Why use such a negative connotation as the review title on a game you’ve given an 8 to?

As a lifelong PlayStation gamer and fan, this is upsetting for numerous reasons. Besides the fact they’ve closed another talented team. They wasted them for half a decade on game they were never a good fit to make in the first place. It’s upsetting because it’s another signal that Sony is unwilling or uninterested in further investing in the types of games that have made me such a fan of theirs in the first place.

I’m not dumb. I understand the need for them to diversify their output to different genres, and the need to reach different types of gamers. I for one, welcome games like 4Loop, Marathon, Marvels Tokon, and even Concord being made in house. Even if some of them don’t interest me at all, I’m glad they’re still at least taking a swing. But at the cost of games like Days Gone, Concrete Genie, Until Dawn, Demons Souls, Detroit Become Human, etc.? Absolutely not.

As a platform holder they are the ones who should be in the position to take risks. They are the ones in position to take chances, and experiment with new ideas, and new IP. Instead they’ve become completely stagnant and sterile. It’s beyond disappointing that we’ve pretty much only seen re-releases and sequels this generation. And while those sequels have been great, and things like Son’s of Sparta are welcome, it’s not enough in my opinion. I’ve said it here before, and I’ll say it again. Thank goodness for third party studios.

Inexcusable. I know I alone won’t make a difference but I think I’ll be more selective on how I spend my money on PlayStation studios from here on. For example I’m no longer interested in giving Marathon a go.

I genuinely like Jaffe. But I watched some of his stream playing this, and in my opinion it was a big ol case of user error. It was like watching man try and discover fire.

I thought this trailer was much better than the reveal. Looking forward to giving this a shot when they announce the beta.

In my opinion games like this and Concord would have been received far better if they weren’t coming at the cost of new single player IP. If we were getting or had gotten new games from first and third party studios like we did last generation I think things would be so much different in regards of Sony doing games like this along side their single player stuff. But Bluepoint, Naughty Dog, Bend, Quantic Dream, Media Molecule, etc, have all been completely absent for a long time, and all we’ve really gotten for single player games is sequels. Yeah they’ve been excellent sequels but they’re not new IP.

Day one for me. They’re the only studio making these types of games so I’ll keep supporting them until they don’t

Let’s be real this looks terrible. The fact it got announced randomly on a Thursday afternoon doesn’t do much for confidence either. This generation of PlayStation continues to be such a disappointment. Extremely thankful for third party studios.

Absolutely loved Jazzpunk. It’s always my go to recommendation when anyone asks for a recommendation for a fun and easy platinum

I’ll never understand why it has been such a crap show to get ps3 games running on modern devices

Besides Gears of War and State of Decay, this is really the only major game I’ve been anticipating coming to PlayStation.

This showcase seems far more focused on the 5 hosts than the actual games.

Eh to each their own. I thought the trailer looked fine and might even be something I’d eventually pick up on sale. Far more interesting to me than South Park characters coming to Fortnite, Stranger things coming to Dead by Daylight, or the dozens of Asian fantasy slop games ripping each other off that come out consistently.

Yikes. Not a good start to the year.

Incredibly disappointing that they’re dropping the multiplayer aspect. Not sure that I’m all that interested any longer, but I’ll save final judgment for the next trailer.

Left 4 Dead was really the only Xbox exclusive I was jealous of not being on PlayStation. Very excited to see what this game is.

Literally was going to buy Killing Floor 3 from GameStop today. So pumped to give it a go. Really loved the second one. Also happy with Lego Horizon and Outlast Trials

Reanimal news and Jennifer English? I’m there

I love Atsu as a character so far, but the lone wolf, “I’m better off alone” trope, has never been one I find that interesting. I’m still currently playing through the story but this is quickly becoming my choice for game of the year

This was probably my third favorite game of the year. My only real complaint is the repetitiveness of the combat. Other than that, it was pretty much exactly what I wanted and was hoping for. I’m glad to hear that it was successful financially as well. I’m very much looking forward to what’s next
