It was excellent. From early on, I had something incredible to play while having something else to look forward to: Dead Space - Metroid Prime Remastered - Hogwarts Legacy - RE4 Remake - Jedi: Survivor - Tears of the Kingdom - Final Fantasy 16 - Starfield - Assassin's Creed Mirage - Super Mario Wonder - Spider-Man 2 - Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Can't believe I went through all of those and completed most of them (still working through Phantom Liberty and while I completed the final boss battle early and most shrines in Tears of the Kingdom, I'm saving it for later). Really enjoyed all the games I mentioned.

Edit: Forgot the DLC for Horizon Forbidden West. Not the best, but also enjoyed it.

Well, while I enjoyed it, it was nowhere near #1 for me. From PS, I enjoyed Final Fantasy 16 a lot more. And while Baldur's Gate 3 was not for me, I reckon it is an amazing game and deserved the top spot.
This one does have much broader appeal; I'll give you that.

Spider-man 2 ahead of BG2 and Alan Wake 2? Really must Sony exclusives win at all costs?

@Nepp67 my advice. Don’t do it. If you’re convinced you don’t like that combat system, the game won’t change that. I was in the same situation like you. Bought it, and wasted 70. Some games as great as they are, aren’t for everyone.

I frankly couldn't care less about it spoiling Sony's confidential information about unreleased products. They should know by now and take better care of that. What's is unacceptable is that the hackers got access to employee's personal information, and it got out. Your employer has the obligation to ensure your information stays safe at all times.... Deplorable that these hackers exist in our society, but just as equally bad that a company of Sony's caliber doesn't have the appropriate measures to protect sensitive personal data.

I didn't have high hopes for this game. Playing the alpha build reaffirmed that. Didn't find it fun at all

@EfYI And it is probably one of my favorite games ever. Interesting how such a game can be so divisive. Few as much as this one.

@NotSoCryptic Sony didn’t show anything except a couple of third party exclusives and a DLC. How can they come on top by being pretty much a no show?

BTW, Death Stranding never came to Xbox, just to PC Gamepass.

@ChrisDeku I was talking about this show, Ifoind that what Microsoft showed las night was more interesting. That’s all. I don’t care for either company. I just own all 3 consoles and play whichever game I like that comes out for any of them.

Sony came on top? I thought Hellblade 2, and Blade 2 from Arkane Lyon (admittedly who knows when that will be out, seemed very early) were more exciting, not to mention OD (I was actually expecting it to be Death Stranding 2 which I am looking forward to). I am more hyped about those than anything that Sony showed. Quite excited about the surprise drop for FF16 and looking to dive into that this weekend.

@Nepp67 Me three. I saw that and my thought was: "really why would we ever need that here?"

@UltimateOtaku91 what incentive would Sony have to make things better? They could make everything live service since there is no other option and we would have to suck it up or abandon the hobbie. Careful with what you wish for. One option would definitely make the industry worse, not better.

@CutchuSlow What? The hardware itself is top-notch, having both PS5 and Xbox Series X I definitely think the Xbox looks much better and is also more powerful. The usual criticism is that they lack exclusives........

And yeah, sure kid, no one likes Activision or Bethesda games...I'm sure no one would like them having in their platform ...

Why are people rooting for Microsoft to exit the console space and just be a 3rd party publisher. I don't think that's going to happen any time soon as there install base is not negligible at all, despite Sony doing much better. But even if it did, do you really want to have the console market with only one player (there's still Nintendo, but we know that market is quite different)? The ones that benefit mostly from strong competition are the consumers....

@Pranwell Doubt anyone would pay for exclusivity for this, few people would care about having the code vs the full thing on disc. Those in forums and reddit don't reflect the vast majority of gamers.

Didn't know this was supposed to be a live service game, thought it was single player. If I wasn't that much interested on it before, this kills the deal.

I completed it last year. Haven't thought again about it. So I guess it was nothing special in my book.

Looks like WB is dead set on killing Rocksteady and NetherRealm studios, which were previously highly praised. Mortal Kombat 1 has a great core mechanics, but the monetization and lack of day 1 content will kill it. Suicide Squad had to be delayed because of the reception of the live service stuff and they double down on this?

Sony has managed to do the impossible once again - make an even uglier PS5. Honestly I think that line going through the middle of the cover make it looks worse. But as long as what is inside continues to be top notch, we should be good.

Yawn, probably just a trailer with release still 3-4 years out. Hopefully I’m wrong but I doubt it will come anytime soon.

Spiderman 2 and Starfield for my single player games, while also going through Mario Wonder with my wife and having a lot of fun.

