Dragon Ball: The Breakers — the multiplayer survival game that was announced last year — has been given a 14th October release date here in the West (it launches a day earlier, on the 13th October, in Japan). The game looks more polished in its latest trailer than it has done in previous videos, and it also shows off how Frieza will play as one of the villains.

For those totally out of the loop, The Breakers has teams of good guys attempt to survive against immensely powerful baddies. Bandai Namco released a detailed gameplay overview last year if you want to see the title in action, but the gist of it is that as a hero, you'll need to work together in order to make it out alive, while the designated villain is tasked with growing their power until they're strong enough to wipe the map.

On paper it's a fun — if undeniably strange — concept for a Dragon Ball game, but we'll obviously have to wait and see how well it plays before passing judgement. If you're eager to try it out for yourself, closed network tests are "coming soon". You can register your interest by clicking through this link.
