Well, I wasn't expecting this news on a random Monday in July, but it's very much welcome.
Suika Game, as well as its follow-up Suika Game Planet, are both now available for purchase on PS5.
Going for $2.99/£2.49 each, these popular fruit-based puzzle titles have been available elsewhere for years, so it's nice to finally see them pop up on PlayStation.
Here's a video that shows off the basics of gameplay:
Basically, Suika Game has you matching fruits as they fall into the play field. When two matching fruits touch, they combine and become a larger fruit, going from cherry all the way up to watermelon.

Suika Game Planet is essentially the same idea, only you're playing into a circular area rather than a rectangular one.
These are very simple games, but quickly grew popular when they first appeared. Now, you can check them out yourself (if you haven't already) via PS5.
It's good to have the official games ready to roll, because the PS Store definitely has a few copycats among all its awful shovelware.
Sister site Nintendo Life gave the original game a decent 7/10 in their review, calling it a "competent and addictive little puzzler that does a great job of executing a very simple concept."
Are you planning on picking up Suika Game/Suika Game Planet on PS5? Tell us in the comments section below.

Sold. Love this game, will play again.
@get2sammyb There was a better version already out on PSN called Fruit Mountain, and it's made by Bexide!
(Bexide made the Doko Demo Issho games on PS1)
Double dipping on both!
@dodgykebaab I’ll be getting that one, too! Played the trial and really enjoyed the 3D aspect.
Are there any trophies?
That was a really good travel game on the Switch, I also need to add Fruit Mountain to the list. Right next to the recent Turnip Mountain, I liked the name and made a note. I also want to try a clicker game but don't know where to start, just something for the background while I do other things.
@AFCC quick look at PSN profiles shows there are 34 to collect and a platinum! So I’ll be there for the game and those. List doesn’t look too bad either.
@dodgykebaab I played that at a convention (can't remember which one). It is fun, but I still like the original.
NO THANKS.... it's hideously addictive!
Nah I'm good I'll nut it for support but that game had a chokehold on me
I play a free version on my phone. Quite addictive
Already platinum the two knockoffs so might platinum this one too.
Picked up both of these, hoping Hololive Treasure Mountain comes to PS like it did Switch as well.
My wife is HOOKED on this game. She's been playing it on Switch, but I bought this right away on PlayStation. Now she can play it with whichever controller she picks up.
There was a similar free game on PSN.
