I am looking forward to seeing how Fable turns out and if it is worth the wait (I never waited per se as I'm drowning in games to play, but you know what I mean).
Killing off a British comedian of his stature and demeanor could be an essential experience. If you could take a long walk through his decaying nostril or scrotum would be the very definition of a scenic route.
I read the first part of your first comment that you "sold" your PS hardware, and was like: "What a waste of space and everyone's time that you keep posting on a PS centric site". But then I thought how valuable it actually could be to hear from a former disgruntled customer and their perspective.
First they offer a HUGELY subjective assertion that posits them as victims then they argue to only look at facts.
They might just want to perform a little damage control to make sure people open their wallets and they continue to communicate to the consumer by mentioning DLC and updates.
I am sorry, but I believe the insider who spilled the beans.
I can't help but laugh at how this doesn't offer anything new. It's just a shiny graph, yet some people cannot help but parade it around in a gloating fashion proudly assuming some sort of superior position and supposedly looking forward to comments. I don't get the inclination.
Anyways, a few notes:
when you have the majority of the gaming industry actively trying to kill off physical media it isn't surprising that it's trending this way
Streaming libraries where you arguably get tons of value has basically replaced the used market for users like me. Instead of waiting for a second hand disk at GameStop, I wait for deep sales or for it to enter rotation in PS Plus.
I bought TWO PS5s without disc drive, and the external one is constantly out of stock. Seems quite anti-physical to begin with.
I don't miss discs not working, but I still think that they absolutely should cater to the minority who enjoys true physical media.
It might be the right time to push such an initiative. Hard wired TVs ought to give quite good results. Personally, I can accept experiences others perhaps wouldn't.
Amazon has botched game development but if they can manage a great streaming experience they might become important.
The wifi I am currently stuck with in the Arctic Circle isn't great and it annoying to lose connection all the time which they should definitely improve for the Portal experience. Or give me my handheld PS console (If I can stomach the price).
However, I completely gave up on trying to get into the Older games as they looked like the capital of Euro Jank. Bad graphics, weird controls, obtuse UI. Now, this is NOT a problem once you get into a game, and I've heard good things about the games.... But I want a newer, better made game and that might be STALKER2.
While I hesitate, the game gets expanded and patched. Not a bad bargain. The price goes down and the quality goes up.
I would prefer that Sony is forced to make major concessions through sheer attrition on one (SoMe) front and hard power through the other i.e. legislation in Europe, Asia, and the US.
I'd rather this, knowing what it entails, than see them getting away with such scummy behaviour which points towards a future where they divest me of my investments into their platform.
I am currently at Lofoten on holiday which is what Skellige is modeller after. So, I have been slightly tempted to return to The Witcher 3 after all the updates starting with a graphical brush up and a mission I believe. If it is free it would be devastating towards my resistance
Apparently, after making it to Act III in Baldur's Gate 3 I've somehow racked up hundreds of hours in the game without finishing it even once! This time, I'm in the Rivington area getting trolled by Orin.
I keep finding new things and are combing my way through the areas, so I am getting the most out of this stellar game.
This playthrough I managed to recruit Minthara (who is wonderful by the way), so the camp is chock-full and I'm trying to get as many of my characters fielded, especially when a quest pertains to them.
I played through New Vegas and enjoyed the bones of it, but thought it to be archaic in some areas coming from Fallout 4 which I still rate as the best Fallout!
I am looking forward to this remake for sure as it would probably be, overall, the best experience out there.
I agree with it potentially being framed as a false narrative, but have in mind she RESPONDS to questions not of her making. The moment you start weaving another argument into your reply about it NOT being God of War I start disagreeing with you. GOW can be whatever the IP-owner does with it creatively. Her place in the universe has been planned all along.
Secondly, representation for minorities are important and it also teaches the majority empathy. Representation for the majority happens 'naturally'. Start counting and you'll see!
That makes perfect sense. She doesn't know what forms of gatekeeping and ridiculing takes place in chronically online fora.
I could add that she also can feel unbothered because she is extremely privileged and super rich, but those facts are rarely mentioned. I especially like she doesn't perform the mental gymnastics of assuming the role of a victim like Laura Bailey and Neil Drug man.
After REALLY enjoying a playthrough of Ragnarok on the Pro, I know the world will be in for a good time.
Yeah, gamers are fickle like that. We do not put our money where our mouths are.
It's prime material for subscription-based services. I think it resembles, in some ways, Harold Halibut which has a very distinct art style (paper mache) and an interesting world.
Your point comes much better across, so I agree with you on that one. Bad faith communication will likely only bring about less desirable outcomes like turning away people who value integrity!
