I’ve got my Steelbook copy waiting for me at GameStop. Fixing to clock out for lunch and go pick it up. So I’ll be playing it tonight lol.

This game is amazing as expected.

The first one did not interest me at all. I played it for about 8-10 hours and I just wasn’t having fun. I am not a fan of the tribal type of characters and robots while cool, makes me wish they were real dinosaurs/animals. Just little personal preferences is all.

Also, I am still playing Dying Light 2 and won’t be done with that any time soon. Elden Ring is my next purchase too.

I wanted to have Death Stranding DC all wrapped up and done before today, but I failed.
So I'll have to set my copy in the shelf until DS is done. Gonna be tough.

@Jango-Forest Pretty much exactly that. I really do want to play it, but if I play and finish it now I know I'll never come back if they have a big dlc area in the summer or fall. And I don't see any reason to think they won't. Don't think I can wait any longer than holiday though, if it's 5 years later, see Mario Kart dlc, well I'll be done way before then.

Definitely eill grab it later in the year. Hsd to go with Elden Ring currently.

Can't wait to play it, easily my most-anticipated game of 2022.

I had it pre-ordered (although I'm against pre-ordering, due to inflation, the prices in my country will go up very very soon so I decided to buy it before that happened... these things sadly happen in 3rd world countries).
But as with any games, I'll wait for a few patches to play it, just to be sure I get all the bugs ironed out, and all the quality of life additions that may come in the coming month.
I have enough to play right now (i.e. the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077, finally!) so I can wait.

Oh yeah, and I'll be playing it soon that's for sure.

Bought the collectors edition which arrived with a very sweary delivery driver due to the high winds. The box art is simply beautiful and I'm looking forward to placing it somewhere in my room 😂😂😂. Loved the first game and cannot wait to jump in.

Yep. I've been on nearly all day with the awful windy weather as my excuse not to leave the house. It's bloody marvellous.

As much as I want to play this I have to finish Guardians of the Galaxy, Nioh, Nioh 2, Deathloop, Alan Wake Remastered, and Metro Exodus first before I buy any new games.

I am really trying to keep the backlog under control and that means finishing my Christmas haul first!

Ya'll should run a poll on who is playing resolution mode or performance mode. Every opportunity I've been a performance mode player, but the 4k in this game is so gorgeous I'm going it in resolution mode!

Yep had the Digital Deluxe pre-ordered. Just made it to the open world and pop in aside it looks stunning, i'm using resolution mode for that 4K image and its so crisp.

Still playing Horizon zero dawn, having a great time, will probably buy forbidden west when the PS6 is out and it's dirt cheap on sale 😄

Played for 2 hours last night on performance mode, did not want to stop, but I had to go to bed. Stupid adult career. Really digging it so far, can’t wait to play tonight after my wife and I catch the Uncharted movie.

I loved the first game, and I am really looking forward to seeing how they improve on it.

An easy day one purchase for me

I did pre-order it but it still hasn’t arrived. Should have just ordered it digitally, in hindsight.

Once I knock off a few more backlog titles, I'll be snagging it and Elden Ring for sure. They're the 2 main games I want this year.

I started it last night once it unlocked. I put about four hours into it before my body was telling me to go to sleep - it is an excellent game so far! The opening was very smart, and everything just seems so fluid. I’m about to start putting in more time with the game since it’s my day off work.

I need this option in the poll: "I pre-ordered the special edition, only to have my pre-order cancelled by the store, just ONE day before release for god knows what reason, and now I can't get it anywhere".

Have only played a smidgen of the 1st game (just after that Smilodon-like machine). Didn’t really grab me and I kept on wishing I could attack with the staff more than the bow & arrow. Also the primitive look wasn’t all too appealing.

With all the hype of the second game though, I’ll probably try to go back to it; even though I’ll probably wait once again for the sequel to drop to £5 if I ever intend to buy it.

I’ve always said that Horizon is the kind of game you either love or you hate.

I was lucky enough to be sent home early from work today because of the storm - result! Needless to say I jumped on HFB earlier than expected 🙂

Going to wait for a complete version like the first game.

Quite the quandry, the first was my game of the generation. It was amazing. I really want this. But I don't want/have a ps5 at the moment, and I don't want to play it on my old phatboy ps4 as it would a) kill it b) not be at its best so why bother.
I'm also still salty about it being cross play in the first place and not being an absolute showcase for the ps5.

I usually pre-order steelbook collections, but correct me if I'm wrong, didn't all of the steelbook versions not come with a disc? I'm pretty sure that's why I didn't order it. I'd be very disappointed if it did come with the disc and I missed out.

I'll definitely be picking it up. I enjoyed the first but I had waited on playing it until I could pick it up for $20. I'll do something similar with this one but am willing to pick it up for $40-$50.

