Xbox's Next Round of PS5 Games Are Available to Pre-Order Physically 1

A bunch of upcoming Xbox titles, including Gears of War: Reloaded, are available now to pre-order physically on the PS5 – but fans are understandably worried about how much data will actually be included on the discs.

Ninja Gaiden 4 and The Outer Worlds 2 were the two other titles dated during the Xbox Showcase which can be pre-ordered on Blu-ray, although the latter does include a concerning ‘Internet Required’ disclaimer.

Those of you who’ve been following Microsoft’s recent moves will know that the physical versions of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and DOOM: The Dark Ages are effectively plastic paperweights, as they include an insulting amount of data on the discs. They also sport a similar disclaimer to The Outer Worlds 2.

Ninja Gaiden 4 doesn’t have an ‘Internet Required’ remark, although it’s a ‘Digital Game Code’ on Xbox Series X|S.

So yes, while you can pre-order all three of these games at retail now, you may want to pump the breaks before more details are announced. It strikes us that Microsoft is done shipping Blu-rays with all of the game data included on the disc, and to us that renders all of the advantages of physical media redundant.
