes best work is Dishonored 2. But I respect your take. That's how I'd order their games: Dishonored 2 Death of the Outsider Dishonored Prey Deathloop I do like all of their games. At least, those I played. Arkanes upcoming games not coming to Playstation is by far the most stinging result out of Microsofts Bethesda deal. Just BTW.
I hope it doesn't mean they're just starting a new project.
Nevertheless, I expect a new game by Sucker Punch in 2024 at the latest. All Sonys in-house studios should take Insomniac Games as a muse for quality and quantity in regards of video game releases.
Subscription models don't increase sales whatsoever for big games (I'm aware that Oddworld ain't really a big game still). Microsoft flat out lies about it. Their own released games are the ideal proof of it. Neither Halo Infinite nor the latest Forza game was longer in the top ten charts than 1 week. These subscription models might increase popularity for smaller titles and this is where Microsoft is cherry picking from to delude people into believing their lies. The subscription services is putting a blow into games quality sooner or later. If by sheer quality or by quality dragging monetization methods. Screw these models. Rants over.
Finishing Elden Ring. I'm at the last boss and he keeps kicking my ass. I haven't felt the difficulty spike at all up to this point, but now, yeah I feel the difficulty spike.
Hopefully I can finish Elden Ring this weekend to start off next week with probably Ghost Wire Tokyo. Let's see if Radagon can stop being a bully and let me slay him.
My take might be very controversial but I think every big publisher should have a dedicated studio only making remakes. Not only for the fans of that particular game but especially for the determination of potential revival or continuation of a video game. Trying to attract even newcomers as oldtimers alike. There are so many games from previous generations I want to play but due to the technical obsolescence I really don't want to play them. Unbearable graphics, horrible frames, slowass loading, clunky controls, terrible audio design, cringe voice acting and so on and so on. Remaking video games to nowadays standard should be a regular routine for all big publishers.
@RBMango I know where you're coming from but I still disagree. Horizon is a massive franchise. The first one sold over 20 million copies. How many brand new IPs can claim that? Horizon doesn't have to hide from any releases imo. Even though Elden Ring is much bigger than Forbidden West, Forbidden West is still doing good on its own.
Looks good. Most games seem to find some success even with that much competition around. Strangers of Paradise doing better than I thought it could. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands up there while being a Spin Off. Everything but Ghost Wire Tokyo, apparently. It's been said a bunch of time but this year is absolutely staggering. Although April seems slow for the most part.
Sony is generally extremely quiet about the projects of their first party studios.
And I agree that Naughty Dogs absence feels weird. They always had something concrete for us to look forward to. Now we're pretty much guessing more or less if their project Faction 2 is even a thing.
Sony bless us with a Future of Gaming 2 or something like that.
Just another piece of proof, of the already skyscraper high stack of proofs, that subscriptions in gaming is going to kill gaming as we know it. Every game is going to have the worst kind of microtransactions in em to make money as the games won't make money by sells alone.
When you taught GT 7 had bad microtransactions, wait for the time when everything is in a gaming subscription. ***** everyone who supports these subscription models btw.
@Number09 Hitting the skids? You mean after being number 1 for 3 weeks straight? Of course, as some point it decreases in position. It's still top 5 after 4 weeks. How many games besides them annual games can claim that? Especially nowadays. Elden Ring is another one of them btw.
Sony desperately needs a State of Play or something similar to Future of Gaming event.
I don't care about the whole Spartacus subscription nonsense at all, but Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 are out and are undoubtedly success stories. Now I need some sort of a road map for upcoming Playstation games in general. Plus the release date for God of War Ragnarok. All we know are Insomniac Games projects. I need certainty.
Horizon Forbidden West still outsold Elden Ring on the Playstation side of things? So it is multiplat effect after all. I would have bet Elden Ring would have been number 1 on Playstation platforms too.
Dying Light 2 is also on a strong position. Gaming this year is definitely a highlight already. And we are just in the first quarter.
It is a better game than Zero Dawn in almost every way, but it doesn't feel like a game that has been in development for 5 years. Not sure if the PC Port took them too much time or resources or if, the fact that, it is a PS4 game after all. Maybe a bit of both. I really can't tell. I give it an SUPERB which translates to an 8 so far. I haven't finished it yet. I've been roughly 30 hours in it.
I haven't bought it yet but I plan to. I'm too busy with Horizon Forbidden West atm. 20 Hours in and I'm overwhelmed with the massive scale of content.
