@old_gamer74

Oh boy, it will blow both titles out of the water for you if I dare say so!

Balatro-creator readily admits that his game is heavily inspired by Slay The Spire. I think it is the GOAT.

Basically, you have different characters with their own card pool + a neutral card pool for all. You can win relics and unlock them for more powerful "runs" to continually pick at goals for this.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 591

EfYI

A game I keep playing when I subscribe to Plus is Slay the Spire. No card game, except for the Gwent-Golden Era, has come close to the level of attachment and replayability.

Also, I have started Banisher: Ghosts of Eden. So far, I like that the Nightmare presents such a huge challenge to the protagonists in the very beginning.

I am also trying to finish Death Stranding. It is going somewhat slow.

Re: Sony Invests in Elden Ring Publisher Bandai Namco, Signs Strategic Partnership

EfYI

I think that Sony once a year throws out 500 million for some anime we never hear about again. 'Crunchy Loop' or something I remember was the first.

Awful business sense. Nobody watches anime and I've never paid anything for anime and never will.

#Anti-Jinx (now that I've down voted it in so strong terms, the universe will make sure it is a least not a complete disaster)

Re: 'I Much Prefer PS Plus' Lifecycle Management Strategy': Devs Chime in on Xbox Game Pass Impact

EfYI

@Fiendish-Beaver

I think your xbox-scenario is plausible and I have similar ideas. But they have the games to start walling off their garden once again. Not even a desperate gambler could replicate the moves that Exbox Execs are pulling.

Yeah, didn't mention the AMOUNT of games on offer. A lot of good AI-slop on sale at Sony, maybe. I don't know if that is why the two numbers are so different. But it isn't related to whose store is the most cheap one, so I didn't really see the relevance.

It just makes sense that a struggling storefront might present their users with bigger opportunities to save on their games to bolster the sales data and for some pennies saved are nothing to scoff at. But OKAY mostly the same price points and small, if irregular, differences, I'll give you that in lieu of an actual market investigation based on big amounts of data.

Re: 'I Much Prefer PS Plus' Lifecycle Management Strategy': Devs Chime in on Xbox Game Pass Impact

@Fiendish-Beaver

Eh, so far two articles clearly indicate that it is possible to save more on games with the Xbox platform and that's without counting Gamepass. I have owned all PlayStations and have never seen a sale with 50+ titles on 95 per cent.

There's also store credit that more often than PS goes on sale (at least in my region).

I'll submit exibit C when the evidence is gathered and collected for me via news sites. Or maybe just remember yourself and check sometimes.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Showcase Announced for Tomorrow

EfYI

I have to manage expectations. This update will amount to no more than a boring new skin for a slightly undercooked vehicle gameplay system.

It isn't quests of quality or improvements to Pro performance. I wouldn't be able to tell it was updated if they didn't triumphantly announce a 'reveal' with a single exec.

Re: 'You Buy the Game and You Get the Whole Thing': Judas Dev Not About Live Service

EfYI

Shut up and take my money!

He is referencing the best kind of games ever made!

I know Colin Moriarty from Sacred Symbols are dying to get his dirty hands on this game. With the time taken, I can only assume they're trying to make a game that's even more awesome than Bioshock: Infinity which is the only game I played by him, I think.

I played it recently and was shocked to find out it was a PS3 game!

Re: Xbox's Forza Horizon 5 Sold an Outrageous 2 Million Copies on PS5 in a Month

EfYI

@Exerion76

With the way Playstation 5 has been selling vs the exbox, you have to realize it is exbots turned pony that are driving sales.

True Scotsmen are playing GT.

Disclaimer I am aware that car game enthusiasts that wanted to play the series have bought the game, so my comment amounts to little more than banter. I'll get me coat.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for July 2025?

EfYI

Very interesting to find a whopping 15 per cent disingenuous voters, most definitely distributed between exboys lurking, people kicked in the head by a horse, and people trying to rig the poll whilst dealing with acute cognitive dissonance.

Interestingly, not a single one able to put down a credible argument in the comments as to why it would be terrible.

Way to go, sustainable Sony.

It's summer holidays and the weather is good. We've gone to a cozy summerhouse with lots of hiking opportunities + amusements parks.

Luckily I have a Portal for mornings and nights and are finishing up a playthrough of The Devil in Me because I wanted to "play" a movie. I really like it. Try it if you like a good horror story. I constantly reroll to save lives.

PS Plus has been great for me with these narrative adventures during the years.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on Ghost of Yotei?

EfYI

You will have my bow.

