@playthedangame same. I also hope blue prince wins debut indie. I'm not a puzzle guy at all and I put 40 hours into it, and still return to it now. Brilliant game
@DennisReynolds yeah Ben Starr and Jennifer English have become gaming treasures in the last 2 years. And it's great to see Blue prince get its flowers. I generally don't like puzzle games, but I got addicted to Blue prince, such a fantastic game
@ChicoTarta agreed. Don't get me wrong, I don't play it much, but I always join my son when they do the end of season events, as they're always really cool
Looks like I'll be joining my son in playing this one. Some people will say Fortnite jumped the shark, but honestly I think it's always been the gaming equivalent of pitting all of our action figures together as kids. I'm here for the ridiculousness of the whole thing
I might give this a go. I'm not a fan of microtransactions in games but if this has a decent way to earn stuff through playing it might be worth giving it a go. I'm not inheritantly against gacha games, genshin impact was actually really fun
@AdamNovice I agree to an extent. Although I think it will sell better than the deck. Depends on price though. If they can get it close to £500 it may do well
I think it will find an audience but I don't think it will be a threat to playstation, as it's not on par power wise and will still be busy playstation exclsives. So far. Can see it being a massive problem for Xbox though. I for one will probably pick one up, as the steam deals are second to none, and I don't have a particularly great PC
@Bentleyma I think I'll be picking it up when I get paid on the 20th. I started playing the original last year but couldn't get into it because it just deemed slow by modern standards. I have no doubt though that they will have improved everything for the remake and it will hit the highs that I was hoping for. The Trails of cold steel games are some of my favourite games of all time
@Oram77 yeah they're only just hitting their stride now. Ghost of Yotei did pretty well, and then we have Saros, Wolverine and Intergalactic: THP to come within the next couple of years. Wonder if they have any other big reveals coming within the next year
I think he probably meant gta 6. It's gonna be the biggest gane in the world even if it ends up being a let down (which I don't see happening) Although wolverine and intergalactic I expect will be big releases too, but they won't be anywhere near that level sales wise
Jaw dropping is maybe pushing it, but this looks like a good remake of one of the most underrated games on PS2. Was a brilliant game originally so I expect the remake to be good
It was fine, I expected it to be a slower one. They were mainly focused on the Japanese market, and it was mostly updates to existing games. As a big fan of JRPGs and cozy games I actually enjoyed it more than most people would have
@Alps_Stranger currently my top is Expedition 33, closely followed by Blue prince and Death stranding 2. I have enjoyed what I've played of KCD2 though. I'm only about 4 hours in but really enjoying it so far. Definitely deserves some recognition at awards season
I have the PC version installed on my steam deck but have only played the first 5 minutes. I do love a good narrative though, I'll have to give it another go
I'm not surprised by this, but as an enthusiast, I buy a decent amount. I'm also into all genres, if a game is good I'm generally interested. That said, I'm currently not buying a new full priced gane until next year, so I can get through some of my backlog
@Oram77 same. Tbh though it's still a surprise it being number 1, above FC. Obviously FC will have a lot of digital sales and a longer tail end, but to see the game doing so well is refreshing
It's a shame people have no patience. I'm excited for GTA6, but I'm happy to wait until Rockstar is ready. That way you know you'll get a finished product, and not another Cyberpunk 2077 (which has actually realised it's potential after all the updates)
@SeaDaVie from what I've heard, a fair few original team members are still there, but some of the more senior ones are still there. Still think the remaining devs deserve a chance, but I'd love to see a full deep dive and find out exactly what went on
@tselliot here's a curveball for Atreus. What about Owen Cooper from Adolescence. Was fantastic in the show and kind of looks the part. I know it's a totally different genre but would be get him a lot more recognition, especially in the states
@Oram77 not sure if anyone has already answered your question, but it's not been confirmed yet. However everyone "in the know" is saying it's happening and they always do one in September before TGS, so I'd say there's a 90% chance. And I too would love some Saros gameplay
Got one for Christmas 1998 and it's probably the game that truly made me fall in love with video games, although I played the megadrive and snes before. Games such as Metal gear solid, Final fantasy 7-9, the legend of dragoon, resident evil, silent hill, plus the original gta. Still one of my favourite consoles of all time. Although the PS2 remains my all time favourite
I think this is good casting tbh and think she'll do a good job. The bigger question is whether they can actually make it work this time, with a good story. Although I actually have a soft spot for the first Angelina Jolie Tomb raider
@Oram77 if that's the case that's a real shame. It being set in Japan makes it even more interesting to me, and I love the US set silent hill games. But as a big fan of Japanese horror, I've wanted a silent hill game set in Japan for many years
@Oram77 yeah although I love 3, 2 is still my favourite and still holds up. Although it is worrying how the story and themes are even more prevalent now than before, when some of the stuff seemed ridiculous at the time
Picked the wrong month to cancel my subscription, gonna have to resub. Mortal kombat 1! Unicorn overlord. Just them 2 alone are worth being subscribed for. Been on my list for a while
Honestly, I'm glad. I enjoyed the original but felt there was more they could have added side content wise. And in terms of time, I will happily just play when I can for as long as it takes. I'm not one who has to be able to finish a game in a couple of sittings and the finish with it
@PuppetMaster that's a great idea, so many good choices for games to be turned into anime. And the Castlevania and Devil may cry anime have shown how well they can do if treated with care. My girlfriend loved the DMC anime and she only has a passing interest in either anime or video games
See every now and again I pop in the Fortnite and play with my son. I'm not a massive fan, but the trailers are always exceptional and I do enjoy some of the crossovers
@Anya-chan tbh I really liked the small town American setting but I love the idea of them changing the setting to Japan. You're right about needing more Asian settings, especially for horror games. I love the Fatal frame games for this reason
@Anya-chan God I hope so. I loved the SH2 remake, and I'm a fan of these Japanese settings. And the fact that the story is being written by the Higurashi: when they cry writer fills me with hope for the story
@TrollOfWar yeah I hope it sells well tbf. I enjoyed the 20 or so hours I played of it. Also I have a couple of friends, neither of whom are massive gamers, and they loved it, both completing it multiple times, so it definitely has its fans
I use YouTube on my PS5 every single day, and often use Amazon prime and Netflix too. I do have the streaming services on my TV but they definitely run better and with fewer issues on the app on playstation
Not a bad month tbh. Looking forward to finally playing Banishers:ghost of New Eden. I remember the reviews being mixed but that it's generally a decent game with a good story. And now they've fixed it, Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the best RPGs in recent memory
I hope this is true. I still enjoy Assassin's creed, but that was the last time I truly found it a must play. And actually to this day, Black flag is the only one I ever finished
Not surprised. It's one of the biggest franchises in gaming and the last 2 mainline games, as well as the 2 and 4 remakes (3 remake was disappointing but still a fun game) have been fantastic
I watched the 1994 a few weeks ago, for the first time in over 20 years. It's not a good film, but it's still entertaining and has some great lines, and obviously Raul Julia steals the show. It's definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. I thoroughly enjoyed it
@Propaperpusher that's fair enough. I genuinely don't know how people can get bored of Death stranding, I thought it was a brilliant world to explore and I loved the story, but each to their own

Re: Shogun, The Boys Director Joins God of War TV Series as Casting Gets Underway
Great news. Shogun was one of the best shows the year it came out
Re: When Is The Game Awards 2025?
Also worth mentioning, it's also being shown on Prime video this year as well as the normal YouTube and Twitch
