@SeaDaVie I disagree, going on the numbers we have which isn't much to be fair, I would speculate half Tsushimas sales or under. Not sure what data you are extrapolating your 10m plus prediction from
I used to buy a lot more in previous years but this year has only been exp 33. I would buy more but have absolutely no interest in the types of games coming out these days. This isn't nostalgia talking, games were so much more mechanically deeper and challenging before let's say, 2020 but probably even earlier than that really. It's just slop open world busy work, looter shooter or movie games these days. The gaming industry is being held up by a few tentplole giants such as cod and sports games but the bubble is going to burst when companies cant milk the super enthusiasts anymore
@DadJKP agree with you, massive oversimplification. Just because you call yourself something doesn't make it true. Can fool some though and thats the idea
Would love a sequel. The first was really good and the second improved basically all of the first games systems. Really impressive and in depth gameplay which still puts a lot of modern games to shame. Can't see a point in a remaster as they are already avaliable for ps5, a fresh coat of paint isn't gonna make me want to come back but ya, a sequel would be great.
I've been using my gaming PC to play ps1 games i missed out on as a kid. Started the suikoden series and love it. No interest in the vast majority of new releases these days
Very surprised at the survey results, at my time of checking only 52% said day one purchase. That's shockingly low for a playstation fan site. This game will be lucky to sell half of what GoT did. Could have been much more but it seems sucker punch have really changed these past few years and it's alienating a lot of potential customers.
This year is the first i have let my ps plus lapse since the ps3 days and I do not miss it one bit. Also spending extremely little on games this past year, just nothing of interest to me. Only new game I bought was exp 33, the other games I bought probably came to a combined total of 50 or 60 euro. Nothing for me in the near future is coming out either which is pretty disappointing because playstation always had games in the pipeline I looked forward to
The point i was making is do not take the reviews comments on the story being bland to heart. Other people might find it enjoyable. For example the review for veilguard mentioned how much they loved the story and characters. I can say for me personally and im sure many others that the story of veilguard was awful. So if a review mentions a story being bland in a game chances are, because of my taste, there's a good chance I will like it
@Jettstyles completely agree, as a European I've been seeing these price increases across the board post pandemic. The free money given out during that time has caused the rampant inflation we are living with now. But ya, orange man bad, tariffs are the cause, sure
Like many have said just wait til it's over and look at what was mentioned then. Is FOMO so bad people can't wait a few minutes after the show has finished? Don't complain about the slog of a show when you don't actually have to watch it.
This review score is incredibly generous. I know you can say 'this is the opinion of the reviewer don't take it to heart' but this is the score that will add to the metacritic average which can encourage companies to make the same mistakes in future. A review of a game that can get a 6 for just having good graphics/sound isn't a serious review.
These games are so tiring, battle pass, skins blah blah blah its all the same garbage and it just never ends does it. How can people get excited for a game that has been released dozens of times before. These games are just like fifa, same thing every time, slightly different look.
And also just to the point. If anyone is actually buying that they won't release these kinds of skins a few months after launch then I feel sorry for you, for you are truly lost.
@Gremio108 Hmm there actually was new ice knocking about. The ice caps grew significantly and famously even Londons river Thames froze for years. Yes it didnt last as long as normal ice ages, you could say it changed pretty quickly which is my point. Yes it wasn't caused by man. But you're certain that the climate change this time is caused by man? I have no doubt we have some affect on the climate but if you look into CO2 levels over the years (not just since 1901) you will see it was much higher many times in the past. Our contribution to climate change is miniscule in my opinion and from the evidence I have seen
@Gremio108 your point about the speed of change is false. There are many times in the earth's past where the climate changed just as fast as it is now. Google mini ice age for example which occurred in the early 14th century. Also the younger dryas around 12000 years ago.
Also just taking data from 1901 is very telling. Basically avoiding using a large enough data set to be accurate. That time frame is the blink of an eye geologically speaking.
I just hope that SE take lessons from metaphor, exp 33 and realise turn based is still alive and well for the next ff. If not then even as a lifelong ff fan I'm not buying it. 16s combat was mind numbingly boring
I will never commit to paying 80 euro a game besides like 1 or 2 exceptions. I can wait, there are so so many games in my backlog. I still haven't bought ratchet and clank and demons souls because i haven't seen them drop below 39.99 this generation. But they will eventually.
The problem is there are more and more people like me who either don't mind waiting or can't afford the price increases which is leading to less and less purchases on launch. It's a vicious cycle really and I can only see one outcome where a crash happens and a lot of big studios/publishers will go under
@KonstantTrouble if it's not regulated then I would have no trouble believing a big business would fudge the numbers. I havent heard this before but if true then that's pretty damning
@ShogunRok yes I have seen those comments but no figures to back any of it up. What does second biggest launch actually mean? Sales pre and on launch day? Sales in the first week? You say it's making so much money, have you got any figures for that? No matter what you think being cagey about the acutal numbers isn't a good sign. Every game that is successful cannot wait to publish figures proving their success we see it time and time again.
Shadows was such a hit we still don't have the sales numbers, definitely a good sign. The earnings report and share price beg to differ. The copium is strong

Thanks for bringing this up. I've noticed this happening a lot lately but it really caught my attention with silent hill 2. Like why? Well I know why. Also should companies be allowed call it 'early access'? There must be some sort of advertising rules that apply here because it's not early access it's more like 'not late access'