AND MY AXE

Edit:

Seems a lot of people have been kicked in the head by horses recently.

I DIDN'T go for Rise of Ronin or Assassin's Creed because I wanted to see what Sucker Punch might do, and this game blows them out of the water making it easy to pick Yotei.

I think they deserve a rare day one purchase from me on account of my berfdey and all.

Re: 'We're Just Getting Started': Sony Marks 15 Years of PS Plus with Future Pledge

EfYI

GOW: Ragnarok
TLOU 1: Remake
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Cyberpunk 2077

World-class games are available on the service.

Congratulations to Sony for delivering a great service that has engaged hundreds of million people through the 15 years so far. Is this their strongest Exta-month ever?

70+ comments on the newest additions and not 1 negative Nancy must be some kind of a record, eh?

Re: 10 New PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Announced for July 2025

EfYI

I don't understand why it is so easy to turn every game on PC into a VR game. You have modders (teams or individuals, I don't know) that add mods or transforms flatscreen games into VR, yet it never becomes available on PS5.

Why don't gaming companies hire these modders. Is it really more valuable for them to hold back on it rather than help grow the VR scene?

Re: Oblivion Remastered Patch 1.2 Detailed, Adds New Difficulty Options, Improves Performance, More

EfYI

@KundaliniRising333

You are completely right. A very effective marketing campaign with measured leaks creates the perfect opportunity to part a "fool"* with his money. It even outshone one of the most anticipated indies that had grabbed attention in big showcase(s). It wouldn't have done that without game journalists and influencers.

*Everyone knows Bethesda games will simply act up now and again - even devs have diligently resolved a heap of issues. And I am sure it is a great game. It was legendary after all.

The lesson here is twofold. Consumers: Don't expect too much from a Bethesda game. Publishers: Allow devs to spend more time on polish and bugsquashing. Have it in the scheduling from the beginning.

There's a secret lesson also: The universe rewards patient gamers who wait for a game to reach a point in its lifetime where support has run its course and price has gone down.

Re: 10 New PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Announced for July 2025

EfYI

What an amazing month.

If you haven't pulled the trigger on Cyberpunk then take heed and listen: This is a masterpiece, and you need to play it!

Since I don't benefit from Cyberpunk being added, I am quite happy to see Banishers: Ghosts of Eden, Tropico 6 and New World: Aeternum. All awarded a solid 8 by these squares being pushed around.

Re: 'I Much Prefer PS Plus' Lifecycle Management Strategy': Devs Chime in on Xbox Game Pass Impact

EfYI

@NishimuraX

Let me put it this way: I have never read a comment on any site or channel from an exbot that disavows GamePass. They have been effectively conditioned into accepting the subscription model. Few users still profess to buy, and one would assume it is the more affluent users. I can't blame GP users for throwing themselves at such ridiculous offers - they must feel like they deserve it at this point seeing as their trillion-dollar horse in the race has come in a clear second in almost ALL of the races, except for the Playstation 3-era.

I JUST saw a YouTube video by chance. I prefer using sites like this for infotainment. In the video, they're talking about XBOX Prime, a new powerful console set to kickstart M$' foray into Next-Gen gaming with a head start on Sony. So, as a Sony Pony I look forward to seeing if They ACTUALLY gave up on the console war and the idea that competition benefits both companies.

As for Dring's tweets: he could have so many incentives to try and reframe the narrative and so I don't find him credible. Corden is also tweeting that 'more is coming' which is just as credible as Dring's report. WHY would exbox publish on PS5 IF they didn't need the money to mitigate the bankrolling of loyal exbots?

Re: 'I Much Prefer PS Plus' Lifecycle Management Strategy': Devs Chime in on Xbox Game Pass Impact

EfYI

@Stickleman

It is as much a loss leader as a basket of free groceries is - when you have that why buy anything else?

So, M$ is incompetent in their pricing strategy and they are failing their employees and quite frankly backstabbing them considering how much money they have.

They don't have to act callously, they choose to for the sake of incentives in executive wages and shareholder$.

PS Plus is great value. GamePass is just stupidly cheap. So cheap it destroys gaming and Xbox gaming by attrition. But for some reason, the xbots HAS to be babied. They consistently are awarded deals that are better than what their competition offer: on their gaming storefront, on third party websites like Purexbox, on subscriptions. And yet so far, they have been beaten at every turn because Sony makes better games, consoles and peripherals.

I am happy to NOT take the Game pass deal and happy to NOT buy games that are on GamePass to signal to the devs/publishers that putting your games on the service isn't exactly driving their sales.