I don't know why 9 people liked your comment where you initially respond to Pat trick, but if you read it again no negative traits are being ascribed to you. You have to infer that. He says people need to stand up to tyranny or they'd be steamrolled.
It is a bit ironic but your response is unfortunately indicative of what I would label toxicity as. Real quick: The cooperative principles of language are flouted in your response breaking several of Grice's maxims.
It could be funny to see big entities like the US and the EU figure out some sort of legislation that guarantees the same kind of ownership as a physical disc, complete with a market for used licenses. If there's a Sony tax for selling your game to someone else and losing access to everything but local/cloud save data that would be amazing.
We also need to be able to get physical media - movies and music is still found in physical form. In fact, we need laws in place to guarantee it.
If such laws were set up I'd enjoy the Sony lawyers' look in their faces as all their hard work to ruin our beautiful hobby would be rendered null and void!
Hahaha! You nailed it - my guard was just down due to the sheer idiocy spouted from COD buds.
Take the "cOd iS aLWays exPENsive-logic" spouted somewhere in this thread. I couldn't write derisive satire on the subject better than the cod buds earnestly do.
Even though Halo coming to PlayStation obviously still being extremely funny, it would also be extremely hollow to walk down to a physical store bringing home a "physical copy" knowing that Sony is transitioning into a less consumer-friendly entity. Of course, as I've gone digital for me it is rather a click to buy and click to download. But when/if I do, I'll also start a timer for when I inevitably 'lose the license'. Hopefully, that timer is more than 30 years. I feel like I should be able to bequeth my games to my kids as an inheritance.
How are you even able to divorce one from the other in your logic?
Price should ALWAYS factor into the equation - only fools wanting to be dearly departed from their money would demand no consideration given towards the price (Think of the "Shut up and take my money-meme).
There must be something I am missing, you can lecture me on?
I have been playing Baldur's Gate 3 on Tactician level.
I have been having a lot of fun:
Karlach is a spear-throwing berserker that does a ton of damage and often leaves the target prone (if alive). I use her to jump anywhere, and hilariously throw archers and mages into the fray or down somewhere.
My druids and mage can field an Air elemental, a minor elemental called Azer, 3 skeletal archers, and a Dryad that can summon a Wood Woad. That's 7 extra bodies in a given match per character. I think I also can raise a flying ghoul. The Fireball spell and Hunger of Hadar are the bane of my existence!!
Gale has my staff that uses Ray of Frost, specced into making wide circles of ice that often leaves the target prone
My main ranger applies hunter's mark, bane curse and reverberation to his targets through clever use of the items I find. It makes every shot of the crossbow sound like fireworks.
Replaying as a good guy really makes me want to start a dark urge playthrough.
In the context of M$ having spent billions of dollars just to scale down massively, acknowledging that they are flipflopping on strategy, communication and identity, with the knowledge of how many studios close down, and lastly the guarantee that M$ is going to continue slashing the budgets and personel (1500 more jobs?) I don't think you'd need a grain of salt. You need a continent of salt.
It is shocking to hear how far and wide these cuts reach.
The deroute of M$ was entirely foreseeable though. We knew they mismanage teams. They had basically no real games coming out before the acquisitions. So, not only did PlayStation users complain that games like Starfield was taken away, but we also expressed concern how M$ would manage being so big.
The cuts to ID Software and Elder Scrolls 6 are insane to me. It really shows desperation. Also, the threat of 1600 jobs to be removed a little further down the line is diabolical. Are they trying to extort their remaining devs?
I'm very hyped, but also very much behind on buying temporary licenses. The pile of must-have games are piling up and if it was in front of my door I'd be caved in.
That being said, I'm very intrigued by the confidence Rebel Wolves shows in their game.
I need to see and hear a little more from them to cement my firsthand impression though.
I hope that the machine can entice many PS4/5-owners to upgrade in enough numbers to be successful.
And I hope that Sony have already scaled its operation to fit reality. If the adoption rate is slower and people are fine to stay with their consoles, the newer consoles are like expensive phones.
Bad news for Sony, good news for Hick. He can't get outta the cave nowadays too much on account of all the rakes surrounding him. Last time you came to see us, it was to rationalize the idiotic layoffs at M$ when it was "only" three studios.

The T-pose is so funny though, especially if they just float around without animating their movement. Hard to get mad about that.
Re: Big STALKER 2 Overhaul Coming 20th August in 2.0 Patch and First DLC
I really hope that M$ paid for the DLC and would send me a copy to play through.
Otherwise it's like nr. 33 on my must-own, soon-to-buy, pinky promise purchase list.

I guess as a lazy consumer I blame whatever logo I see in front of me.
I had no idea that Amazon was part of the PSN infrastructure or whatever you'd call it.

I was so confused as to why I couldn't play my Portal (away from on home on holiday). A worldwide failure of service makes sense.