My initial plan was to play and finish Horizon Forbidden West until Elden Ring comes out. I had no idea how gigantic HFW actually is. Elden Ring has to wait. I go to find a way to get GAIA functional again.
I've been so deep in Horizon Forbidden West, I didn't even think about the fact that Sony has nothing in the pipeline besides GT 7 and God of War Ragnarok and, of course, the Playstation 5 carrier, Insomniac Games's Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine.
Everything might be possible at this point. Some announcement from Bluepoint maybe. Team Asobi could showcase some Astro magic. Naughty Dog definitely got some ammo ready to blast.
Third-party like Hogwarts gotta be there. Little Devils Insides release date. FFXVI hopefully.
We really barely know anything from Sony's lineup, do we?!
An easy mode sounds horrible to find fun in this game. The whole gameplay design is around the challenges. If that aspect is gone, you literally walk thru and it becomes 95% a walking sim. I'll bet my ass, people who'll play it on easy mode won't enjoy walking thru. But hey I'm glad, the devs try to increase their sales potential. I want a sequel or something similar.
I have beaten the game. A superb game. It ain't that hard. I'm glad, I'm not on Twitter to see all these crybabies whining about a challenging game. Although, I do agree the second area is the most challenging, which lies within its level design of the shortcut still having The Trial to go through every time. Besides that, the boss is really manageable once you understand that evading his attacks is better than dodging em. At least, that worked for me.
Yessir! May just got more exciting. Been waiting for the release date announcement. Salt and Sanctuary was great. I have high expectations for its sequel.
Nah the list seems nonsense. The heck is Fight for Middle-Earth supposed to be? Tekken 8? Didn't Katsuhiro Harada recently state that Tekken 8 hadn't even been started yet because of the success and its unplanned seasons of Tekken 7? How would this be "internally tracked and tested", if it doesn't exist? Injustice 3 and another Mortal Kombat game around the same time being tested? Nonsense! Titanfall 3? Lol. Ok. Batman Arkham Knight Remastered seems also very unlikely. WBs schedule is already stuffed with bunch of upcoming games ( Hogwarts Legacy, Suicide Squad, Gotham Knights, Lego Star Wars). I don't think they have any time for a remaster.
I'm intrigued. The open world in AC games got way to big and too time consuming for its own good. I haven't even bothered getting Valhalla because of the excessive duration.
Of course, easily a GotY contender. From the combat to the bosses to the world building and upgrade system, I'm amazed. What a nice surprise of game this is. Really thought, it'd be a short melee game with an interesting story, but damn it's so much more sophisticated than that. I can see Sloclap being part of Sony's WW studios.
I got the Deluxe Edition for that. I was wondering two days ago why the preload doesn't start. Now I know. Sonys usual incompetence with its network components.
I took the PS Plus discount on Deathloop and I'll take advantage for Ghost Wire Tokyo too. I really think Sony should do this way more of the and especially with their own first party games. They offered the PS Plus pre-order discount also for Hitman 3 and few other games like Sifu.
@BoldAndBrash Same here. I'd never understood why to care for these executives until Jim Ryan getting on top of Playstation and changing the things that made Playstation well Playstation. I really don't think any Petition can change the course of the executive position though. It gotta hurt at their bank account. That's the only language they speak. Give it a couple of years. They might lose or at least stagnate financially.
Yes, I payed for the upgrades. Can't wait to play em, but first, I'ma finish Lost in Random then back to the adventures of Nathan Drake the Great and Cloe Frazer.
@Reeneman Because I simply want that. Certain games are perfect for it. Mostly games like Dead Cells and such where I just go thru runs but also wanna watch some YT or something on Netflix while I get me some runs.
@Bentleyma I know that trick. Thanks though. But I still would want one not pinned next to it but rather a small window over on the screen at the corner.
@nessisonett I don't know how you come up with "better", it's clearly different. That's all I said. It's rather silly to imply that different means better. Looking through Steam top 100, there's a concrete differentiation of games being played. Nothing wrong with that, at all. And funny that you mentioned FIFA being a main console game when even FIFA on Steam had more players than God of War. I guess, there are some overlapping incidents after all.

@TheCollector316 According to Games industry. Biz, the percentage of copies on Playstation consoles (PS5, PS4) were 79%. The PS4 was 23%.

Dishonored
Prey
Deathloop
I do like all of their games. At least, those I played.
