Re: Insomniac Delists, Relists VR Catalogue, and Few Even Noticed

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

I would love to see VR almost exist alongside consoles as a go to thing, instead of feeling in its own little world. But I think Sony is finally doing the right thing in allowing affordable rentals of VR to increase the accessibility. I get severe moron sickness and years ago I tried a DK2 at the Bletchley computer museum (you have to go!!! So cool). I got so unbelievably nauseous on a rollercoaster that I stupidly agreed to do that I was basically in bed for 48 hours after that. Before the rollercoaster the physics games I tried were absolutely amazing. I get that VR has come a long way in 10 years but I'm honestly terrified to try it again.

But I would for a good cost and low commitment. And I would 100% buy one if that turned out well. The VR industry really needs to figure out how to get the masses to test it out, and not just at a special museum exhibit or Selfridges.

Re: Konami Announced a New Suikoden Game, But There's a Huge Catch

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

I miss the early days of smartphones. There were some fantastic mobile only games - pay once and unlock them. Some went on to become massive franchises (Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Plants vs Zombies) beyond the mobile world. Now only games like Genshin have become a franchise, and that was a massively budgeted thing. Gacha games are just so inherently predatory that it worries me how into them people can get.

Also, I miss Zenonia - not sure if anyone's played it but was a great mobile RPG back then. And it was destroyed the minute they added microtransactions to the series.

Re: This Stunning New PS5 RPG from Nacon Needs More Attention

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

@UltimateOtaku91 ahh I get it, I watched and read a bunch of reviews last year and thought meh indie studio, ambitious game, it's on sale, I'll support that. And tbh the reviews were all accurate but I still enjoyed the game a lot and platted it (astounding considering the bugs)

The world and plot were generic but cool, and I don't normally like grid based combat but it was really fun and extremely challenging in a lot of boss fights, the last one in particular. Definitely am going to grab this but unless the reviews say it's bug free I'm waiting a few months

Re: Sony Hits Back Hard at Bungie Lead's $200 Million Lawsuit

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

Lot of keyboards warriors here going off on tangents. Anyway, the ridiculous amount he's suing for makes me think he's wanting Sony to settle, which may happen just to avoid the publicity of the charges. But those out of context texts that were leaked are pretty.... *****, tbh. Not professional at all.

Re: Rumour: Rocksteady's Next Single-Player Game Based on Batman Beyond, May Be a PS5 Exclusive

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

@Vladspartan not true. The beautiful thing about DC is they've never been afraid to experiment with their characters in any medium. Gotham Knights had flaws but it was a fun game, Suicide Squad was ... well, it could have been good from a story perspective if they changed every other system.

But Batman Beyond would be good - and it could take place in the Arkhamverse just like it took place in BTAS. With Kevin Conroy gone it's a good opportunity to recast the Arkham character to be older. And get Will Friedle back.

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2's Performance on PC Has Not Been Amazing

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

That's ok, the game wasn't that amazing either. I'm a huge Spider-Man fan, even had the comics delivered monthly as a kid, but Spider-Man 2 was not a great game. It was ok but but nowhere near as smooth storywise as the first one.

Anyway, it's astounding Sony doesn't put the property attention into PC. Doesn't matter if it's not your primary platform, you need to release a decent product otherwise people are going to avoid future releases

Re: Another Disney Classic Looks Locked for PS Plus Premium in the Future

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

I don't mind nostalgic releases like this but PlayStation needs to step it up and start to provide heavy hitters. There are SO MANY excellent games out there and a lot of what we got are Disney games. And not every game has trophies, despite them being mandatory on console. Hard to implement retroactively? Maybe, but be transparent. The premium catalog is a joke, few gems in a sea of meh

Re: The GTA 6 2025 Release Window May Have Just Gotten Smaller

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

@UK_ might be delayed but I doubt it, they've been developing it for basically a decade and they seem pretty committed to that date that being said,. Rockstar games usually launch in an amazingly high quality state, but all of the originators of the series are long gone and the publisher has very obviously taken over decision making, so while it may make the 2025 release date I wouldn't be surprised if there were significant bugs.

And the lack of another trailer means nothing and it's good they've not started marketing it properly yet. It should be a few months' long of a campaign but extremely penetrative and bombastic, that way it'll get people hyped but not be long enough for the hype to die down. Or, oddly, allow the hype to get too out of control

Re: Sony Quietly Pulls 'Eslop' Titles in Face of Mounting Pressure

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

@LogicStrikesAgain I like to look at All Deals but it's impossible to navigate since all of the shovelware is listed at like 99p, and then at high points they start mixing in with actual good games so it's easy to miss them.

I've resorted to a third party price tracking site where I'm able to hide specific games. It takes forever but after (years..) of using the site I can pretty much immediately see the good stuff. And even then there's always 20 to 30 more shovelware I need to hide. I shouldn't have to do any of this.

