Toem is one of my personal favourite indie games on PS5, so I'm really looking forward to the sequel, which has just received a release date at last.
Unfortunately, that release date is slap bang in the middle of an incredibly busy schedule; Toem 2 launches on 29th September, 2026.
It has me wondering what chance it has, releasing right in the spot where people have either spent their money on some exciting new games, or they're about to.

I guess it's a pretty minor release in the grand scheme of things, so perhaps developer Something We Made felt it wouldn't matter exactly when it launched.
Regardless, I think this is going to be a really lovely little game worthy of your attention.
Like the original Toem, the sequel is a black-and-white adventure game that's all about exploring environments, taking photographs, and interacting with a fun cast of characters.
It features a third-person camera while you're just wandering around, but when you want to snap a pic, it moves to first-person, giving you an entirely different perspective on the world.
You'll use the camera and other tools to help people out with simple quests, and it just has such warm vibes that I really loved in the first game. Toem 2 looks like it's more of the same in that regard.
I just hope it's able to find success among all the noise in September.
