Let's be honest, Xbox showcase had a lot of games that aren't that interesting. State of Decay3 has been in development for over 7 yrs. That doesn't bode well. They're generating alot of buzz online but 90% of these titles will sell best on PS5 if they sell well at all.
Edit: I also have little faith in the Senua game. Ninja Theroy hasn't made a good action combat system since the PS3 era.
After 148hrs I'm 3 trophies away from Platinuming Octopath Traveler 0 so I'm gonna focus on that this weekend.
I decided to wait on reviews before purchasing The Adventures of Elliot, probably stalling long enough to figure out if I want Death Stranding 2 or not.
@Matroska π¬π¬π¬ I hope you have the disc version. Per Digital Foundry the unmatched Disc version can get 60fps but once the patches are installed performance is worst.
@1970sGamer @SleepyNick Thanks for the advice! I should say that I've watched multiple story videos on DS1 so I have a grasp of the narrative. (Cause i figured id never play it) Obviously I've avoid spoilers for DS2 though.
I'm very tempted by Death Stranding 2 but I'm worried I won't like the moment to moment gameplay. Even considered upgrading to Plus Premium for a month just to try the demo but lol NO.
I never played DS1 and a friend nearly quit gaming after playing it for 70hrs π
I'll be diving into the 1.09 update in Crimson Desert as I've actually not played it in over a week. I'm ALMOST at the end of Octopath Traveler 0 after 141 hours. And I'm near the final boss of Digimon Story Time Stranger Hoping to complete something soon.
@Flaming_Kaiser Nah I actually get what you mean. If a physical disc released 6 months later COMPLEDTED thst would good. Sadly, alot of games still aren't "Complete" even 9 month later. Looking at you Oblivion Remastered.
Almost missed WAYP this week! Been very hectic. But I actually played and finished the demo for The Adventures of Elliot and I really liked it. Played for 6hrs. Very likely to pre order it. I also played some more Digimon Story Time Stranger working towards finishing it this week. But tonight it's Crimson Desert Patch 1.08
@ShogunRok Well done, this re-review was muched appreciated and, in this case, warranted. I'm glad PushSquare was willing to do this. Although given the speed of content/patches you might have to do this all over in 6 months π€£
@Flaming_Kaiser "Then make a choice to not release it physically its just a coaster in this state"
I completely understand your sentiment here. But didn't the internet roast Alan Wake for not having a physical release at launch? Would be really be ok with a delayed physical release? Because historically it hasn't been successful.
Wondering if they want to get out of the way of The Adventures of Elliot? But still 6 months is DRASTIC delay. I had this game wishlisted and was going to buy it soon. Glad I waited!
@_Nightsever_ What really baffles me is that Vita was rejected then Switch was embraced 5yrs later. A big complaint even in the PushSquare comment sections back then was that "People don't want to play console games on the go. They want experiences tailored to mobile." But then the Switch came along and the complete opposite was true! π΅βπ«
@rjejr I'm so desperate for ANY news on DQ 12 that I'm willing to believe @ShogunRok has a secret demo that he's sneaking feedback to Square Enix on, including notes on their bizarre relationship with "/ :" and unrealistic sales expectations. π
@_Nightsever_ Yes, that narrative went hand in hand with the port begging and retro active Japan Studios love. People were saying Sony should sell the IP to Nintendo cause they wanted GR on Switch 1π
I honestly think most comments of that sort are from people too young or who relatively recently got into gaming. They probably don't know any better and just repeat what they've read online. It's just refreshing to see someone else who rembers how things really were back in the vicious Vita vs 3DS days.
@belmont I really wonder what MS will do because they have tied themselves so closely to GamePass as a brand that they will have a hard time being full "PC"
Blame all the people in the 360 era who proudly proclaimed they PREFERED to pay for Xbox Live because it was a better service than the free PSN. You can't tell corporations you want to pay for something and expect them not to call your bluff.
If only they could have " Found a way" to buy the game at launch when it mattered π
It's easy to be a fan and advocate for a game that's $Free.99 after the fact.
Gravity Rush, Motorstorm, Killzone, inFamous and Sly Cooper for me.
I'd Take Remastered Gravity Rush 2 at 60fps on PS5. And I'd like to replay the Killzone games. And I think Sly has one more game in him.
I'm playing Crimson Desert (92hrs) while also working on some trophies for Octopath Traveler 0 (126 hrs) which I'll beat someday. Here and there I'm playing sections of Digimon Story Time Stranger (60 hrs) and working towards unlocking Megas.
Haven't been able to play (or sleep) much this week, so I'm hoping to rest today and tomorrow. If I can ill squeeze in some Octopath Traveler 0 & Crimson Desert after the new patch drops.
Checked out the new Crimson Desert patch. I'm now in chapter 6 and about 80 hrs in. I also played some Digimon Story Time Stranger and I plan to get a little more Octopath Traveler 0 in today, inching towards the finale.
I really want to try this out cause it looks fantastic. Haven't gotten to the demo yet due to #TooManyGames but it's wishlisted and on my Backlog Google Doc. One day,One day...
@Pat_trick I understand. We do have differing views on this but ultimately we both want the same thing: to play our games hassle free. Hopefully we can. Cheers!
@Pat_trick Take it easy friend, I'm not attacking you. I know it sucks to have to go through hoops because of other people's choices. Sadly that's the way of the world right now. I wish there was a better way for companies to go about it but as long as people want to Pirate games this is what gamers will have to deal with. π
Honestly it's things like this that bring about Online check-ins and "DRM." People "tinkering" with the OS doesn't always end with harmless homebrew apps.
Reminds me, I gotta wishlist Berseria Remastered. I almost bought it in 2019 but chose DQ11 instead. Wouldn't mind playing it eventually. Tales of Arise was fantastic so I want to play more Tales games when I have time.
Going to check out the Crimson Desert update as I've been too busy to play since it dropped. I told myself I'd play some Digimon Story Time Stranger in-between but who am kidding?
@Americansamurai1 I wouldnt say that plus it's their (Sony's) own ip that wasn't made by the creator of Sega's rival ip. Now Soul Sacrifice back on Vita would fit that bill.
@Americansamurai1 Not sure that would effect their relationship with Sega if they funded a Like a Dragon/Yakuza rival game. Given how they shut down BluePoint and turned down guaranteed money just to appease FromSoftware I doubt they would risk a Sega conflict.
@get2sammyb 30 new characters is indeed alot. But the 4 stages should have been there at launch along with some of those new characters like Super 17.
@Krlozgod True this would just have been a new game back in the day. And it basically is as all the content will cost the same as 2 $70 releases. I just don't like that.