This will have the "complete edition" or more likely the "director's cut GOTY edition" down the line. Probably grab that. Still have to beat hzd😅

With one on the go and another lined up I had to look that game in the eye and say "listen, i'm just not ....free; right now. We can make it a date later?"

Still need to finish the first game, don't know what it is with this franchise but I've restarted about 4 times then something else grabs me.

It'll be a bargain by the time I pick it up.

Completed and got the plat for the original, but in no rush to get this. It’s not too different from lots of other games I’ve played, so I can wait for the price to drop. Lots to play in the meantime. The only game I’m tempted to get at release is GT7, as I haven’t played one for over a decade (and I trust the passion of the devs to not release an unfinished product).

Game is great. I loved the first one, it was one of my few plats. About 3 hours in and I’m really into the story.

Heck yeah!! Pre-ordered most def, only played about 30mins at dawn, haven't been home the whole day pretty much. It's a bit surprising they managed to further increase the already spectacular graphics from ZD but then again it's Guerrilla.

Bought it for PS4 pro. Not getting a PS5 until it's at a lower price.

I pre-ordered (anything Horizon or Guerrilla Games is an instant buy), however I always wait a couple months before starting a new game, just so patches and issues can be ironed out. However I am SWEPT AWAY with all the excitement, that I feel like I want to start it tonight!

Decisions...I kept going back and forth on 30fps or 60fps, resolution or performance, kept trying to decide what mode I would want for the game. Have not played the game yet. I pretty much just play 60fps games now on PS5, and have for a while.

So last night booted up Far Cry New Dawn 30fps, and also Watch Dogs Legion, which has a similar 30fps or 60fps, resolution or performance mode. Tried Dawn and switched back and forth on Legion to see the differences, see if I could go back to 30fps.

NOPE!

I cannot go back, just can't after the deliciousness of 60 frames per second.

So when I do start Horizon Forbidden West, it will be 60fps performance mode

Started playing the game after waiting for the clock to run down to play it.
Put the game on and it was like a film premier experience, loved it. The world is so mesmerising, and it’s the Best game so far next gen by miles 😉👍

Nah, Total War:Warhammer 3 came out this week so that'll keep me busy for the next thousand hours or so. I'll pick up the game of the year edition when it's cheap.

@__jamiie I started Horizon Zero Dawn when it came out and got bored of it after a few hours; came back a year or so later, and pushed ahead and it's one of the best games I have played.

The mechanics are fun, but the story is where it shines. Learning about Zero Dawn; and having all of the pieces start to fall into place towards the end, and the twist and turns along the way. I highly suggest revisiting it.

I'll have to wait for the price to drop. I played the first game and didn't particularly enjoy it but may pick it up again and play through as this one looks excellent

I had it pre-ordered. Though I might have changed my mind on what I'll play first. I think I might try to get through Cyberpunk first instead. Crazy good time to be a gamer though if you like open world games!

Nope, not yet…. But probably some day. I got it when I got my ps5 (didn’t own a ps4) and I expected one of the best games ever made as it is billed. I got a little ways into it and was underwhelmed. I stopped and went on to other games.
Fast forward to now and the hype for the new one has peaked my interest enough that I’m now giving HZD an honest play through with tempered expectations. So far I am enjoying it more than last time and I’m about twice as far as I was the first time.

Enjoying the game so far. Was impressed with the tutorial opening, all done very naturally and cleverly integrated into the story. Was worth the wait for this title.

So the day is out and my pre-order didn’t arrive from Amazon and no update saying why, though presumably it’s the storm’s fault. Very frustrated. Been counting down the days for this game 😢

So busy with other games. I really want HFW, but I still need to finish Death Stranding DC, TOCS 3&4, Last of Us 1, and probably Persona 5R again. And then I need to replay HZD at 60fps. Life is tough! It’s great to be a gamer.

I didn't complete the first one, except the great visuals and presentation, the Gameplay felt boring after a few hours and I hated that crafting stuff. I wanted an action adventure and got a half rpg in an open world.

I bought King of Fighters 15 Omega Edition, was way more hyped for this.
And i don't plan on buying the new Horizon game. But much fun for the main audience, who enjoys Horizon.

The game is awesome! The first section of the map is a bit too samey to Zero Dawn, though!

This is a very tough 7 days ahead. Horizon 2, Witch Queen expansion on Tuesday, then Elden Ring on Friday

But of course I bought it. I will start it tomorrow as I don't really have a chance to properly sit down and really dig into it tonight.

I’ll play it eventually. I Platinum’d the first one and absolutely loved it. But for some reason I’m just not excited about this sequel. I pick it up at some point down the line when it’s on sale. I’m sure it’s great but I don’t really feel like I needed more of that world and story. I hope everyone enjoys it.

