Re: Here's Why Sony Is Making a Japan-Specific PS5 Console

Blaze215

@TrollOfWar I completely understand why they are doing this. The point is maybe all the price hikes weren't necessary and we could actually be getting cheaper consoles 5 years into the ps5. So Sony is price gauging in areas where they can while making up excuses as to why they are hiking the price for customers that actually buy their products

Re: PS6 Out 'in a Few Years' as Sony, AMD Discuss the Future of Games

Really shows the how disappointing this gen has been just looking at the comments here. No excitement for a new console, I mean has the mood ever been this low before on news a new playstation console is on the horizon? I for one will wait until the pro version comes out before I decide if I am buying, I jumped too early with the ps5 and regret my purchase massively so I have learned my lesson.

Re: Ghost of Yotei Follows in Tsushima's Footsteps, Dominates Japanese Charts on PS5

@SeaDaVie let's just take last year for an example since its the most recent full year.

There isn’t an exact public figure for PS5 physical vs digital sales in Japan for 2024, but based on available data we can make a pretty good estimate.
CESA’s 2022 industry report (summarized in several Japanese gaming outlets) showed that around 65% of PS5 game sales in Japan were physical at that time. Since then, digital adoption has grown globally and locally, and 2024 Famitsu charts show PS5 physical copies making up a much smaller slice of the overall market.

So a reasonable estimate for 2024 would be roughly 55% physical / 45% digital for PS5 game sales in Japan — possibly a bit lower depending on how you measure it.

Japan still leans more physical than Western markets which is what were are talking about here.

Re: People Don't Buy Anywhere Near As Many Games As You Think

Blaze215

I used to buy a lot more in previous years but this year has only been exp 33. I would buy more but have absolutely no interest in the types of games coming out these days. This isn't nostalgia talking, games were so much more mechanically deeper and challenging before let's say, 2020 but probably even earlier than that really. It's just slop open world busy work, looter shooter or movie games these days. The gaming industry is being held up by a few tentplole giants such as cod and sports games but the bubble is going to burst when companies cant milk the super enthusiasts anymore

Re: Prototype Remaster Could Potentially Be Happening, Evidence Found in PC Version

Blaze215

Would love a sequel. The first was really good and the second improved basically all of the first games systems. Really impressive and in depth gameplay which still puts a lot of modern games to shame. Can't see a point in a remaster as they are already avaliable for ps5, a fresh coat of paint isn't gonna make me want to come back but ya, a sequel would be great.

Re: PS5's High Price Becoming a Serious Headache for Publishers

Blaze215

This year is the first i have let my ps plus lapse since the ps3 days and I do not miss it one bit. Also spending extremely little on games this past year, just nothing of interest to me. Only new game I bought was exp 33, the other games I bought probably came to a combined total of 50 or 60 euro. Nothing for me in the near future is coming out either which is pretty disappointing because playstation always had games in the pipeline I looked forward to

Re: Review in Progress: Lost Soul Aside (PS5) - Long Awaited Action Is Both Awesome and Awkward

Blaze215

The point i was making is do not take the reviews comments on the story being bland to heart. Other people might find it enjoyable. For example the review for veilguard mentioned how much they loved the story and characters. I can say for me personally and im sure many others that the story of veilguard was awful. So if a review mentions a story being bland in a game chances are, because of my taste, there's a good chance I will like it
