@Cloud39472 I agree I would definitely have put Rebirth higher (I mean it's my no 1 this year). In terms of Infinite wealth, I haven't played it yet, so can't have much of an opinion. But Like a dragon became one of my favourite games of all time, so if Infinite wealth is as good or better I could definitely see why it gets into a top 3
Nice to see Persona 3 reload on someone's game of the year. I've tried playing 3 a few times, both the standard and the FES edition. And this is the first time I've enjoyed playing it. Such a great remake, and one of my favourite games of the year
Very good list. It's nice to see some surprises on there such as stellar blad. The worst part is this year I've not played as many games as normal and the only one on the list I've played is Astro. Will probably pick these up when they're on offer during the early part of next year
I will get round to this as it does look quite good, but I still haven't played Prince of Persia, Metaphor or Silent hill 2, so this is quite far down the list of priorities
Also I'd love to see more games and sequels get given a chance. As was mentioned a few times, games used to be made by people for the players. Would be nice to see that come back. I'm sure if a game os made with love and ends up being good it will get an audience
Very excited for this. The anime at the beginning being watched on the spaceship instantly gave me Cowboy bebop vibes. And although I don't agree with the product placement I am loving seeing the cd changer full of real cds. Hoping the soundtrack will be awesome
Also, normally Geoff would either be bigging it up or telling people to calm down and he's been suspiciously quiet. Doesn't necessarily mean anything but it is unusual for him to be this quiet
I always get a bit excited at these shows and conferences, but I still keep my expectations in check. That being said I enjoyed last year's show and Andy Robinson from what I've seen of him is quite stoic and typically British, so him saying to get excited does lend more weight to it being a good show
I think he's great, and I've been a fan of all the games his teams have done so far, so looking forward to this being revealed. That being said, some of his mannerisms and the way he says things sound a bit like Tommy Wiseau in the room
@KyushuTrail great choice. Definitely an acquired taste but I personally think it's a masterpiece. Just wandering the remains of the USA is such an enjoyable experience, and the story is fantastic
Love the playstation wrapped. I can usually tell what my most played game is going to be (this year it's easily FF7: rebirth) but some of the other top 5 end up being quite a surprise. Although I'm expecting Astro bot and Helldivers 2 to make an appearance
I do watch the occasional gaming videos, from sites such as Playstation access and Kinda funny, and occasionally go back to Markiplier. But I definitely don't watch more than I play. And if anything watching these videos make me want to play games more and gives me new games that I want to play, so has probably expanded my gaming horizons
@UltimateOtaku91 that and Metal gear solid. What a great time the PS1 generation was. We'll never see it's like again, thanks to gaming now being a fully corporate enterprise. Although the indie scene does seem to be going from strength to strength
@themightyant I would never claim FF8 to be superior personally, although it is my favourite FF game and I can easily go to bat for it at any point. Still any ff from 6 to 10 is absolutely fantastic
I only played this a little bit back in the day when I was going off JRPGs. But the last few years I've been back on the bandwagon and I would absolutely play a remastered version
A few games got snubbed, but the fact that P3 is not in the RPG of the year I feel is a travesty. Not only is SOTE not a full game, it barely counts as an rpg. But it's still down to people's opinions at the end of the day, so I can't complain too much
To be fair that doesn't surprise me. I only bought it in January and I'm still playing, only halfway through act 2. I've been playing other stuff though, that's not constant. And I restarted about 5 times after a few hours
This has come a few days after I got remote play working on steam deck to play ps5 games and decided I didn't need a portal. Now I'll give this a couple of months to iron out the kinks and get a portal early next year
@rusty82 as I say I totally get it, but I enjoyed it, and I loved just spending time in the world. But I completely get why a lot of people didn't like it
I've heard good things about this one. Blessing g on kinda funny mentioned it seemed like the dark souls of puzzle games (although I would argue that's actually the witness)
The big companies coukd easily get around this by releasing all major DLC as standalone, just as maybe a slightly higher cost, say £30-£40. They coukd still have the DLC purchasable as an add on at lesser cost. The only real argument against it (which tbh is the only argument needed) is that you can't play the DLC without owning the main gane. In terms of quality, and even length, you Shadow is easily up there with the top releases