After bouncing off HZD twice, I rushed through it and the DLC on story mode in about 5 days - did all side quests in the base game and most in the DLC too.

It's interesting how often they mention the Forbidden West in the original. Also that the DLC is Horizon Frozen Wilds or HFW, like the new game. They seem to like putting in clues to the next thing, like the warm socks in the base game that's meant to be hinting at the DLC before it released.

I'm still playing Arceus while waiting for Elden Ring and Triangle Stratagy so too much good stuff around it I'm afraid.
I will probably pick it up April because March is also kinda stacked.

Gonna wait, with the sheer amount of game competition this year the price should plummet pretty fast and I'm good with Cyberpunk right now

@ChromaticDracula when i was surprised by my wife with my ps5 she inherited my old faithful ps4 and all she ever plays is gta v...she has zero interest in any other game which is kind of worrying..

Not my type of game, so I prob won't buy it any time soon. Could not get going with the first one despite buying day one and won't buy the second one , not only because the reasons above, but also because I still don't support 20 euro price hike for games.

Absolutely loving it so far, 60fps on PS5 plays and looks brilliant. I got the special edition and I'm impressed with the tin/box and art book, really cool box sliding it open from the bottom, nice touch GG.

I have not purchased yet, but I will. In the meantime, I'm splitting time between the original and the original Dying Light. Backlogs and all.

And I think I have about 10 Assassins' Creeds to play...

My PS5 special edition didn't show up yesterday due to the storm but I've just been notified it'll be with me within a couple of hours. Exciting! Somewhat to my surprise I might end up playing Elden Ring post release whilst I'm working my way through HFW. I expected it to be the other way around!

I cancelled the PS5 pre-order and saved £20 getting the PS4 version on Amazon for £50, instead of £70.

Good of them to honour the promise, shameful of them to still price the PS5 version higher. This game disc will never see the inside of an actual PS4. Don't see any point in paying an extra £20 to have a PS5 box and package.

I pre-ordered because the early reviews this week looked good. Zero Dawn was my first platinum on the PS4, I've got about 100 hours on it, so was a no brainer, knew I'd enjoy this one.

Would have probably bought it already, but I am waiting for Elden Ring to come out as my next big game. I will buy Horizon once it has a bit of a price drop most likely.

The game is decent but after playing another several hours (about 12 total), it's just bizarre and disappointing in some aspects technically. Some sort of sacrifices were made in both performance and resolution modes in Ps5 that have absolutely resulted in some very distracting visual quality elements on anything that isn't within like 15-30 feet of your character.

Not sure why too, when you look k at rdr2 or even a more recent example would be dying light 2. That game runs at a stated lower resolution and has way less shimmer and blurriness of items in the mid to far distance. While I get that the textures and assets are far different in that and hfw, still hfw has a great deal of downscaling the further away from the character you are and to have the bizzare blurry static particulation going on as well, it is definitely underwhelming. This was no where near like this in hzd. As a cross Gen game I thought the visuals at 1800 p would be far less muddied on the Ps5 version . I recently tried to play dying light 1 to see if I'd be interested in 2, and couldn't make it through because of the dated blurry 1080p visuals. Hfw has that same resolution based blurriness in the mid and background as well.

I do hope it gets addressed if possible. Or perhaps a 45 fps 4k mode be implemented that lessens whatever scaling issues are resulting in this.

Is it possible iT just looks worse on a 65 inch 4k TV? (it's not an old or cheap model, but the flagship high end Samsung and most other games with great visuals look outstanding on it, without using the ever broken hdr as that is a whole other Playstation issue in itself).

I'll get it on a sale. I don't support $70 games. I bought Demon's Souls at $50, I bought Returnal at $40, and I bought Ratchet and Clank at $50. I can wait. No biggie.

The game is just amazing! Graphics too! I have around 10 hours and just wondering around admiring the world. I haven't noticed any technical issues so far on PS5. I'm playing in resolution mode with disabled motion blur ( absolutely pointless in any game in my opinion) and the gameplay is absolutely fluid. I came from Dying Light 2 which is a great game and I enjoyed it but Horizon is a totally different league. Worth every penny in my opinion

@zhoont I’m using resolution/quality mode. I had a go of performance mode, but tbh the resolution mode is so smooth that I’ve been using that. The only better 30fps mode I’ve seen is in Forza Horizon 5. Then you get a game like Dying Light 2 which you have to play in performance mode cos the quality mode is borderline unplayable. HFW resolution mode is very good though - even Digital Foundry said so!

I'm a rare case personally as I finished the first game but I'm not buying the sequel. Nothing against it and if you like it then great, and I hope you're having a great time with it. I just don't click too well with it and I didn't really enjoy it much.

Still, quality AAA single player story based games are the best, and I hope it sells millions.
