With Xbox announcing a big showcase for the summer, it hasn't taken long for the Persona 6 rumours to kick into gear (again).
This is, of course, the inevitable Atlus RPG that we've all been waiting on for years; it's actually mad to think that the original Persona 5 first released close to a full decade ago. But the Japanese developer's quite clearly taking its sweet time.
Anyway, word of Persona 6 is doing the rounds on X (Twitter) and Reddit, stemming from comments made by notable industry gossiper eXtas1s. He said that Persona 6 could finally be unveiled this year, and with publisher SEGA being so close to Xbox these days, the big reveal could happen at an event hosted by the Team in Green.

However, 'could' is the key word here. eXtas1s has clarified that he's not the original source for these whispers — he's just referencing what he's heard from other reports and potential insiders.
Naturally, that hasn't stopped various gaming news aggregators and websites from running with the story as though the announcement is destined to happen.
And at this point, we should remind everyone that there's another Persona title currently in heavy development. While we doubt that it's being made by the same core team behind Persona 6, Persona 4 Revival is meant to be launching this fiscal year.
Or at least, that's the window that SEGA said it was targeting in a previous business report.
In short, we just can't see Atlus and SEGA lifting the curtain on something as important as Persona 6 when it's busy with other projects in the same franchise. We think it's much more likely that Persona 4 Revival will get a push this summer, potentially ahead of a release later in 2026, or in early 2027.
Still, the Persona 6 rumours will simply never dissipate until the thing is actually shown. The wait continues...
When do you think we'll finally see Persona 6? Don't get your hopes up in the comments section below.