@Nei I hope so. Death stranding is one of my favourite games from the ps4. The story is fantastic, but I can see why people didn't vibe with the gameplay (I personally loved it). Would love to see more of that world but with more involved gameplay and I can definitely seeing Kojima improving every aspect of thr first game
I've just got the ps plus remote play on .y steam deck, so while the TV is in use I'll be playing some of the smaller games I haven't had time for this year. So Animal well and The plucky squire will be getting some playtime. Also still playing through Baldur's gate 3, about halfway through act 2
Can't wait for this. Love death and robots is fantastic, even if some episodes aren't as good as they coukd be. Can't wait for the Sifu one. They could do a really good story out of a guy dying and getting older
@lazarus11 yeah it's such a great film. Loved how they got all of those horror legends in just one movie. That's a franchise I wouldn't mind seeing return. Though as you said Andrew Divoff did such a great job that it would be hard to get anyone to replace him
@Boxmonkey I agree about the library not being at the same level as Ps4 but I'm still struggling to play everything I want to play. There's at least 4 or 5 games from this year alone that I really want to play. Although for the record, I'm not likely to get a PS5 Pro. Still think there's plenty of games for those that want one though
I hope this does well. Be nice to see Playstation do more games aimed at families. Our whole family has loved playing Astro bot this last few weeks, and I think we'll be picking this up. Me an my girlfriend love Horizon and I think linking with lego is a great idea
This is terrible news to have seen almost straight after I'd woken up. Such a great actor and voice. The Candyman films are some of my favourite cheesy horror flicks. And I also remember him from the casino scene in Wishmaster. Such a sad loss
I tend to listen more to the general consensus from reviews and reviewers I have similar tastes to. I never look at the user scores, because I find that gamers put bad reviews for anything. There is no way that perceived "forced wokeness" can take a decent game to a 1 out of 10. Ridiculous
I must admit this has become one of my most anticipated games. When Matthew Mcconaughey came on stage I got a bit excited but then the trailer, while looking great, didn't tell me much about what the game would be. However all the talk of it being inspired by Mass effect quickly put it near the top of my list
@naruball true, it is for me. But I think more people will be annoyed than happy with that. I'm looking forward to playing this again. One of my favourite games of last gen
It does look fantastic, and I'll be happy to pay £10 extra for it. It's clear that the difference is night and day, so can't wait to replay on the PS5 pro
@Gewertzx maybe so, but then what's to say a AAA PoP would make the money back, when it would cost much more to make and therefore would require much more sales. Ubisoft may as well stick to making Assassin's creed, and updates to R6 Siege, as they would earn more money from that than any other gane they coukd possibly make
@Gewertzx there are no better games in the genre from indie developers. This is probably the best non Metroid or Castlevania Metroidvania, with the possible exception of Hollowknight
This is why we don't deserve nice things. This is one of the best games of the year, and it couldn't find an audience despite great reviews and decent marketing. Maybe all of the companies shoukd just release new sequels in their biggest franchises, and when people bring up "Where are all the new ideas, just have the company figurehead say. "You don't like new ideas" and leave it at that
For me it goes Death stranding 2, then Ghost of Yotei, then GTA6. But if gta 6 ends up being a banger, that will probably be my most played game. Clair obscura is up there too, and I'm hoping lost records ends up being good. I live these "teenage girl angst" games, with LIS:TC being one of my most memorable games of the last few years
I remember a mate introducing me to the Manga a few years ago and it seemed quite good. Never watched the anime though and with everything else coming out I might give this one a miss. Still excited for those who want to play though. Hopefully it will be a good adaptation
I really enjoyed it takes two and a way out was fantastic. I'm hoping for Fares to say he's doing a. Tv style release then saying "f*** the emmys" at the game awards
@somnambulance I don't think it will be purely because they say "indie friend". That could be just them skirting the issue but it seems a weird way to frame it if it's a bigger company. I'm not sure if Blumhouse are indie but if so I could see it being them
I just ended up playing Trails of cold steel on a whim, as I remembered seeing trailers from the ps3 but at the time I had fallen off the JRPG train. But now its one of my favourite series. Love Falcom