@BAMozzy I can just download cyberpunk and be ready to play it in 10 - 15 minutes. Why do people need instant access to games they haven’t played in years.

I like Mirage, but want my open world RPGs. Odyssey is my favorite.

@Czar_Khastik you wait til then. It’s quite an impressive game now. And more than worthy of full price. Best part is that you can easily find it heavily discounted.

@Voltan Don't feel too bad for the guy, I'm sure whenever those comments make him feel bad, he can just open his banking and brokerage accounts and he'll feel much better.

@Grimwood just shows you know nothing about the genre. The gameplay and mechanics are completely different from MK11, which was completely different from MKX.

@awp69 this is the way. My last gaming experiences are TOTK, FF16 and Starfield. Love them all and the fact that I can play all of them.

@Dragon83 that’s always been the practice with fighting games though. How many editions of Street Fighter II did we have? Adding character, stages, etc. Same with Mortal Kombat 3, UMK3 and finally MK Trilogy. All updates that added different characters and updates to the same core game, and I would argue all should have been included at launch. And back then it was even worse, you couldn’t upgrade your base game or t you wanted from the new characters, you had to buy the whole game again.

@KundaliniRising333 Just sounds how little you know about the genre. MK11 played NOTHING like MKX (and many hardcore gamers complained about it as they perceived as it was simplified), and from what I played from MK1 beta test, it looks like they changed the mechanics quite a bit. No way it can be compared to the yearly sports games.

@Beerheadgamer82 some games make great use of it though. Particularly I thought Final Fantasy 16 was great with a lot of contrast, looked gorgeous on my C2

This is one game that left me with zero interest to go back to this world. I enjoyed my time with it, but unlike Ghost of Tsushima I don’t have the slightest urge to do new game +, or dive into much of this world. Can’t nail down why either, just overall it wasn’t very appealing to me I guess.

Too busy with Starfield for now and never been a big fan of CRPG - still curious about it because of all the praise. Might pick it up later

@Jacko11 I do and since I do most of my multiplayer / multi-platfrom gaming on Xbox I canceled. I’m subbed to Gamepass ultimate til 2026 so didn’t see any value to keep it at this rate.

I’ll just let my essentials subscription expire. Xbox is my preferred platform for multi platforms anyway and I’m subbed to Gamepass ultimate until April 2026. Was debating on which platform to get MK1 for, this helped me made the decision.

@Darude84 that’s exactly what happened to me last Sunday. I thought I was nearing completion then and suddenly those 20 side quests appeared. Guess it gave me another weekend with the game. I have cleared like 5 or so, plan to complete them over the next couple of days

Plan to complete it this weekend after doing the final round of side quests and the final quest..... with Starfield dropping next Friday won't be able to have these two RPGs, and still going through TOTK.

@PixelDragon or just you trying to justify what one company does is ok, but the other one is not. It is well known that Sony was approaching everyone to get third party exclusives. Microsoft had biggest pockets and to counter this decided to buy publishers. Sony doesn’t get to set the rules nor the market is defined by Sony’s financial limitations.

@Bingo-Bongo That's exactly what I thought. Looks beautiful, runs perfectly and looks extremely polished. But so far, gameplay feels to me like a slowed down version of Mortal Kombat 11 (which wasn't that fast to begin with).

@Nightcrawler71 that’s exactly what I think. It runs on PCs far weaker than a Series S, not to mention the much weaker Steam Deck.

Interesting, seems that people either love it or hate it. I actually love it quite a bit, approaching the end and I don't want it to end! Taking my time doing all side quests and marks whenever they become available, but doesn't seems I'll be able to do that for much longer.

Got it on Xbox and love it. But if anything I would buy it for Switch for the portability. The PS4 version would not add anything over the one I already own and would just make me 50 poorer. But for 50, yeah, no way in hell

Considering I got the Xbox version for around 10 several years ago, can’t see anything accurate about this.

@Mattock1987 have you completed it? I’m close to and have really enjoyed it so far, wondering if I should start a new game+ on the higher difficulty or call it a day.

Wow, the pricing is such a tipo-off. I paid like 10 for the Xbox version 8 years ago under discount once it was made backwards compatible. And they want 50 for what looks to be a port of pretty much the same quality? Way to rip PlayStation users.

Too bad this game never made a big impact. I loved it and I think most people that gave it a chance also did.

@somnambulance don’t recall Baraka, but I do remember Li Mei and Tanya, I thought those were the stretch but there they Are. Also the kombat pack was spot on.
