Atomfall, the very British post-apocalyptic adventure game, is getting its own TV show.
Developer and publisher Rebellion is teaming up with Two Brothers Pictures to adapt the game for television.
Atomfall has been a big hit for Rebellion with over 3.7 million players, and it also just won Best British Game at this year's BAFTA Games Awards.
Two Brothers Pictures is the production company with credits on some well-liked TV series such as Fleabag, The Assassin, Baptiste, and The Tourist.
Harry and Jack Williams, who founded the company, will be writing the Atomfall adaptation, and Rebellion is directly involved; Chris and Jason Kingsley (CTO and CEO respectively) will serve as executive producers.
"Atomfall has such a distinctive British tone and setting, and it’s been a real joy developing it alongside the Rebellion team – especially as two brothers working alongside two brothers," said the Williams brothers. "There’s something very exciting about expanding this strange, unsettling story for television."
Rebellion says the pair "demonstrated a clear love for Atomfall" and that they share "the same passion for creating and telling great stories".
This will be another TV adaptation of a video game in a pretty impressive string of them. We've seen the likes of The Last of Us, Twisted Metal, Fallout, and more in recent years, while God of War is also in production right now.
Atomfall takes place in a post-war, alternate history Britain that's recovering from a nuclear disaster. You play an amnesiac hero who finds himself in a quarantine zone, and must discover its mysteries and engage with a strange cast of characters.

Cast Rob Beckett as the protagonist!!
Jimmy Carr the antagonist!!
This was one of the best games I played last year, and I'm beyond thrilled to hear this. I just hope they nail the atmosphere and setting...
I was disappointed by the game because of it's gameplay, but I absolutely loved the atmosphere and world building. This could be promising.
I thought the game was surprisingly good, but I didn't play much because I had a few other games going at the time. But the world and story are fantastic and (relatively) unique so a TV show makes perfect sense
In my backlog and I really must get round to playing it...
Interesting 🤔
They are making shows/movies for every game now wtf? They'll prob even make a show for that game "Baby Steps", the walking sim.
The protagonist is falling all over the place wherever he steps. Cracking his head on the ground, falling off bridges, stumbling down steps. Oh wait, we had that already. It was called Jackass on MTV.