Re: Looks Like Resident Evil 5 Is Getting a PS5 Port Too

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

I never played RE1, 2 or 3, played 10 minutes of 4 and hated it, but played through 5 multiple times both solo and coop. I know it was blasted for the direction it took the series but it was a really fun coop action game. I will say though that even though I say and associate "Resident Evil 5" with the game comfortably, if I hear "Resident Evil" I never would think of 5. Not sure if that makes sense 🤷‍♂️

But I love how they reinvented the series with 7, going first person and back into the creepy horror bits.

Re: Rumour: Devil May Cry Remake Supposedly Outed by Vergil Voice Actor

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

Capcom honestly has been fantastic with their old IPs post the Mega Man Legends 3 debacle, which angered a very niche audience. If they are remaking DMC then I'm sure it will be a top quality production, however if they were remaking it then would there even be a need for a younger Vergil voice? It'd either be a recast or just have him be himself (unless he sounds ancient now). So we'll see. Or maybe it's a prequel or something.

Re: New PS5 Games Release Dates in 2025

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

It is an absolute trip to see years old comments here from people excited about then upcoming games. Time really does go faster as you get older hahaha

I'm looking forward to the Max Payne remakes and The Witcher 4 but I'm genuinely curious about GTA 6 - will it meet all the hype?! People in the future will know

Re: Games Workshop Reportedly Cancels Mysterious Fantasy Warhammer RPG

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

@Northern_munkey I actually messaged them after they released the PS5 version about an Inquisitor upgrade and also if the DLC was cross buy. The person who replied said that the upgrade wasn't free and implied that it wasn't the developers decision. The way it was worded implied (to me) that the devs weren't thrilled with that decision.

But you're right - the quality of the license is all over the place. I love that the IP is thrown across a lot of genres and there's a healthy amount of games coming out every year that are all drastically different, but they really could exert a bit more quality control over the titles. Although I'd also argue against that, because I'd worry the creativity would be stifled

Re: Rumour: PlayStation Is Working on Reviving Some of Its 'Deep Cut' Franchises

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

PlayStation's become so ridiculously greedy. Huge collection of excellent well regarded original IPs and they seem to solely focus on live service games and sequels to PS4-era ones that are all the exact same formula.

They should have set up a talented AA studio when thinking of their subscription service and have them pound out some remasters/AA remakes or sequels of the dormant IPs. Nothing that's expected to sell millions but are instead a bit different from the AAA flagships, maybe experimental a bit with features and styles, etc. Not only would they pad out that subscription service to justify the insane price increase but would also potentially have an unexpected hit they can build on.

Hate how every publisher seems to be intent on spending 4+ years developing a game that may or may not be a hit.

Re: Outriders Dev People Can Fly Cancels Multiple Projects, Laying Off 120 Staff

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

I really like People Can Fly's games. They're never the greatest of all time but I've always found them to be something many other games are not - mindlessly fun, bit goofy, always enjoyable on some level. I really wish they would be finding more success but unfortunately I guess they're stuck in the Gears of War era and have never evolved.

And I guess that's why I like them. I miss the Gears of War era

Re: You Can Get Excited for The Game Awards, Says Reputable Journalist

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

For me, the issue is that it's very obviously a show purely about marketing. Trailer after trailer after trailer, boring rehearsed speeches and pre-recorded interviews, you forget 90% of what's been shown with minutes.

The thing about E3 was that you got a steady drip of info across every platform in every type of genre over several days. And you got journalists who were able to go hands on with the games and not only provide written previews but also be able to provide context from their interviews and informal chats with the developers themselves to add a lot of flavour to the articles. Now every single article is a three sentence rehash of a trailer, because that's all they're given

Re: PlayStation Joins Social Media Shift as Bluesky Rockets in Popularity

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

Gonna be honest, I kind of like Threads. Clean looking, bit confusing to navigate (might be a bug in at least one area?) but I enjoy the simplicity. Twitter was always a bit oblivious looking for me going back ten years and even though I don't care that Musk owns it, I do care that my feed somehow has become filled with the most controversial and misogynistic/racist posts ever. Which mates no sense because I don't tweet and only follow video game developers and actors/writers I like

Re: In the UK, You Can't Buy a PS5 Pro Disc Drive without Paying a Premium

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

@Medic_alert so you're saying to go to a third party website to buy a discount? I obviously chose a few games instead of doing a long list, but yes you can wait for a sale and hope the prices drop low or you can buy physical significantly cheaper any time, resell if you'd like to recoup cost, and most importantly - you actually own it.

But if you want to defend Sony trying to have a monopoly over their games go ahead 🤷‍♂️

Re: In the UK, You Can't Buy a PS5 Pro Disc Drive without Paying a Premium

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

This one's on Sony. They want their consumers to be 100% locked into their storefront, where they obviously set the prices and control discounts.

Pricing comparison of digital vs eBay physical:
Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut: £70 vs £32.99

HZD Complete: £45 for remaster as original was delisted vs £9.79 for PS4 + £10 upgrade if you wanted to

Spider-Man 2: £69.99 vs £30
