It's not wrong. Your average parent buying a console for their kid so they can play CoD with their friends would want to be warned as much, otherwise they'll have to buy a different expensive machine. A lot of people out there still mainly just play CoD and get the new one every year.
Playstation losing CoD could finally give some new shooter IPs a chance like what Deviation are making, also the other studio Sony partnered with Firewalk. A bunch of Respawn devs have left Apex recently too and joined a new company, excited to see what comes of that.
PS2? Reminds me of a couple 360 games. Though for some reason it's reminding me more of Oneechanbara, which I didn't like as opposed to Lollipop Chainsaw, which was lots of fun.
The only game that I'll probably shell out £70 for because I want it day 1 will be God of War. I waited almost a year for Miles Morales to be the £30ish I felt it should have been (the same as the Uncharted Lost Legacy price since it's not full game length). The new RRP is too expensive and I hope games are selling worse at launch so they adjust accordingly. It's also a problem with Nintendo titles tbh, there are some games I'm interested in trying or ports of old games that I'm not paying full price for and they never go cheap.
So strange it's not confirmed for a global release, I know there's no way we'd get the MMO but an offline version seems to be the solution they needed to release it over here. Makes less sense releasing it only in Japan as they can already play the entire story content of this game for free in the Online version instead of paying full price for what is essentially a remake with (debatably) worse graphics...
'Fun for all' With the least fun looking logo I could imagine. In fact to me it screams 'we are now a professional company' and not a company that makes fun, anime games. I wasn't a big fan of their original logo but it's way better and more distinctive.
Returned the original game after a couple of days, gameplay was not for me at all, even though the visuals, acting, story, music were all appealing it wasn't enough to make up for how dull and annoying the gameplay was.
I don't agree with £70 games, so far I've waited on a sale for all the PS5 games I've bought rather than paying that. I fully expected Sony to be doing what Xbox's Smart Delivery is, just without the marketing term. I also think Sony know our expectations perfectly well and are trying to get away with whatever they can knowing they can backtrack if there's enough fuss, like they've done.
I've been wanting to check out Hunter's Arena: Legends, though... Aren't Battle Royale games normally free anyway even without being on PS+? The other two I don't have any interest in myself but it's not like they're low-budget/terrible games. I don't any already so I guess there's that too lol.
I think PS4>PS5 upgrades should be free. I already own the game, I shouldn't have to pay for a resolution pack/optimization. Actual extra content like an expansion for the story? No problem paying for that separately.
Making a previously multiplatform series exclusive always sucks. If MS hadn't purchased them, these games would all have come to Playstation. Whereas Playstation seem to be bankrolling at least a couple of brand new studios to create new IP recently, which increases the number of games available overall, even if they are exclusive.
I'm really hoping this reviews well and is worth picking up. Feels like there aren't that many new games coming out this year I'm all that interested in.
Elden Ring was the best thing out of the show. Nintendo's I kinda ruined for myself by hoping for a Switch Pro + Bayonetta 3 announcement or BotW 2 to be out this year...
From Square Enix I was hoping for Tomb Raider, FFXVI, Forspoken... and none of that turned up. Guardians looked good but maybe not great gameplay-wise.
Microsoft had a good showing tbh but I obviously can't get hyped for stuff the PS isn't getting.
£69.99 and no single player campaign... Guess I'll wait for it to inevitably end up on PS+ down the line. Or a big sale. I was hyped by the futuristic setting too.
First time in ages I'm actually looking forward to the monthly PS+ collection. Been wanting to try a Virtua Fighter game out and been ages since I played a Star Wars dogfighting game too. Even the co-op game might be a lot of fun.
I want it but if there's something else out around the same time I'd probably pick it up second. The first game was good but it wasn't on the level of GoW or TLoU nor as fun as Ghost of Tsushima imo. The premise and lore I found really compelling but the actual side quests and acting not so much.
Do we have the numbers somewhere for sales of Skyrim on PC vs XBox vs PS vs Nintendo? Using that as an indicator it'd be interesting to see how many sales they're potentially skipping out on. Half? If this wasn't Microsoft with their limitless money they'd have to reduce the budget to adjust and remain profitable right?
I own it for PS3 and didn't get the PS4 remake, so probably not? But then I rarely ever replay games, if you do then it's no bad thing. It's more for people new to the franchise though, they can pick up the first and second game as PS5 editions, which would be cool.
Is XBox gaining ground? Certainly, because of the Zenimax deal they now have exclusives to look forward to in a few years time. Gamepass though? I'm still unconvinced it's sustainable and can Sony eat that sort of a loss? I don't think they can respond beyond what they're already doing with the PS+ collection, Play at Home initiative and making PS+ better with their game choices. At the end of the day, if you want to play the new God of War/The Last of Us/ Ghost of Tsushima etc you need to own a PS5. The worst thing Sony could do is start launching these games elsewhere.
I still don't think Gamepass is sustainable and eventually someone will look at how much money they're bleeding and decide it's not worth it. Until then, I guess Sony made some easy cash on a property that tbh must struggle outside the US right?
I enjoyed Puppeteer a lot (and even Rain to a lesser degree) and was looking forward to seeing more weird kinda-indie titles from Japan Studio on PS4 but we didn't really get any...
I want the first Atelier Ryza. On PSN right now it's still full price even though it's not a new game and it's even the same price as the sequel that just came out! Physical editions are out of print so they're even more expensive...
It's hard enough keeping up with all the new games that come out, I wouldn't make time to play games I've already finished before. Maybe when I retire lol
I might have been interested in trying the next Starfield and Elder Scrolls games assuming they got amazing reviews but I literally have zero current investment in any of these series. Most of them fill that 'I'd probably like them if I tried them but never got around to it' space. Tried Dishonored, didn't like it. Tried a multiplayer beta for Doom and didn't like it but think I might if I tried the singleplayer... I was given Skyrim for the 360 but never actually played it since it sounded like a massive time investment and I was busy playing other stuff.
As much as people like this change, I'd be worried that they've basically shifted the whole game drastically. Multiplayer games and single player ones play very differently and depending on how far along they gotten this'll be one big rework. That new Amazon game New World had the same thing happen to it.

Still no clue why they stopped me from being able to post directly to FB.
Re: Elden Ring Enjoys Staggeringly Successful UK Launch, One of the Biggest Games in Years
I'd have bought Horizon but Elden Ring was coming out a week later... It'll keep me busy for a long while too.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Horizon Forbidden West?
Too close to Elden Ring. Also I don't want to support £70 games, rather wait for a sale so it's priced normally.
Re: Sifu Updates to Include Difficulty Settings and Accessibility Options
How unexpected, I thought the entire point of the game was to be a challenge that required a lot of dedication and repetition.
Re: So, It Seems Xbox Really Will Keep Activision Games Like Call of Duty on PS5, PS4
That seems so weird.
I was sure it would wind up being, of course you can have CoD etc, but only if you put Gamepass on the Playstation.
Re: Sony Buys Ex-Halo, Destiny Developer Bungie for $3.6 Billion
Prep for when they lose CoD, makes sense.

Re: Naughty Dog Teases 'All-New Content' for The Last of Us Day 2021
They could do like Apex and just release out of nowhere, polished and ready to play.
I'm still expecting the multiplayer TLoU to be a Battle Royale.

I bought Japan Studio games

Re: Immortals Fenyx Rising: Myths of the Eastern Realm Expansion Is Out Now on PS5, PS4
