Re: Sony Aggrieves Anime Fans by Erasing Digital Funimation Content in Crunchyroll Merger

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

These companies are really trying to encourage piracy again, and it has the government support this time considering the acquisition wasn't blocked. Is there viable mainstream competition to Sony's anime holdings now? Netflix is releasing some great content and also has a few classic big hitters but it's nothing compared to this.

Now that I typed that, I almost wish Netflix had bought Funimation.

Re: Rumour: PC, PS5 Versions of Media Molecule's Dreams Were Allegedly Real, Cancelled

Instead of GaaS generic shooters Playstation should have had some dedicated time to Dreams. Creative games can be huge (Roblox, etc), it just needs to be invested in. This game launched and was rarely spoken about again. PSVR2 support, a PC port, and maybe a "special" spot somewhere in the game store would have done wonders.

Should have just used the TLOU Factions money they pissed away to support MM

I'm very curious whether this is DD2, an enhanced remake of DD, or something in between. I'm pretty sure it's the latter because everything announced and shown is either extremely gorgeous modern updates of the original DD or features the developers have said they wish they'd time/tech to do back in the day.

It doesn't matter though because it looks amazing. The first game was great despite obvious flaws and with the original team back on it with the gorgeous RE engine I cannot wait

Re: UK's GAME Stores to Stop Accepting Trade-Ins from Next Month

eBay and CeX it is. It's funny how executives will say a company is losing money, then strip it of everything left that made up the brand, then say it's still not making money and shut it down. Still bitter they closed the Stratford Game in Westfield..

Honestly, if their used game prices were rated against the average eBay price + 10% the company would be so much more appealing, but Game and GameStop seem to think selling newly released used games for £3 cheaper than new is a great deal

I'll say this on every blog every time there is an article like this. Police really need to take this stuff seriously. Swatting, harassment, stalking, death threats - does anyone remember the man who died when police murdered him after being given a wrong address during a swatting attempt? I get it would be impossible to track every single person down, but at least be public about how serious it's being taken.

Re: Alan Wake Set for Dead by Daylight, More Info Tomorrow

@nomither6 there are a ton of competitors and clones, big named ones too. DBD is the best one though... Not sure why it gets so much hate - it's fun, looks pretty good, great for playing with friends, and constantly updated. If people want perfectly balanced games and no issues whatsoever then they need to reset their expectations

Re: Guide: PS Portal FAQ - All Your Questions Answered

I was actually changing my mind on buying this - we're having a baby, only have one TV, my girlfriend loves to watch stuff I don't enjoy, literally fulfill every niche reason to justify dropping £200 (a ridiculous sum).

Deal-breaker is the lack of Bluetooth. Zero reason they couldn't allow me to use my existing earbuds beyond idiotic greed. I hope this fails and a second revision with Bluetooth comes out.

Re: PS Plus Premium Members Can Test Drive Another Brand New PS5 Game

I don't understand how PlayStation thinks demos should be available if you pay for a subscription. Why has there been no major journalist/gaming community outcry over this?

Anyway, I wish I could play these types of games on console but I did The Sims 4 and the controls were awful. Planet Coaster too. Are any of these games pleasant to use a controller with??

Re: Impressive and Beautiful Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Made with 'No Compromises' for PS5

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

The gameplay is okay on the Spider-Man games, the combat really doesn't inspire me despite feeling very fluid, but I'm super excited for the story. MM wasn't great but it was a shorter and smaller can't, but I was actually surprised and impressed at how dark the first one was. Marvel obviously is removing some of the MCU barriers and allowing them to take some creative risks.

Re: Can You Put a Price on a Quality RPG? Yes, and It's Rising All the Time

I hate that developers seem to equate throwing dozens or hundreds of millions of dollars at development with higher chance of success. Maybe it's true and I'm old and dumb, but the PS3 era had really good budget titles. I'm glad THQ Nordic are around - they must be successful considering how many old IPs they're reviving on an obvious budget that are faithfully done, fun, and affordable

Re: 32 Games Will Be Taken Off PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Month

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

@Chaotic_Goat Sony made it very clear and it was widely reported that they do not want to add first party games at launch because it would "de-value" the games, so that's kind of on you for not researching.

That being said - I subscribed for the "retro" games and besides an odd few all they're doing is charging more money for the same games that were on PS Now, with a few decent extras that can be purchased separately. So maybe joke's on me

Re: MultiVersus Has Now Been Removed from PS5, PS4 Stores

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

@NEStalgia what do you mean? It feels very much like another studio's take on Smash Bros.. battle passes are annoying but commonplace unfortunately, just like premium and.. extra premium currencies to unlock skins and characters. Normal for a free to play. What part is mobile that's different from other games with currency and unlockables? League of Legends?

Re: Rumour: Iconic PS1 RPG The Legend of Dragoon Adding Trophies on PS Plus Premium

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

@TaMpA_bLaCk you're still talking about a modern version of a demo and mixing it up with the marketing jargon being used. In fact, it's probably even more affordable to release a demo now as it's essentially the full game with a timer, right? Back in the day they'd have to essentially make a mini game for people to try since they had no real way to timelock it. Saves carrying forward, trophy unlocks, etc are very much natural enhancements to the modern version of a demo.
